1998 was the first year I really started using the internet. Back then there was one website SnoopsDogghouse that I used to frequent a lot. That was like the first hip-hop website I ever went to. I also regularly checked Billboard.com to see what albums were selling. And I used AOL instant messenger and yahoo e-mail and that was pretty much it. In 99 I started visiting Eminem's website regularly when it was associated with hip-hopsite.com, and then the Dreday forum started poppin with a lot of exclusives tracks and info. That was my start on the internet. Slow ass dial-up.

I used to go into chatrooms when I was young.
One time I went into a Michael Jackson AOL Chatroom. And they we not fans, and they where calling me names, like a Pedophile, and said they was going to take machetes to me, so I said 'I'ma kill you all muthafuckas' and AOL kicked me off, completely, and my moms had to call to fix it and she asked why it wasn't working and they told her, and I got my fuckin' ass. beat. I still can still hear her repeating ''I'ma - kill - you - all - MUTHAFUCKAS - ?'... I ran like hell outta my room.. and this is the reason my computer is in the Kitchen.

You guys remember how much it used to suck at porn on a dial up modem. You would sit there for a minute or two just to see a pic of a titty. And you had those moments where it would freeze right before you even get to see the goods. Being able to watch a 30 second clip was on luxury shit. Those were the days.

Can't believe they still sell dial up plans here. They should be free.

ya first time was 98 with dial up, AOL free versions, used chat ALOT and opened email account...but i didnt start using websites and forums until 2000 and after, i didnt know hip hop websites until after that

I started using internet around '99, 2000.. I was 9/10 a.t.m. so the first forum I was on was for some funny clips, then I saw the hiphop section.. That got me linked to Realestniggas.com.. I still visit that site to this day.
That site was what got me to dubcnn.com

15 mins a day was all my dad let me be online for, lol.
Was mostly for keeping me updated on football.

aaah the good old days of dial-up. i remember getting excited about being able to interact with people over a computer...first starting to use MSN to chat to school friends, getting onto IRC, it taking an hour to download a Craig David song from Napster and then Kazaa and more 'adult' materials 8)
and using babelfish translator to cheat in French class 8)

Shit I remember first using the internet at school in 1996. They had one connection for multiple computers, so it was slooooooooooooooow as fuck. It would take at least 5 minutes to load a page. Although I got a computer in mid 90s I didn't really start using the internet until around 2002. Mostly looking up sports news, chatting, and downloading. Around 2005 when I first got on dubcc is when I became a hardcore user. Dubcc was the gateway drug.

My high-school got it on Silicon Graphics Computers with a T1 connection back in 96 or 97. To this day I've never had a faster connection than when the T1 was only connected to like 5 computers in the school. I actually remember the Snoopsdogghouse website. I would mainly use it for video game, wrestling, and west coast rap info. I remember hiphopdx I think it was called, lordsofpain.net for wrestling. Those days felt a lot simpler and these days.
