Title: Bishop Lamont missing in action? (lost in hip-hop)
Post by: Action! on May 30, 2010, 09:41:32 PM
Any insider news on Bishop Lamont?

He seemed he was going to come hard body and try to do it solo after he got dropped / left Aftermath/Interscope records then it seemed he went to a complete blackout about his career and had since been silent.

Rebel said he was working on Detox again in some secret cave but there hasn't been one else to confirm this.  Any news from anybody?

That's what makes it kind of disappointing.  If he left after the Confessional I'd be aight.  He did his thing.  But the last thing I'll remember him by is Team America which wasn't my style.  I'm still hoping for a Caltroit Metropolis and some version of the Reformation.

I think Dre really took an L for letting him go.  He really could have been big had he made the right moves under Aftermath.  Pope Mobile and the Confessional were amazing and original mixtapes, even Team America had some heaters on it.  I hope he releases an album in the future.

He's hardly missing in action. He released a full mixtape only a few months ago. He's probably too busy working on new material to worry about saying hello to his internet fans.

has it been a month?

it's been like 5?

TEAM AMERICA dropped at the end of last year

since then there's been 2 or 3 tracks and he's been absent.

Instead of being sensitive about my question don't answer it and let someone with some actual infromation update us.

edit:
all bishop has right now are internet fans besides some west coast fans, probably in cali only.

He was doing interviews in March, he leaked the Gone song last month and we got photos of him working on some movie. Give him a break, he'll come with an update sooner or later. You forget that even when the guy was with Aftermath, almost all of the interviews he was doing was him talking about Detox.

all bishop has right now are internet fans besides some west coast fans, probably in cali only.

no shit, that's all any rapper this forum likes has.

All I'm trying to do is show some love and see if there's any insider information.

I'm not hating on him for the lack of updates.  Shit, I'm a fan and will be.  Obie Trice basically fell off the earth and I still see if he's making moves.  Same with Saigon.

Hell, several of my favorite MC's, rarely release music -

Immortal Technique
Elzhi

or go through gaps of silence

REKS

I was just wondering if anyone had news.

And my comment about his fan base was directed towards someone bringing up Bishop's internet fans.

he's probably working on something as we discuss; but i'm sure he has some form of contact, like a E-Mail or Twitter, no?

somebody just ask.

Word, he was tryna be experimental/comical, but shit was just a fail in every way. Actually, alotta the beats were dope, but made unlistenable by the wack accents and voices etc. Relapse accent >>>>>> Team Americas wackcent

i was waitin for that team america mixtape to drop so i could download the warren g produced track with nate dogg.
that track was originally meant to be for warren g's solo material, but he gave the track to bishop lamont. bishop then took warren's verses off to add his ugly voice on it, which was originally goin to be on the aftermath reformation album, but since he got dropped, he put it on the team america mixtape instead.
maybe its better that the track aint released, so then warren can use the original track without bishop lamont, and put it on warren's next solo album

hes workin at a local walmart
He's done a Hittman.

I'm still trying to find out who produced the track. The kick and snare hit hard like a Dre beat... but it's possible he may have just mixed it.

i think of this  :camp:  about people who make useless & unnecessary posts like this:
Quote
we all know he tried to slit his wrists because he got dropped from the math, lol

too bad Bishop has been one of the most genuine & consistent hip-hop artists to make a DECENT name for himself in the vast emptiness of NOBODY rappers, wannabe gangsta thug life layabouts that saturate the good name of the west coast. as in all his street albums were hands down dope & superseded anything in mainstream hip-hop or even anything remotely mainstream. y'all just haters that DRE didn't put him out in a timely manner. so what!! I would rather see a down to earth Bishop than just 'some overly payed for NO REASON 'prima donna'

fuck that shit dogg, dude is talented w/ writing & the fact he's a diffrent kind of dude in general then what you usually get out of a "Rapper", i think  the hip-hop world needs more individuals & not these carbon copy faggots like your favorite rapper....

FUCK commercialism, Bishop in many ways defied that shit, which explains why they dropped him or he left.  :'(

I'm not sure when he recorded it. In his verse he does give rep to Aftermath, Dre, Em and what not as if he's signed to Dre. However, his camp did say that it will be on his debut- the now newly titled "God Damn Nigga, It's About Fucking Time!".

rebel you are a lucky dude to be able to have heard 'i dominate', sounds like it could have been a crazy track. was bishop spitting fast on it?

Bishop and Dre both spit solid on the joint. But it's a commercial song... meant for the radio and clubs. It was like a techno/rap record but with a bit more flavor than the leaked "Under Pressure" track.

I mean, I could. But there are songs that I don't have permission to leak or was asked not to leak them. And if I talk about any of them then members of this and other forums will get extremely irritated and hateful towards me, haha.
