Now this is a bit surprising, looking forward to more info, here's what we know so far...
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Doggy Dogg 3 Disc Set
Label: WIDEAWAKE - DEATH ROW
Price Code: AU
Cat Number: WIA-CD-9298
UPC: 798304092981
Release Date: 03/08/2011
Genre: RAP
Format: CD FULL LENGTH
I would think one of the disc is going to be a greatest hits disc, hopefully the other 2 are unreleased songs and not Doggystyle and Tha Doggfather.
-
Knowing WideAwake, this will probably have 45 songs of which 38 are new.
Either way, I wouldn't complain if there's unheard/unleaked stuff on there ;D
-
let me guess: disc 1 is doggystyle & disc 2 is doggfather
-

If that would have The Next Episode on it, WA will get my money just for that song alone.
-
I have a feeling this is going to be all released tracks.
-
if this was a 3 disc set of unreleased snoop, id pay for it right now!

yeah I guess I would buy it for that track but I don't think they can release anything with Dre's vocals
-
I hope unreleased stuff will be featur too.
Good to see that they plan next release in march. Hopefully they drop on a monthly base this year. Keep it original and i will buy/support all of them.
-
Ive seen this in stores for a few months now...its basically doggfather, lost sessions, and murder was the case packaged together...good price though 19.99$....but yeah shits been out for a while...

you're right that's what this turned out to be, but it's a Canada only release.

What in fuck kinda shit is that? These fools at Wideawake are smoking crack and methamphetamines at the same time out the same pipe yo.
-
why would anybody buy some relased tracks?if it was unreleased snopp album,i a buy it.
-
Not sticking up for WideAwake, but even if it were all released tracks, you guys gotta remember that the average hip-hop fan isn't as into this shit as we are. I could see a rerelease of Snoop's albums and guest appearances from Death Row selling better than most other projects stored in the vault. Those albums came out 15 and 18 years ago so I bet a lot of people that bought those albums back in the day either lost or ruined their copies. For us it sucks, but for a business move it's not THAT ridiculous.
-
There won't be any unreleased songs

From a product sales point, Doggfather and Murder Was The Case have not been released since Wideawake purchased the catalog so I can see putting them out. I'm actually surprised at how slowly they are putting out the previously-released catalog albums.
-
whatever!
-
Anyone know what's on the dvd?
prolly Snoop's music videos from his Death Row dayz..

lame...slap in the face to all of us who've purchased these already
i do love me some DVD's though so if it's maddd cheap I may buy it. it's nice having backups of CDs too.
-
they should just release The Lost Sessions vol 2, I know theres plenty in the vault

nah they want to keep the death row formula alive by reissuing old stuff ;D

People will bitch about anything. This is a solid release for people who don't have these albums. It's all 3 for the price of one. And it's not a boxset it's the three CDs just with the sleeve over them. If you have these CDs who cares, if you don't it's a solid release at a cheap price.
-
this is a lame release. they should really focus on all the vault tracks at the rate some of the unreleased tracks are leaking out nowadays. you'd think they'd learn... ::) push/ promote the new shit & just creep out those re-releases... yea they should release on a monthly basis, 1 month new material, the next old & keep it going like that...
-

yep just throw on If Theres a Cure, Just Watchin, STreet Life and 15 filler songs for all I care :D

No kidding @ the slowness. Put every album back out on iTunes at the least and slap a couple bonus tracks on each of them. The overhead on that shit is pennies and the average joe on iTunes is much more likely to purchase that stuff then say a Sam Sneed album. Not saying I don't want the Sneed album but common business sense would tell you to first digitally rerelease all the classic albums with a couple bonus tracks to build up some money for promotions of future releases.
-
This "would" have been the ideal solution for everyone:
Re-release the entire back catalogue discography with the WIDEawake stamp - possibly add 1/2 bonus track(s) relating to that release. They should have done this straight after the Chronic re-lit..
Doggystyle (with Gz Up Hoes Down)
Above The Rim (Lord G - Deeper, 2Pac - Pain)
Murder Was The Case (OFTB - Hot One)
Dogg Food (lets play house OG)
etc.
& followed that formula by re-releasing x3 every month, sit back and generate some revenue without using large amounts of unreleased material so that they could have put out those full quality unreleased albums later that were actually of CD quality, and not sloppy bootleg-like Japanese releases
The videos will probably be youtube rips on a data CD only viewable on a computer

Business wise this will prob make more money than any of the vault albums.
