I can't wait to hear this. I'm sure it's phenomenal. His whole career, David Banner has struggled with trying to be a mainstream artist to make $ but in his soul, he knows he just wants to make real music.

This has classic potential

What is the retail release date?

I don't follow dude's career, but I've never seen him trying to make anything other than mainstream music.

Unless you count crunk as mainstream he's right.

When he was with Kamikaze in the group Crooked Lettaz. Southern rap classic. But yeah past his first 2 albums, his sound solo wise has changed alot.

i gotta say it this album is the fucking bomb, one of the best things i've heard this year :bandit:

the whole vibe of it is just! slow down :bandit:

david banner is a bit coarse and ruins some of the smooth beats, but his raps are alright generally. really surprising but on a first listen i knew the shit was really knocking. these 1 producer projects are really killing a lot of albums for quality sounds, like the freeway/jake one or nottz/rah digga.

People getting tired of a album having 50 guests and producers, sounding all over the place. But yeah this is very cohesive, much like Fornever 9th did with Murs.

yup that's a major one i forgot to mention. that album was incredible, cause i easily like murs much more than freeway, david banner or rah digga and the beats was super funky 8)

A album like this is just what Banner needed. His last 2 or 3 albums were all over the place and had no real flow to them.

I think I'll buy this album. If the rest of the songs are on the same level of the already leaked songs this is gonna be one of the best releases this year.

dope album...however am i the only one who doesnt think 9th Wonders beats sound best when they're polished like they are on this album?

i mean like slow down for example, the album version is very different to the version that leaked a while back, and to be honest i thought that one banged harder...gonna check out the other leaks to see if they are also different

so did they only release an edited version of the album or did the explicit one just not leak yet?

If anyone has ever read David Banner interviews, it's very obvious he would rather make "real" music but he has let himself give in for the money (the sound of his solo albums).

Some tracks edited in my copy, but not all, although there is not a lot of censoring anyways....

This album is exactly what I expected. Real hip-hop at its finest. I've always known Banner had this in him. He refused to be a slave to a major on this record & I believe this is exactly the album he's always wanted to make since he first signed to a major but was never allowed to do so.

It's very consistent as you'd guess (one producer).

One of my favorite albums I've heard in a long time. I'll put this next to that new Ghostface record.

Top 3:

Stutter
Slow Down
Be With You
