This guy called Kettel is the shit. Listen to the tracks below, so much soul and effort has gone into theese productions. This is real musicality, great compositions, chord progressions etc. Beats just some loop repeated for 6 minutes doesn't it?

If you like the tracks you must check Kettel's "myam james" album series.

i love loops 8)

I wouldnīt call that music groundbreaking in any way. Elevator music would be a better description..
... so Look out for Detox ;)
-
that's probably because you wouldn't know music composition and progression in any way. Then again I have myself to blame for posting intelligent music on dubcc
-
that kingscourt imp was ight yell
-
Cool thanks for posting these. Good to hear new artists work.

what exactly is so intelligent about this, just because its downtempo and melodic??? theres a lot of music like that. theyre ok i guess but nothing special.

:eh:

I know quite a bit about about music composition and progression/build-ups after playing music (non hip hop) 20+ years. If you think that shit is so intelligent, congratulations. Good for you.
-
Thanks. Well, if you have played non hip-hop music for 20 years, or so yoy claim, you should atleast give it acknowledgement for being composed in a original and intelligent way. The fact that you don't LIKE it has nothing to do with it.
-
The artist is named after something you make cups of tea with. For that reason, I'm out.
And BTW, if you think this is groundbreaking and are using your supposed knowledge of musical composition as back up to this rather than actual musical taste, then you sir, are a c*nt.

I havenīt said that itīs brainless music. Itīs not, but I just donīt feel whatīs so groundbreaking about it.
Did just hope to hear something more amazing...
-
I think it's mad dope. Really chill but ambitiously enticing feel to it. It's optimistic & full of energy while being subtle.
I don't care about ground breaking or whatever bullshit you want to call it. If it's dope, it's dope.

Haha, nice. If you don't listen to a artist because you don't like their name says so much more about you than anything else. Imagine what good music people would miss out of if they pull the same procedure as you do.

Some more "over your head" stuff. Just listen to this, so beautifull and full of emotion, packed with details and has a great use of accustic instruments. LOVING the drumwork here.

This is from a British band called Younger brother. If you like this, I higly recomend their second album "the last days of gravity"
-
That first part was clearly a joke about the name.
It was obviously "over your head". 8)
-
it wasn't clearly a joke, don't try to steer away from the fact that you got owned
-
babys first ambient album. describes it as "groundbreaking" *ignores decades of ambient and electronic music*
this shit was being made before kettel was even born

you got any dope recommendations where drums are much more the focus than ambience?
-

You couldnt own a household pet, never mind a random guy on a forum.
I think the discussion was pretty much done when I called you a cunt in my first post. 8)
But well done for discovering some music other than Dr. Dre and Britney Spears. We wouldnt have done it without you.

Hardly my first ambient album, and the only baby I see here is your childish comments.
Btw, Brian Eno's "music for" series are classic ambient albums, but I would hardly call what I have reccomended as pure ambient. More of a mix between electronica, hip hop, psychedelic, ambient and classical, and a whooole new style. I suggest you get your ears checked, xtal ;)
Action!: Fosho man, check out theese tracks:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXjNB43WRBk
This a classic, one of the dopest tracks I've heard in a while. Great fusion between electronica and rock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocEXPGilmbs
Totally insane as well. What's so great about tracks like this is that they take you on a journey, almost as if it's telling a story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtdKb-Ayw8I
One of the most beautifull tracks ever made, IMO. Listen to the drumwork and percussion here, one word: incredible. This guy, Talpa, makes the most brilliant music out of (almost) nothing. I've seen his studio and he only has one pc and a handfull of software plugins.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgQfBpMmmjw
A live version of a classic track. Schiller is a german guy who makes electornica/ contemporary new age. Listen to the melodies here, so beautifull
-
Diggin the Talpa but not the vicious group - too much eerie elements. What I'm looking for more is a more traditional hip-hop drum affect mixed with ambient/classical/etc... Even African drums would be dope.
-
Here are some funky electronica tracks with more hip-hop/ breakbeat oriented drums:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7CRnlAt0Yg
A cool little mix beetween eastern melodies and banging drums
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZtYnDV9mVY
this one is a great melancholic piece, switches from chilled out drums to a monster cool accustic drum experience
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ__RRStGts
Epic. One of my favourite tracks ever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM_txL43iFM&feature=fvw
Starts out with a awesome orchestral piece, great progression here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGQSZVf1roY
Great percussion and drum work
-
you wanna listen to some futuristic, advanced soundin hip hop beats?
i suggest you download 'Kool Keith - Lost Masters 1 & 2' instrumentals
-
kool keith is such a funny odd unique personality. there's this track called varoom that i laugh at every time i hear
-
I'm loving all the material you posted but is there anything with drums like this,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hzomP4DQW8
but organized in a more hip-hop manner. i love the various middle eastern drum sounds and african drum sounds. they're heavily underused and untapped potential in hip-hop
