i was too into cassie to notice anything else...

"Roll up" is One of the worst attempts at a crossover, poppy, cheesy mainstream song. I mean it's being successful but the agenda behind it is painfully obvious ::)
-
not bad after one listen, maybe 3-4 tracks that were meh but the rest was pretty cool, good shit to play in the ride or if you're just straight chillin'
I have to be honest though, I think Kush & OJ > this
-
dope, Im listening to this now and feeling the first track for sure....Not sure what to expect with this mainstream album, but Ive been following Wiz for quite awhile now and have got lots of dope material from all the mixtapes hes put out and his album with Currensy. Its crazy to see how big hes doing it now compared to when I first started listening to him. I remember watching him on ustream a couple years ago when he was streaming live in his moms basement.
-
hmm after a quick listen... this seems super soft and super commercial lol.

i agree.. i expected it would turn out this way

I don't even think its that successful at least compared to Black and Yellow but I get what your saying
-
my fav tracks are
when im gone
wake up
the race
fly solo
rooftops
cameras
the rest is just ok. The overall sound of the album is pretty consistent, but like Nima said, you can tell they were going for the "commercial" sound to sell this album, bigtime.
-
Yeah I was hella anticipating the album after "Get On My Level" and "The Race" but naw, I kept fuck with this lol.

Ya definitely not as successful as "Black & Yellow" but that was HUGE. "Roll Up" is still a successful single.
-
The song with Currensy! 8)
-
Roll Up reminded of a Nelly joint. Wasn't feeling it.
-
lol, nope.
EDIT: "The Race" is tight though.
-
wow, really glad i sampled this on youtube before buyin...with the exception of like 4 tracks this shit is pretty gay..not what i was expecting at all...will not support..
-
Is it just me or does "Wake Up" & "Roll Up" sound the same? lol.
-
I hear crazy Kid Cudi & Nelly influences. Anyone else?
I really like,
When I'm Gone Dope intro. Most other cats save this kind of track as the last song.
Hopes and Dreams
Top Floor I like that indian influence.
Rooftop Curren$y feature = :)
Wiz Khalifa isn't really my style. He can flow, nice smooth vocals. Sounds better harmonizing that most other new comers.
Album has really nice cohesive atmosphere to it, very ambient. I hope there's an instrumental version released. It's got me looking forward to more Curen$y's albums.
-
Velvet panty soft rhymes and beats. Good album to play around chick you're stuck in friend zone with.
-
can't believe how this guy blew up..album has some bangin tunes like on my level but shit is corporate, gay, insipid and boring
-
I know it's easy to blame labels BUT look at atlantics track record now... B.O.B, lupe fiasco- lasers, now this.... I think it's painfully obvious Atlantic is pushing this sound out.
-
Album is waaaay to soft and label formed. :-X
Every other thing Wiz ever put out >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMZ7hbupTaI !
-
hmm after a quick listen... this seems super soft and super commercial lol.
exact same that happened to B.O.B...dudes need to leave the majors alone and start making the music they want to make :grumpy: :grumpy:
-
Atlantic has figured out the formula; one or two nice selling singles = sales.
B.o.B. = Airplanes & Nothin' On You
Lupe = The Show Goes On & Words I Never Said
Wiz = Black & Yellow & Roll Up
The rest of the album doesn't matter to them, so they figure let's just make those songs sound like singles and hopefully another one catches for a third single.
-
Album sounds like how i thought it would. Very commercial. So im not too disappointed. I think a lot of the tracks a laid back an cool. Ill bump this.
-
Regardless of how Wiz's sound has changed for better or worse I wish him the best. B.o.B.'s album and Lupe's album both made it to no. 1, now it's time for Wiz to take the title.
Taylor Gang or Die 8)
-
It's Got Some Nice Tracks On It But I'm Not To Impressed By This One!! Will Have To Go Through It Again!!

lol?i mean do you really think Show Goes On & Words I Never Said are the only "Single"-tracks?i mean you can smell Atlantic Records all over the record...do you think Lupe made tracks like Out Of My Head & Break The Chain for fun? ;D
-
^True.
-

Fuck Atlantic Records !
-
theres definitely some good cuts on the album.
im not mad at this
-
Too soft and commercial for my liking. There's a few cool tracks.
I still don't think he's topped Kush and Orange Juice, which I think is his best material.
