I don't get it.
IMO he is not a good rapper, he never has been and probably never will be. I've heard his new material and other than being funny its pretty rubbish.

well, I liked this guy way before he signed to Shady, and the reason everyone likes him now is probably cause of his beef with Ja Rule. Everyone hates Ja Rule right? I feel you 2, I had heard How 2 Rob but that was about it and evena fter listening to that I didnt think he was much cop, but I felt his shit on the 8 mile soundtrack and I am highly anticipating his album. You say that everyone likes him NOW because Em has basically brought him into the game, well that how music works bud, he has impressed em and dre that much that they paid the 1 mil to get him because they saw sumit in him that they did not see in anybody else in the music business. They saw a young, raw, talent that was ready to be unleashed to his full potential, you say everyone is on him because em has brought him in, but dre really brought em in, thats the way the music business works. You keep droppin shit until you get recognised and signed to a major label, 50 has done this well, so I am supporting this fool all the way.!!!

Don't be so pessimistic, man. It's because he signed with a major, of course he's got more exposure now. I hadn't heard his stuff before he got signed, I didn't even hear how to rob back in the day. Since all the mtv coverage and stuff, and Wanksta bein' thrown on 8 mile, I've heard him, and been like "yeah, he's dope", I'm sure the same thing happened to 10 million other people, that's why there's so much hype. If everybody was riding his nuts because of Em, then wouldn't they be doing the same to Obie Trice? Nobody gives a sh*t about him.

* 50 was known as the mixtape-king WAY before he signed with Aftermath
* He has dissed half of the industry, and the ones that answered pretty much made themselves look like a fool, or doesn't dare to respond.
* On the Eastcoast, 50 was probably THE most hyped underground cat in a VERY long time. He could basically roll the dice to what label he wanted to sign to.
The buzz was for a big record for 50 was pretty high, even if 50 was a Eastcoast-phenomen.. The West never cared until "The West" more or less signed him. (Signing for the biggest Westcoast label)

Being dissed by the best lyricists and the most-selling rappers is not being a nobody. It means the top cats are recognizing your skills, and when they retaliate it means they have something to defend. Ignoring 50 would be a whole another story..

It all started with "How To Rob" and that record was just a joke. It was like a roast and the Mad Rapper was repeating "this ain't serious", both those guys said it was a joke plus they even went after the guys who produced the song "I been skeamin' on Tone and Poke since they found me/ Steve know not to wear that platinum shit around me". Then everyone (Sticky, Ghost...) got shook after that and started goin' off on 50. So he shot back at them.

Looks like everybody's been drinking their hater-aid for the holidayz. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, so here's mine. 50 Cent been around for a while and when he first dropped all he did was dis EVERYBODY. But, just like with Van Gogh, 50 Cent's debut album Power of the Dollar was never released because of bootlegging. It's a shame, I think that album is tight as hell and I love the fact that he disses a lot of fools I don't like, prime example Ja Rule. So I would have to agree with earlier posts he is entertaining. His mic skillz aren't Super, but he's pretty good when he comes correct, but he does have some whack shit, c'mon who doesn't. Fact is this fools been shot on 2 separate occassions and jacked Ja-Fool for his chain which is on the cover to 50 Cent's CD Guess Who's Back which is also pretty tight. I can't comment on his mix cds since I haven't heard all of them, but I recently ordered some through a online hiphopsite. And I ain't really feeling Wanksta all that much, it's aiight, but I think his earlier work was better. Only thing I'm confused on is in the beginning I thought he had beef with Nas, but it seems they are cool now. And don't nobody be trippin and hating on me, this is my opinion. And I ain't biased I'm str8 from the westcoast, but got to give a MC propz when he deserves them. Half the fools saying he's wack probably ain't even given him chance and listened to his shit. I went through that shit with Nas, I heard some of his so called hits and I wasn't feeling him. Then one day this fool came in my job and hit me up with a copy of Illmatic and I changed my mind, some of that shit on the Lost Tapes is pretty tight too, but Nas also has wack shit. I think I'm feeling him too since I can't stand that magilla gorilla looking, 2pac song stealing, no talent ass rapper Jay-Z. And it is kind of common sense that people would like 50 Cent more now that he's hooked up with Eminem, hmm he's maybe one of the biggest household names in rap other than Snoop. Why hate on him for that, shit why hate on people for joining the bandwagon, it's just music. We should only listen to people who nobody else listens to, only listen to 'underground' music of each and every tom dick and harry that has a soundblaster. If somebody gets signed by a major label, we are automatically expected to hate them at all costs; they should have stayed unheard of (but we've heard of them) and should never be allowed the pleasure of having any kind of widespread fame or success, much less financial security. As soon as someone like 50 signs with a major label, we should immediately label them a sellout, never give any of their music a chance, and withdraw to some newer artist nobody's ever heard of. Also, whenever someone mentions 50, we should talk about how much better he was before he went major, and talk about how many years we've been 'down' with him. Because that's something to brag about; life is all about being dickriders when they're underground, but not when they blow up.
