It won't be downloaded for free, but this just leaked. They shipped copies & some God put it online lol.
Then he didn't clear the samples for the ones you can purchase in stores on November 9th; so that copy is wack.
The best copy you can have is a leaked version of the one that fans bought online from him; which has the samples.

2) I doubt this release is better than half the albums on that list.
3) Budden is a bit of a niche rapper, if you fit into that niche, of course you are gonna love the music. That ain't no Stan.

It had five good songs and the rest bored me - Follow Your Lead being one of the good five. It's all about personal preference. Budden isn't pop, but he isn't quite underground enough. Lol.

He said himself he gonna bring not only a problem, but a solution on this album.
Like his beat choice, lots of grown up classy production, then the usual dark emo beats. Thought Remember the Titans shoulda had a better beat tho... I like about half the songs on this, not as strong as Escape Route.
Role Reversal is probably one of the deepest tracks he's done in recent years. If this was on the typical Budden production, y'all would be praising this song to death.
This release will stand as a testament to Joe's penmanship. Is he really a great lyricist, or did he just tap into a bunch depressed listeners with wise beat selection?

after listening to it all a few times,
mood music 2 & 3 >> mood music 4.
i dont think its the lyrical content that makes the album wack in my eyes, joey comes correct on most tracks, i think its the boring & lack of different styles of beats on the album that knocks it down in my eyes heavily.
the intro and second track "aftermath" set a great tone n i expected big things, but then it all just sounded boring & mostly the same.
when you take tracks such as "Secrets" "All of Me" "Dumb Out" "World Takeover" etc from previously mood music releases, there is just no competition.
thats just my 2 cents...

I haven't given this a proper listen as in with a head set on but based on what I've heard and skimmed through, he still has some of the same problems as he did before which is mastering and mixing (if that's what it's called, not sure on technical terms). That's to say his beat selection then and now was never bad, just the final sound was off. It still seems to be the case here. A drum will sound hollow or the beat will sound off. Not sure how I feel about that.
But, with that said, it all sounded dope to me. I like Budden's new direction. I don't care if duke is mainstream or not as long he doesn't dumb down his rhymes. Joe Budden has/had a lot of issues and him moving past that isn't a problem.
Again, I have yet to give this a proper listen.

J. Cardim re-released Remember The Titans after he properly finished it. He said he wasn't given enough time for his tracks to be mixed properly.

The problem is I live in Canada, and Creed and Nickelback have been force fed down my throat for years, and their sound and vibe has become so annoying to me. To hear that sample on the song is just a total turn off for me.
In the same way you might not like No Love because it reminds you of the corny dudes from Night at the Roxbury, when it's trying to be a serious song..
If you haven't been exposed to Creed/Nickelback alot, you might be able to dig it, but I can't. Fuck the essence of hip-hop, if it sounds whack, it's whack.

The sample less version sounds far superior than the free one. It's got the volume turned up properly. Yeah, there's samples missing and several dope tracks but it's nice to have a percentage of them with dope mixing. Really feeling it.

Alright, I've concluded I like the retail version better. Some of the beats are just better, and better suited to Joe's mood.
And it doesn't sound like remixes either, they actually fit well.
To the people who didn't like the beats on the original, cop the retail version!
The only beat I enjoyed more on the sample version is Stuck in the Moment.
