Crooked I Commences "Hip-Hop Weekly Reloaded" - By : Rud - August 11, 2010

April 4th, 2007 saw the start of an incredible year for Crooked I. The commencement of the series called Hip Hop Weekly that saw Crooked pick a famous hip hop instrumental every week - for a year - and rip it! Those 52 weeks, finally ending on April 3, 2008 had helped captapult Crooked I back to the forefront of those minds that had forgotten him. From there he continued to release news music and of course formed Slaughterhouse with Joe Budden, Royce 5'9" and Joell Ortiz
Now he's back again with the announcement Hip Hop Weekly Reloaded, a new series that will see him once again ripping well known instrumentals. First up for week one, Gang Starr's "Mass Appeal"

I'm in two minds about him doing this. Whilst I thought the first hip-hop weekly series was absolutely amazing and one of the best things in hip-hop, I feel that doing a second series will blight the memory of the first and borders on overkill. You can have too much of a good thing and Crooked should try to avoid over-exposure and saturation.
That said I will check this out though.

I enjoyed the previous weekly series, so I'm really looking forward for the Reloaded Series. Always good to hear Crooked spit over classic beats. Hope he will chose some classic beats ! Would love to hear Crooked over Biggie's One more chance Remix

HHW shit is still dope but I prefer hearing Crook outshine rappers on tracks like Scarface, the rest of SH, Raekwon, Mos Def, Kurupt, Snoop and everyone else he's worked with

lmao. You Crooked stans are really amusing. Like stated above, crooked has no idea how to compose songs (ok, rappers like Snoop are the same in this aspect, but he had Dre), all he can do is rap his 'freestyles' over a beat.
PS: And I do know that he has some legit songs. But you can't tell me he prefers to release his 'freestyles' over the intenet for free for the rest of his 'career' instead of making some original music and sell it to a wider audience. Obviously, he isn't able to create a decent album because he is nothing but a mixtape rapper.
And please don't tell me he has no album yet only because of label politics :D

Crooked I ........is good people... and he plays the business...having a weekly internet series will boost hype around him and he will be able to sell more tickets to his shows....so this is marketing strategy....if he releases and album it gets downloaded once and that is it...no more hype...but with everyone checking for him every week he keeps the hype going and all he needs is to write some clever rhymes..the dude is a genius....and he got skills.....
