I started this thread, because I want to collect everything rare, and hard to find about Sonny Seeza, Fredro Starr, and Sticky Fingaz (+ Big DS R.I.P.) the Onyx.
One of the greatest band in hip hop ever.

Mixtape is out on teh www, since it's a mixtape that costs money, I can't post link.
I'd be seriously mad if I paid money for this.. talking at the beginning of tracks, blending tracks, very poor quality, no mixing or mastering, and old tracks.
Was at least hoping for No Swagger & Jump Into It in proper quality without tags, but these versions are worse than the already leaked tracks.

Hey did they ever do another album after bacdafucup part 2?
I absolutely loved the first album i was 13 when it came out, loved it. 2nd and 3rd were very good also then i slept an didnt check any of the solo stuff.
I got part 2 an was dissapointed then i lost teh cd and found it in a cupboard years later an it sounded betetr than i rememberd but i never checked to see if they did anything else after that.
One of the members was only in the first album ey?

Would this rare footage interest anyone?
I'm only asking because it's a good half an hour long and it's kind of a pain in the ass to upload videos that long.
I came across the original Walk In New York video footage (the actual film reel!). I had it converted and put on a normal MiniDV tape so it's on my computer. Basically, when a music video is shot (especially the hip hop videos of the 90s) they shoot the song over and over and over again for the entirety of the song from start to finish in different locations, different clothes, etc. Then they chop it up to make the music video interesting.
What I have is all the footage not chopped up. So from Walk In New York, when Sticky is rapping in the Yankees jersey in front of the apartment building; I have like 5 minutes of just that. It's the actual footage so you will recognize bits and pieces from the actual video.
It's also pretty cool to see how a music video is not only made, but made with the actual filmed footage and not just some guy with a camcorder off to the side.

Onyx had a crazy show in Poznan last weekend. It was off the chain, Fredro and Sticky performed all their classic stuff and 2 new songs from their upcoming album that were also dope 8)
I had a chance to do an interview with the 2 of them, took some pics together and they signed my Onyx cd's so it was a hella cool expierence 8)

man i been sleeping on onyx a bit i loved their first two albums so fucking much!!! third one good also. i did eventually get what i think was the fourth and wasnt as good. i dunno if they did anymore after that but i never bought any of the solos.
Anyway, i seen em live a couple nights ago. Holy fuck they were good! They put on a fucking awesome show(even though Sonse wasnt there? whats up with that? Fredro did shout him out though) They have great energy and really got the crowd hyped as fuck!
I felt sorry for The Likks and The beatnuts afterwards cos they didnt get the same response.
Sticky a beast climbing up on shit and diving into the crowd n shit was goin off. was his birthday once it went past midnight also.

Too be honest teh Beatnuts didnt really do much there were just on stage whilst The likks did all their songs juju(think hes the rapper) did a verse or two and the dj did his bit but e-swift was djing too so it was more like the Likks with beatnuts in the background.

Got to say I respect Onyx but never really got into their albums. "Slam" kind of seemed like a pop hit and they somehow struck me as dudes trying to act hard. Somethin about it didn't seem authentic. That's probably the wrong impression but it kept me from ever getting into their albums.

I disagree. Sure, the hook was catchy and all that but it sounds like straight hip hop to me, far from pop.

I was thirteen when Slam dropped and I know that it ain't a pop song. Pop-ish might be the wrong expression. That hook just always sounded silly. I could never take it seriously despite everybody else thinking it was the shit. To this day I can't enjoy that song.
But you and Remedy are both right 'pop-ish' wasn't very well-worded. That hook simply completely destroyed the intended vibe of the song for me.
