Hi haters, you know the Diplomats. Those guys that got under your skin deep with their cult of fans, constantly new slang, anthem like beats, seemingly nonsensical rhymes, and heavy presence pretty much everywhere in NYC hip hop. You protested again and again with your empty claims of "not being real hip hop", and attacks at their bizarre leader, Killa Cameron Giles.
Well, since they pretty much raped the last decade of NY hip hop with immunity, I figured it's 2010 and time for everyone to look back at their illustrious reign over the game.

Diplomatic Immunity has way more piff than Illmatic. By far.

Diplomatic Immunity is my favourite album to come out the East Coast.
Every summer it becomes time to put on my Dipset playlist on my iphone and bump that shit all summer.

Loved a lot of the three members shit while they was at their peak. Cam'Ron (come home with me & purple haze), Jim Jones (on my way to church) and Juelz Santana (from me to u).
It sorta went downhill from there though.
BUT I see A LOT of praise for "Diplomatic Immunity Pt.1" and yet I've never bumped it. I have a feeling I'm going to LOVE that album. The single "Dipset Anthem" was like my favorite song in 2003 lol. Can't wait to hear this album 8)

Cuz they were fly.
Been bumpin Purple Haze today, and that entire album is bangin. Probably my favorite Dipset solo to drop (Cam's first solo was pretty nice too).

I like the Dips. Theres always been this one beat that illudes me to this day though. Its a banging beat but Ive never known what is was from. I think its a Dipset beat cos it was on Cribs when they was walking around Juelz's crib and it sounds like a Dispet beat but Ive never been able to get the name of it. It kinda sounds like Down N Out beat. Grrrrrr. Anyone?

^^Definitely a legendary track from a legendary album. This two hour Diplomat playlist I just had was so powerful that I'm now wide awake, I'm literally so wide awake that I'm gonna be up for a few more hours now, Dipset is way too powerful. In the last 2 hours I got in some songs from Diplomatic Immunity 1, Purple haze, from me to you, history in the making, sde to name a few. The playlist ended with the legendary Summer Wit Miami, absolutely epic playlist.

funny I just had on Diplomatic Immunity the other day at my boy's crib cuz we were only trying to play "Bout It Bout It Pt. III" and ended up leaving on the rest of the album 8)
Dipset's prime though was definitely '04-'06, I used to get a kick out of some of the dudes at my old school who would come in with their bandanas on like Juelz too and people trying to rock out the pink lol

This thread is a perfect example of why 90% of rap these days is garbage. I actually like the Diplomatic Immunity album but fucking hell, there are too many people in here putting it up with genunely brilliant albums like its some sort of work of art.
All it was was a bunch of average emcees who were on form at the time spitting over sped up soul samples. Thats it. Nothing more.
