I can tell you for a fact he lost much more than the 54 pounds his site claims. I had a similar weight loss a couple years ago (I weighed 215 and within a few months was down to 165). While I looked a lot thinner and to quote Charlie Murphy, it felt like I had a "big fuckin' head", I did not look as frail as 50. Judging on what he looked like before, I'm willing to bet he was closer to 230 pounds before the diet than he was 215.

I have to give him his props for doing that, I don't know if I would if I were his original weight. That's dedication, and if it's bringing in big bucks, you can't really hate on it. Some of it is make-up and everything, but he definitely looks the part. If it wasn't for a movie, he done caught something. That's crazy.

That said, its pretty amazing that he said he accomplished this in 9 weeks. He seems to have lost a ton of muscle mass since he wasn't fat to begin with. He must've gone off the steroids and went on the Hollywood girl diet. Clearly this is for a movie role, since usually someone's goal would be to go FROM looking like a cancer patient TO looking like 50, not the other way around.

2. While it’s unhealthy I don’t think it’s as bad as any of you think. Especially since he has a professional personal nutritionist who’s job is to help him gain and lose weight healthier.
3. He has make-up on to make him appear as a person with cancer. Hence, if you remove the make-up he wouldn’t look as ill or close to death.

I'm sure they don't know its going to dvd while they're filming it. Unless its been already planned as a big budget feature, they're probably making it hoping it will turn out as a great film that audiences will love, and if that happens the studio will put money behind it and market it as a theatrical release.

2. All of the films 50 has been involved in recently is from his own production company Cheetah films (it's actually a joint venture with randall emitt)

He lived across the street from me; he actually died of cancer. It’s a serious topic. One out of eight people in the world die of cancer. It tops HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria together. If you’re not actually gonna die of cancer, chances are someone you’re active with in your life is.
Have you put on weight since then?
Right now I weigh 198 pounds. I’m trying to get back to 200 and then I’ll start weight training again to get my body back together.
