Noooooooooo!!! This should not go on Detox. It's don't fit for the album. I like that Dre is doing different kind of records but, Detox should be tha straight hardcore westcoast music that we love from Dre mixed in with where Dre is today (as far as lyrical content). I know Stat Quo, Bishop Lamont, and The D.O.C. have all wrote some great material for Dre.

Dre's lyric is dope but the track must be far from finished.

There's a big empty hole in the middle of the sound.

Missing the main keys or something? :-\

I don't like it because there's nothing on a musical level to like...

neither have i, but other than kush and inad we haven't heard any finished detox tracks yet. and i don't really consider either of those to be part of the album. both will prob end up being bonus tracks.

Dre has got such a dope voice. Shame he can't get a beat to match it. Track overall is below average.

outside of shit popped off, i think this song has the most potential of all the leaks/releases i've heard associated with detox. we will probably never hear the finished version though.

prob should have released this in place of kush.

it has a different sound to it, which i like. i'm tired of hearing the same shit over and over.

Well granted Dre would make that BOOM BOOM POW jump out with the final mix.

All the elements are just a bit disjointed right now, but I can feel Dre's energy on it and it's crazy!

song is cool, i like it better than chillin but thats not sayin much, i only listened to that once (swizz beatz hook? really dre?).

the beat to this is kinda catchy and dres flow sounds better but i cant get with sly sounding like nate dogg.. sorry maybe its just too soon since his passing.. this was probably recording before his death anyway but still, very weird listening to this.

Post by: Detox Is A Myth!!! on March 22, 2011, 06:24:48 AM
This is a farce.  What is this nonsense?  The Dr. Dre we grew up with and loved could have thrown this song together in five mins back in the 90s.  Wow, how the mighty have fallen.  :'(  Chillin was ok.  I liked it.  I also liked the one with Jay-Z.  And of course Topless is still the best of all the "Detox"-affiliated tracks over the years.  The only way to make sense of this is to conclude that this is a farce.

one question... is this still a hip hop music? i mean, nowadays you got guys rapping on songs of any genres... and this one doesn't sound like hip hop song imo (except the vocals)

edit: i think i know now... Dre must have made that beat for Lady Gaga but she never used it

It was probably a place-holder like Kush was. If Nate had made a full recovery, he'd have been on the tracks.

let's face some facts. Nate was in bad condition. He couldn't walk or even speak... I'm not saying he had no chances for full recovery. i only say it was impossible to recover in a year or two. You're really that naive to think Dre would wait for Nate for such a long time? No disrespect man... i just think Sly was a replacement. That's much more possible...

edit: i bet sooner or later some Stans will come up with something like "It took Dre so long to put out Detox because he was waiting for Nate to recover" ;)

I'm making an observation. Not stating it's 100% factual, not sure what part of that isn't getting through. I've seen first hand what a stroke can do and know the odds aren't good of a full recovery after a stroke. Dre for all we know might have been hopeful of a recovery.

OG Will_B is right tho, if he puts Gaga on this, it would be a massive radio heat, in my opinion.

Dope ass beat. Though Dre's unconfident and rushed verse and open space at the end shows that this track is unfinished. It also shows what kind of sound Dre was going for at one point for Detox (same goes for Kush, Under Pressure and INAD). Not sure if this is the sound that'll be ultimately used on Detox but it seems that Dre's gone through at least 3 different sounds for it at this point. Those that sounded like 2001 leftovers (as heard on the The Knoc & Weed Snortin'), the orchestral bangers with thick ass bass (Get Low, Outta Control Remix, Where I'm From) and the club-type techno sound Akon was talking about (Under Pressure & this). I'm sure this forum's already debated and can explain like a dozen different stages Detox has been through at this point though.

"We always love a Dr. Dre project," Busta told SOHH about his anticipation for Detox. "We just want it to come out already. [As far as 'Kush'], I've heard better songs on the album, so I'm looking forward to it coming out. The 'Kush' record was cool but I know for a fact that he has some records on that album that are unbelievable."

OH HELL NO!

it's unfinished, but finished/unfinished has all been wack anyway. concept for the beat is poor, on some generic sounding dance vibe. dre sounds ok, but again with the corny vocal adlibs. detox could still be good if this is the general direction, but based on everything we heard it's gonna be terrible.

real talk... i can;t understand all this "finished/unfinished" bullshit. it's like the effects or mastering could save the song. no.. they can't. melody is a melody. effects and mix/mastering is just a polishing. and you can't polish shit, right? it's like the movies. effects don't make movies good... it's all about the plot, the acting, screenplay and the list goes on

We don't say that this shit is not mastered we say that's unfinished... miss some vocals in the middle and some melody cuz the beat is really empty.

Unfinished = miss some vocals, miss effects on the pattern, etc etc
Mastering = polish the song for a good radio/auto/mp3/computer listen

i've come out with mastering as an example. yeah that could make some confusion, sorry. but this does not change my point at all...

just like Matty said we can clerly hear this song won't change that much when finished because we can hear the beat, the MAIN melody and all the stuff that makes the song. Obviously some things are missing but but the main core and even more already exists in this version. any add ons that would come up in finished version are only fillers to the MAIN melody...

ok i suggest going back to the topic

Dre has got such a dope voice. Shame he can't get a beat to match it. Track overall is below average.
you mean it's a shame that he can't get his head straight

song is cool, i like it better than chillin but thats not sayin much, i only listened to that once (swizz beatz hook? really dre?).

the beat to this is kinda catchy and dres flow sounds better but i cant get with sly sounding like nate dogg.. sorry maybe its just too soon since his passing.. this was probably recording before his death anyway but still, very weird listening to this.

It was probably a place-holder like Kush was. If Nate had made a full recovery, he'd have been on the tracks.

if wishes were horses beggars would ride...

and who told you it was a place-holder? was it confirmed. and if it was... was it before or after Nate's passing?
Not saying it's 100% fact, but with having Sly sound like Nate on two different tracks, to me it sounds like it was a place holder.

let's face some facts.

Dre for all we know might have been hopeful of a recovery.

i'm sure Nate contributed to Detox at one point, so i don't believe that Dre was really waiting on nate.

Reminds me of Kraftwerk.  I love this beat tho.  Nikki Grier sounds good on this too.

As for people saying Lady Gaga would sound good on this:  I was wondering why Dre isn't producing for anyone else right now to build the buzz for Detox.  He should have done Lady Gags first single, Snoops first single, Rihanna....even Akon.  He should be all over the radio right now to get people interested in him.  Like how Bitch Please was real big right before 2001 came out.  If this beat was given to lady gaga (or even Britney Spears) it would be huge.

After dowlnloading Kush and I need a Doctor I was starting to doubt Dre. Both songs contained a lot of irritating noises. It confused me since Dre's beats always been formulaic: every sound had its function and was dope and couldnt be let out.

Then I heard the official mixes on the video's, and even though my ears were all ready getting used to the whack mp3 versions, I realised both songs where much cleaner and better than the MP3 leak versions.

Now today i heard this song. And this beat is fire. I realise when this is mixed and mastered professionaly, so the bass will be more to the forefront, this will be next level.

The rap dance combination has never been done in a dope form. Horrible shit from Florida etc. Now Dre puts his focus on this, it can be really big. Imagine the futuristic sounds of Thriller or Parliament Funkadelic in a uptempo bassdrivin clubbeat with a simple but effective raps on it.

If this is Dre's direction for Detox it will be at least as good and have an impact as big as its two predecessors.

Few points -

Dres verse has a little more character to it than recently. Although the lyrics are suspect at times.

The basis to the production sound like after a few tweaks and obviously finished could be a "club banger"

Sly doesn't sound like Nate dogg on this but he doesn't sound good

LOL at people who like Chillin. That track was terrible.

Dre has got such a dope voice.

--------------------------------------------------------

i have to disagree...i think his voice delivery and tone have never been "dope" and he knows it too thats why he always has niggas all over his albums...ive seen him say in interviews that he hates the way he sounds on the mic and i understand...his vision lies in the music.

this song is underwhelming but then again so is almost everything else ive heard from him lately.

Disagree that his vocal deliveries never have been dope. I think he has one of the dopest voices of all time
in the history of hip hop. If I could, I would have replaced a couple of features on his songs in favour for
some more verses by Dre.

Agree that the song is underwhelming. Nothing new or revolutionary in any way, sounds like some early
90´s euro-dance/disco like 2Unlimited, Snap, Captain Hollywood, Haddaway or whatever. WTF!

Still hope Detox will be some funky futuristic  8) hip hop...

“SO MANY GIRLS” – USHER

“I did this track at the top of 2009, maybe 2008. Either way, I did the track and was like This. Is. Crazy. I originally did the track for Dr. Dre for Detox. I know Jimmy Iovine heard it and liked it but I don’t know if Dre heard it. It was intended for him and that was that. So after going through the hoops of if he heard or not, I just ended up giving it to Usher way later. I knew at this point he needed a single and they were going to go with it as a single at one point, but they did a couple other songs.”

this track is on the exact same vibe, but better.

Alright, now that I've given it some spins, this song is a club banger, without doubt better than Chillin'.

Maybe not West Coast, but this kind of beat is what is a banger today.

Honestly, if this was finished & he took away that wanna-be Nate part, it could arguably be my favorite over "Kush" & "I Need A Doctor".

Got damn this song is insane! Just needs more dre verses and less sly

But this also proves dre is lost. This wouldve been a perfect first single to get him all over the radio

1 - mr prescription (get him on the radio)
2 - kush (for the lifelong fans)
3 - I need a doctor (farewell single)

I could see this song doing well on the radio and in the clubs once it is finished.

I wonder if hooks are just reference vocals and if they were planning on adding another feature artist on the track.

I actually like Sly on the song.  8)

Anyone that says Under Pressure or this song is wack needs to move on with the times

I love Hip Hop, from KRS-1, to NWA, to G Funk Era, To Wu, Nas, BIG, some Jigga, Snoop, Eminem, 2001 era, Kanye, Lupe, Lil Wayne. I like the old stuff, but the new stuff is great. This is what is hitting these days in clubs, something a lil more uptempo. This would go off in clubs. This is the direction Dre needs to go into. He always is known to change a Genre, and some of the people here still want everything to sound liek G Funk, or 2001 era. Gotta realise that things change and you adapt to it or get left behind in the wind.

This song is obviously unfinished but despite the leak I hope Dre keeps workin on it and releases this, along with Under Pressure, Shit Popped Off, This is Detox

I love Topless, and Kush, but it sounds too much like 2001. It sounds only slightly evolved from that era. I need a Doctor was more an Eminem paying tribute/trying to inspire Dre.

However these songs I've listed would bang in cars and clubs and will be the thing that brings Dre back to the top of the game.

“SO MANY GIRLS” – USHER

“I did this track at the top of 2009, maybe 2008. Either way, I did the track and was like This. Is. Crazy. I originally did the track for Dr. Dre for Detox. Khalils definitely had a hand in this track, drums even sound similiar to Kush. Track is ok, Nikki sounds dope on it, the build up in the middle is kind of sick too, more of a dance track. Would like to hear this finished, shit would go in the clubs. This must of been when Dre was fucking with the dance tracks, Slim said it was 3 years old

I like this track. I think the beat is dope. (Khalil elements/sounds or am i up too late and im hearing things that arent there?)

I definitely agree that Dre's voice is dope too.

Seriously, you like it knowing that this might be on detox,at least might be the direction...i don't see the difference with what the BEP put nowadays...

I dont like it just for the simple fact that it MIGHT be on Detox. As far as what to expect for Detox, a couple years ago i used to expect/want Detox to be on some westcoast gangsta classic Dre vibe just updated for 00's. but not im not expecting any particular direction. Not expecting or looking out for G-Funk beats on a 2011 vibe, not expecting club/dance tracks or laidback westcoast gangsta tracks, just taking each track as it comes and judging it on what it is. I like this coz i think the drums are sick, Nikki sounds dope and Dre sounds dope. thats it.

what's dope in these drums? what's dope in Nikki and Dre? this is SERIOUS question... can you explain me what stands out in this song in comparision with recent pop hits? Because i think it's a weak song even for a pop standards. Beat sounds like it was made for Lady Gaga but she refused using it becaus it was too weak for her standards. Sly sounds like Timbo-wannabe and Dre sounds like any other rap act on pop songs. Maybe i'm wrong but i really think this song is THAT WEAK. FYI - i'm not hating. I  have no expectations for detox or recent rap music. i can listen to any genre that can provide good music...

if dre wants to go a certain direction with the album, i am sure it will be dope. right now we are analyzing a three year old unfinished track that most likely won't be on the album, so it's kinda pointless to get worked up over it.

What the flying fuck is this?  I was hyped in hearing this from some of the responses to this thread, but this to me is easily the worst of the supposed Detox track so far.  It's almost painful to listen to, and the arrangement is all over the place, just sounds like too many noises trying to compete, too complex a beat.  And I hate these fucking lousy female choruses!  Step it up Dre.

In terms of the best leak, that's easily 'Who's Yo Daddy, Bitch?!'  That beat was brilliant, the lyrics were dope, and Dre would sound great over it.

the imitation on kush is lame though

While not nearly as bad as "Kush", there are certain portions where he DOES sound like Nate & other parts where he sounds like Timbaland... as you mentioned. I'm sure the song was done before Nate passed. I was just referencing those who said Dre used a Nate knockoff on Kush as paying homage... when clearly this is the second song where Sly "borrows" from Nate.

what portion specifically does he borrow from Nate? I don't hear it. Ain't Sly only featured in one part of the song?

yeah that's the part we were talking about. Sounds like Timbo. I don't how you could mistake that as Nate.

Nate has a different vocal style....why would u would think its the same as Timbos? Niggaz be seeing Nate everywhere now smh.

U niggaz trippin. I never heard Dre rock this style before in my life. This is that weird deep-voiced poppy shit that Timbo is always on. Nate was a SINGER and originator of his style. Its disrespectful to Nate u would even see them the same. Completely different sound.

maybe sounds a bit like nate, but i doubt he was coached to imitate his style on that song.
with Kush it was obvious.

nate:
Quote

sly:
Quote
hold up, wait a minute...

yeah i thought the tribute argument was silly too.

Pretty sure that was Kobe doing the "Hold Up, Wait A Minute" first and they produced the whole song off that line, no Nate Dogg

This track does not dissapoint, and that means alot. It's like a dream coming true :"Here it is, here i am "!!!!  How you guys arent feeling this after all this waiting ??
It's Dre coming back with a huge pop single, but it has a crazy dark sound to it, with that twisted guitar thing (sounds like the part dre did on timbo's "bounce").
Its obviously inspired by the timbo/danja sound imo. So dre doesn't take too much risks while experimenting, as this kind of sound has been a massive success for a few years now. And i think DJ Khalil came up with the electro sounding stuff on there, its definitly his style too.
There are changes in the beat, crazy breaks..etc. Lyrics and flow are perfect.
All that we (just i ?) been waiting for !

Since i first heard this track, for some reason xzibit kept popping in my head as a guest feature....

From a business standpoint i'd replace Sly with Timbaland and Nikki Grier with Lady Gaga or Nelly Furtado....the names alone would've allowed this track to have been a perfect first single in place of Kush....but thats all hindsight   :-\

same here....i'm starting to lean towards a great track for me.  the track is sonically there...i've had it on repeat for a while

i like many others was hyped by what bishop lamont was telling us about the album...but dude was just overly excited about the stuff he was hearing and working on.  I'm moving on from those expectations.

"Warning from the surgeon general...Watch out for fake hits and bullshit, it sounds identical"
- Dr. Dre from Xzibit ft. Dr. Dre - Symphony In X Major

Damn, I think Dre forgot he said that. That's exactly what he's putting out.

From the looks of it, if Detox is going to have more music on this level it seems like Dre is going for a more dance/pop sound (with a touch of "I Need A Doctor" fake ass "I Like The Way You Lie" shit). Dre went back to his old World Class Wreckin' Cru days I guess. The sad thing is that even if Dre does have other music on Detox that is actually dope the album is going to be far from classic because it's going to be so uneven with songs like Mr. Prescription on it. Come on Dre this your last album homie (supposedly), don't go out like that...

yeah i suggested it...its just a song...dont know why people take this stuff so seriously.  i've been waiting for this album as long as anyone, about 3-5 years ago i would've caught feelings over what dre's releasing now.  but i've realized my tastes in music has changed in that time and there no sense in getting caught up in the past or in the hype.  I know I'll enjoy what Dre ultimately puts out regardless of the direction.

Actually I'll add, who could jump straight on a Detox track and bring instant heat..no rusty bullshit...and certainly not need a vese written for them!

Xzibit, Snoop (of course), Rage, RBX (without a doubt), Butch Cassidy, Kokane, Suga Free, Quik, Devin, Knoc, 6-2 and....Daz!

Played this for someone on Beats by Dre, even with the warning that it was comedy, he laughed his ass off after just the first few bars. This shit is comedy, rather than music.

I think Devin came weak on I Dont Need No Bitch. So Im not sure of that. Suga Free we dont need on Detox either. Knoc? meh..

but I definitely wanna hear some Butch Cassidy, Kokane AND SOME KOBE HOOKS!!!!

oh yeah and give Crooked I, Chace Infinite & WC a couple of verses.

and somewhere on the album there should be a real laid back bridge by Warren G

Detox aint a 'wish album' tho.

I doubt that Dre will have any Crooked I, Kokane or WC features.
After the leaks i've heard, i think 'Detox' will be something like a mix of rap and disco. Its not what i was wishin to hear, but ill take it too.

Well there will be tons of features! I think that is pretty obvious.

Like on Mr. Prescription right now we hear Sly, maybe a little Slim and Nikki Grier. None of them are gonna end up on Detox so those features are prolly just references.

Who could you imagine those references are for?

Well, of course there will be many features, but I expect more people from Aftermath camp (like Slim, or Sly), and also like Dre mentioned in the interview - some old co-workers. But i doubt for not-mainstream west coast cats.

What makes you think its a reference track? To me it sounds pretty finished.

Im just sure they are references cause they are basically nobodies.
Not hatin or anythin but why the fuck would he not replace Nikki Grier's part with a famous bitch's voice? I am pretty sure that is gonna happen.

I dont think Slim will be all over Detox. I dont even think we will hear a verse from him. I think he just did the writin.

I know Hittman was a nobody back then too but he had skills. I really think Slim is madd average and I dont see any love for him anywhere?

Mr. Prescription does not sound finished IMO.

Remember we are talkin Detox and Jimmy Iovine/Interscope. They only care about sales so I could easily see Gaga on a finished version of Mr. Prescription and some other big name dude do the none Dre parts of the song.

Not even 100% that Mr. Prescription will be on Detox but I think that^ is gonna happen with a lot tracks?

and yes Sly is on Kush but just to fill in for Nate Dogg.

Dude, you're nuts. Get your mind out of the internet. Dre used a lot of underground artists in his songs. Thats actually what made him famous. I have never heard a track where Dre just put a famous name to make it dope. Where did you take that from? Hes right in the opposite way. He would rather use some underground singer's voice that fits to the song over Rihanna or Lady Gaga. That also fails your theory that Dre cares only about the money. If that would be true, we would be gettin mainstream singles from him all the time. But it is again right the opposite way.

Also.. you and people that keep sayin that - you all have no idea why Dre put Sly on Kush with low pitched voice like that. IMO hes no where near Nate, dont even sound close, like imitating.. its just a low voice.

The only trash is Jimmy Iovine. That, i can't argue.

If Dre would put Drake on INAD - that would be weird. But when he put his protege, his friend and long co-worker, that's nothin unusual. And definetly it wasnt about putting a biggest star on a track.

I know it is not unusual. what is unusual is what the song sounds like. = made for radio play/sales and nothin else.

And Skylar Grey became popular in the past 6 months as the industry hook bitch. Have you not heard of her?

Why would he put Eminem and Skylar Grey on his 10 year late album's lead single if it was not for the sales ?

I think it is SO obvious.

Now why does that sound so crazy to you?

Slim is Dre's new artist that he's pushing. How would he not be on Detox?

Sly is already on a Detox single.

Nikki Grier has already made songs with Dre and other Aftermath artists. She's been reported as working on Detox.

There's no reason these people wouldn't be on Detox. The Chronic wasn't an all-star cast, it was all newcomers. Em and Snoop were the only big names on 2001.

It's time to realize this album is NOT COMING OUT . He would have put a release date out off of this successful single .We wont see it cuz Dre is too insecure . No single will ever do well enough .

If Dre would put Drake on INAD - that would be weird. But when he put his protege, his friend and long co-worker, that's nothin unusual. And definetly it wasnt about putting a biggest star on a track.
Oh, and when did Skylar become popular?

I still dont see any big names put on any of Dre tracks on purpose to sell records..

It is made for a radio, i agree. But if you take the hate out of your head, its not only a radio song. Experience it yourself..

I havent heard of her before. And if Dre would be going for famous names, as you claim - he would take much bigger name.

When things get SO obvious, they are or else genius as fuck or not true. As far as i can see it, your theory has a lot of weak parts, so i doubt it would be genius.

There is no hate. I just dont like that song and the reason it was made and the features on it are obviously for sales.

well she was featured on Diddy's single Im Coming Home, and she wrote the hooks for Caste Walls and I Love The Way You Lie. and she just recently was featured on Lupe's new single Words I Never Said. She is new, yes but already a name.

Well I think you can ask 100 people if Sly sounds like Nate on Kush and my guess is 99 would say yes. and then there is you. lol  ;D

People believed, that Earth was flat, and they were callin Copernicus a nut.. Trust me, that it is just the low pitched voice, that reminds you of Nate, becouse he was usin it pretty often. .. After Nate used to sing like that, nobody now is allowed to do that, becouse they will be called imitators? Thats bullshit. If you want to hear a imitator, go listen to 'Underdog' - thats clearly, somebody tryin to sound like Nate, but not on Kush. Its just a low-pitched voice.

Dre, Dre... what a mess this is. The beat itself is not that bad, but the arrangements of both vocals and production is all over the place.

Detox (if it excists), needs a fresh but simple vision, ie. what Dr.Dre has always been known for. Detox doesn't seem to have any concrete vision behind it what so ever.

Dre can not make a comeback ... when i heard Kush, i was like this is not that bad.

But then i saw the music video where Dre is rocking that skin tight zip across leather jacket. From then i knew it cant work. It seemed forced. Dre is old as hell, but the problem is that he look even older then he is. Cube can still pull it off, but honestly it must be a bit creepy for this kids to see someone who looks like their grand dad talking bout smoking weed and rocking leather.

Then I Need A Doctor, where Eminem and Dre share their Bromance with the world...wassup with that. "Dre you were there when I needed You"...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just release Detox as a compilation, with the original writers on the tracks...i think TI murdered Shit Popped Off...so keep Detox but it shouldnt be a Dre album, but an Aftermath Compilation

I just lost all hope of Detox being any good. Even mixed and polished up I just don't see how this track belongs on a Dr Dre album. Just like Kush and INAD.

Assuming all three tracks make it on Detox, this album is already worse than The Chronic and 2001. Neither of them had three bad tracks.

I honestly can't beleive that people write off entire albums on the back of a couple of tracks - TWO finished tracks!! (OK, I probably can. I've read this forum long enough) The rest of the half finished MP3 tracks may or may not even be considered for the final cut - stop guessing what will and won't be on the album and just fucking wait. Discussion is cool but half of you get far too carried away with "leaks" and other internet bullshit.

This track IS NOT FINISHED.....not to mention it's just an MP3 so it's not good quality anyway.

You know that people will hate these tracks regardless because they've spewed so much hate through these threads that they will find it hard to turn back. Just keep your bullshit to yourselves and PM each other.

Not that anyone pays attention....you can get back to the hate now.

KoDy.

yeah, I think it would be a nice move from a business perspective. As a Dre album, shit's gonna flop, too long enough to release it & ppl not expecting nothin dope from it anymore, just scrap the project & re-build it as a nice Aftermath compilation. (+ its not like a label like aftermath doesn't need it..)

bottom line is that it's a wack track and it's 1 of those songs that have an "acquired taste", the young niggaz ain't feelin Dre's newer shit and neither are tha old niggaz... it's time 2 move on.

and b4 u get shit twisted i'm not tryna save nobody's life, it iz what it iz and ALL of the Detox leaks/tracks have been below average except for maybe "Shit Popped Off" and "Topless" (both of which are T.I. songs lol), i like "Coming Back", "Tha Doctor", and "It Could've Been You" but that's where me and the rest of the general consensus is happy to stop (check em if u don't believe me)
- "Coming Back" http://www.youtube.com//v/7hkAmkB69j4 and it's not even a Full track lmao!
- "It Could've Been You" http://www.youtube.com//v/J5ZDtV28UKg (it's not even produced by Dre at that)
- "The Doctor"http://www.youtube.com//v/I6A0NmyRvg4
dont lie or try 2 convince yourself just becuz it's Dr. Dre, that's tha hottest shit we've heard and all of that other shit is super mega crazy delusional die hard Dre fan shit and personally i'm all of that except Delusional

i mean honestly... Dr. Dre NEEDS that gangsta shit like he's stressin that you and "I need a doctor".  Seriously, all bloggin' aside, why has this nigga's solo shit been so wack these past years and why has his guest production been so wack... okay, u got a more than a few beats on "Relapse" and 1 on "Before I Self Destruct" that were crazy but honestly... like i said let's keep this 1000... they've all been pretty much wack (let alone not even being produced or written by him).

So to all of you NEWBIES that have just started posting here or been here less than a Year or Two, all of the rest of us have seen it all, done it all, and heard it all before, it's just not crackin'.  We all love and admire Dr. Dre (some even wish we could be Andre Romell Young) but WE the people all KNOW the truth and practically nothing Dr. Dre has done has been hot, hardly even slightly.  We know who and what Dr. Dre really is, we've studied and learned and watched and listened to all of what Andre Young has 2 say and offer... we know better

^ I been postin here for almost 10 years (holy shit that's crazy how much time has passed) and I can honestly say this song is sick as fuck to me. I have no problem with artist doing something different as long as its dope. The beat is energetic, dre has swag in his flow and he spit that shit flawlessly. Just sucks that he probably won't finish the track now that its leaked. All it needed was another verse or 2, pulled the fake nate dogg, and added nikki grier's hook following the verses and you got a song I'd play often

I remember knocturnal has a "gangsta techo" (his phrase, not mine) song called "come all you" that not many people liked but it was one of my favorite knoc songs

that's YOU and a handful of other people... that's not tha rest of tha world.

dr. dre is making music that nobody wants to hear from him (truthfully)... i mean son, i don't wanna hear no muthafuckin' Techo Ass Dr. Dre songs, really i don't and i don't think (matter of fact I KNOW) most people don't either.  If Dre goes that route "Detox" will be tha talk of tha town 4 a month and after that there's no more except for DubCC and AHH (that's just what it's become)... it'll be a hit for a quick minute online and then POOF, he'll be just like any other artist out there becuz tha songs he's making sound like a song any other artist would make.  it's good that you're optimism is still strong but homie u must not get out much if your still holdin' your breath and have high expectations of Dr. Dre

like some1 said "it's already worse than The Chronic and 2001 becuz it has 3 bad songs on it already" and nevermind that these are the singles... what about tha rest of tha album.  I think u need 2 crawl out whose'ever asshole ur in (no disrespect).  homie i'm tired of talking about "Detox" and Dr. Dre and I can name anything Dr. Dre's has ever touched released or unreleased, music or something else and still know to this day but it's old, it's like chasing the same girl you did in highschool that you couldn't fuck then when y'all meet 15 years after graduation (let alone 5 years).

in real life people truely ARE pissed at Dr. Dre, EVERYBODY (including you, don't lie 4 tha sake of words)... from what i see can see ("real recognize real") if you're still defending Dr. Dre today then you're just kissing his ass straight up and there's no way around that (not 1).  EVERYBODY ELSE in Hip Hop (be it KRS1, Melle Mel, u name him/her) has done something in tha past decade on some solo shit but Dr. Dre hasn't (seems kinda suspect if u ask me,,, like what was really goin on all those years?)

like i said when dr.dre starts cranking out meth like them BrickSquad niggaz have been doin (or name ur favorite artist if u feel some way about it) then i'll reserve and refrain from expressing my opinion but until then until we get that REAL GANGSTA SHIT from Dr. Dre (the creator of it; pretty much) then nah son, he doesn't get a pass especially for keeping us waiting so long.  I mean if he would've 1st announced "Detox" in like 08' or 09' or some shit like that then okay, fine, tha delays would've been accepted and well warranted but this is real life and he didn't so we ALL have 2 take it 4 what it iz and it'z not lookin good at all.

these bamaz on DubCC and AHH might keep u hyped about "Detox" but in real life tha rest of tha world could care less (ask somebody wats more important... Rent Money or "Detox",,,, matter of fact "Weed Money" or "Detox" lol, tha proof is in tha pudding).  i used to care and feel just as adimate about "Detox" as u have been; note tha quote about me making fake tracklists but i have a life homie just like everybody else does (most people anyway) and dude's not pulling no more capers on my brain, i like how i think.

people saying that they like all of these leaks (like "My Prescription") are only feeling it becuz it's Dr. Dre, let it be The New Boyz or some shit then we would've forgotten all about this song by now.  u ask me if Dre is going that Euro Pop route then he needs 2 just start backing up newer artists who do this type of music or who are in this space and common knowledge will tell u it's not Dr. Dre lol.

and before u get me all fucked up in a raggidy... i'm not gonna sit here ALL DAY (like y'all still do) and talk about Dr. Dre, Detox, or The Ruthless Family Tree all day... it's tired, it's just as tired as the Backwards Jerseys the St. Lunatics used to rock back in tha day (seriously).  there's no point in "discussing" and "debating" [notice i used quotation marks] the music of some guy who doesn't release music, it's redundant.  if y'all wanna talk about his headphones then fine, if u wanna talk about his influence and how he influenced people then be my guest, talk about how he literally changed the world (atleast the Western Hemosphere) 4 all i care but don't sit here and talk about something that isn't about some guy who's not #feelme... ask Daz, WarrenG, Scott Storch, Mel Man, Sam Sneed, Glove, Mark Batson, and all them other niggaz who Dr. Dre really iz...

My fault (1 last part):  Dr. Dre has been around tha SAME group of Producers/Musicians for LITERALLY over a decade now and all of the time u see them listed as playing instruments and co-producing.  Now think about this, if ur in a room with tha same people everyday making the same sound of music everyday for a decade and knowing that Dre doesn't really do anything but lend an ear or maybe play something here and there then I ask you "what is he really doing"... i mean u'd figure after 10 years of working with tha same people everyday and you're tha coach and you're giving them directions day in and day out... i mean don't u think they already would know what to do and how to do it WITHOUT Dr. Dre?  Dude just probably gives the "okay" on tracks nowadays, i don't really think Dre is in the studio day in and day out grinding with these producers and musicians (i can't see it and if you have any sort of independence/tiger blood in you then you know what i mean).  As long as they're paid i'm sure they can keep their lips sealed (as would I).

"Dr. Dre" is a business, Andre Young knows what he's doing and got hip a VERY LONG TIME AGO what happens when he attaches his name to something... don't be a sheep homie!

Dre needs a few more instrumentals that hit hard like "Cocaine Runners"... will he do it, by tha looks of it probably not, should he... hell yeah (in his voice).

And honestly, why is Dr. Dre concerned about selling records and crossing over he should just worry about maintaining at this point.  Dudes been on tha Forbes list for like 10 years straight now, why does he need 2 sell records, what harm could come if he only sold 20K... he's Dr. Dre and like he said "i haven't spent my own money since Eminem dropped..." i mean what why even go against tha grain like that... who is he going/trying to please (seriously)... the youngin's aren't gonna eat his records up just becuz he's Dr. Dre and he did a dance record and neither are the Euros like yourself so stop acting like if u say tha truth about Dr. Dre/Detox on a website that tha world is gonna come 2 an end and Dre is gonna scrap tha project lol.

Last, I see old niggaz (40+,50+,60+) who are EITHER rich, poor, and in tha middle who smoke hella weed and get drunk and fuck young hoes daily (not tha super poor niggaz anyway unless they trickin)... there'd be absolutely nothing wrong with a 40something year old legend talking about tha good life on his records... that misconception doesn't hold much weight in tha real world (and it's Dr. Dre at that)

Dr. Dre and his "legend" are old... tha youngin's are gonna grow up NOT 2 respect this guy, u think i'm playin', wait about 5/6 more years and they'll be saying "oh, Eminem's producer, yeah he's ok".  There's alotta voids (important voids) in Dre's career this past decade (not to put fear in anybody's heart becuz as a fan i know how it iz) and i know he was protecting his aura but it's time 2 "put up or shut up", tha world's not gonna miss him when he's gone after about tha 1st 6 months after he's gone (#just sayin)... i mean what do we have besides a few Eminem and 50 Cents beats and some headphones ?? ?? ??

i'm done, u figure it out now

actually yeah... and matter of fact why wouldn't I... you guyz r 14 pages deep (a couple thousand views in)... so yes I KNOW FOR A FACT that most of you will read it (if not all of it then most of it).  it's tha truth and tha truth hurts, that's why everytime it's brought up people like y'all get on defense mode (you aren't fooling anybody, we know who you are)

but bringing it back:

"Dr. Dre" isn't Andre Young soley, "Dr. Dre" is a brand that consist of multiple people at a time that are writers, musicians, and producers, which is why "Kush", "Under Pressure", and "I Need A Doctor", and let's not forget to mention ALL of those fuckin' leaks are neither written or produced by "Dr. Dre" himself.  And yeah I know he's an engineer but it's really not that tough/thoro/complex of a job in most cases (just make sure shit sounds right and it's all good from there and u really don't even have 2 do much in most cases).  That's why in most cases 9.6/10 times Dre hardly ever touches a track but u always notice he gets the credit, Andre Young is simply the "face" of "Dr. Dre" [wild shit i know, is it true... u tell me, just get tha facts first, that many people can't all be lying or halfway telling the truth... the streets are shady but they just don't lie like that]...

Another note 2 leave y'all with (i'll leave the Aftermath/Interscope dick sucking to y'all):
"Detox" should 1st be released as an EP that way Dre can still keep the "it's not finished yet" fresh and at tha same time give us what we want... and when the LP comes out just add tha EP to it and it's a done deal [that's if Dre wants to play it smart]... but hey look at me i'm talking about Dr. Dre again, same story, same ideas (ideas that i should be putting to use myself foreal foreal), and same ol' dialog, it's tiring, obsessive, and gay... it's lame, a waste of air, and boring.

Don't forget that "Detox" was supposed to released today (again).  So why y'all are sitting there thinking of ways of trying to "hold on to tha dream" and praising and worshipping this nigga (who didn't live his raps or even write em) don't forget that this nigga is lying to you and using your loyalty to make his pockets fatter by way of nostalgia and emotion (you're a die hard, you have some sort've feelings about it all).

Where is that truth that you were talkin bout? So far i can only see a theory. Crazy theory for a fact.

Behind all the discusion, Im very curious, where did people see that 'Detox' is droppin on 4/20? I can only remember the video where Dre (?) shouts "4/20!" and somethin meaningless. There havent been said that its a release date for "Detox". So dont use this as a argument for 'Detox' being not real or whatever else you think of. Couse its just scretchin reality to your theory.

Title: don't get me telling it like it iz confused with my opinion, it's not like that
Post by: BiggBoogaBiff on April 20, 2011, 08:54:54 AM
First off... why tha fuck are y'all attacking ME like y'all don't ALREADY KNOW Dre iz on that bullshit, that's bugged!

2nd... stop talking to me like your some fucking scholar talkin about theories n shit... i put 2 and 2 together and i got 4 #feelme
(tha devil's in the "Kush" and "I Need A Doctor" booklet details/"the devil's in the details")
- and that's just 2010/2011... i mean u can pull up tha nigga's track record on here

3rd:  just give it a break already.  all of y'all are makin ya'llselves out 2 look like dumbasses trying to go on me or anybody else in tha name of Dr. Dre and "Detox"... the rest of the world is growing up, you should join in on it.  i swear even mentioning Dr. Dre or "Detox" is so wack now, that shit really iz played out.
- and everybody already knows that Dr. Dre is practically my number 1 idol and i've said that various amount of times thru various topics so my position on where i stand with dude (this sounds more serious than it really iz)... it's just that I got hip [like alot of people are getting nowadays]... Dre is a brand, not an artist or producer.  Yeah I'm pretty much positive he sits in on quite a few of the sessions telling his people how he feels about the instruments and giving "direction" and what not but seriously son, if Dre was the MAIN Creator of all of his "Produced By: Dr. Dre" credits then there would be no need 2 keep niggaz like Dewaun Parker, Mike Elizondo, and Mark Batson, and Scott Storch and ALL of those niggaz around him (especially for as long as it's been, add it up).

4th:  "Detox" so far has gone down as THE MOST OVERRATED and ANTICIPATED album in Rap History EVER (and that's saying alot).  Quik was right when he said Dre needs to drop it so everybody over there can celebrate and move on, do u know how pathetic Dre is starting to look (and this is coming from some1 who's idolized this nigga literally pretty much my ENTIRE LIFE and i don't cut cardz 4 any1... not even my own Father).

U know people would've been ok if he never mentioned "Detox" and then dropped tracks here and there like he's doing now, then it would've been an easier pill to swallow but he's been gassing it for a couple years now and even getting on CNN with tha shit (next to Jimmy Iovine at that).  Dr. Dre has absolutely NOTHING to worry about except just putting out music that only Dre knows how 2 do.  Shit, i'll buy into Dr. Dre tha rapper in 2011, i don't have a fuckin problem with it at all (and i betchu deep down inside most people don't either) but this dragging on of sub-par music and music that us fans couldn't appreciate for years to come just isn't worth it.

Read this part if nothing else:

*Read it all if u want to, it doesn't matter.  This is IN-DEPTH anaylsis from some1 who's been jockin since in was hangin off my mother's stockin, I'm not really bringing you my opinion (really i'm not) I'm just tellin it like it iz and if y'all don't wanna except it then fine (that's all on u).  All I know is Dr. Dre is getting rich off of our emotions and gullableness and I don't know about u but I'm not really cool with that anymore [i feel like when Bill Maher was talking about Charlie Sheen these past couple weeks {even tho i disagreed}.  At tha end of tha day he's just another rich guy, he's not tha Andre we all grew up with idolized anymore, he's just another businessman who might aswell be sitting on the same side of the table as them Goldman-Sachs niggaz*

Question:  Would I still buy "Detox" if/whenever it drops, yeah maybe, but only if I'm gettin that music we're supposed to be getting and not some corporate Euro Pop shit.  I'm not even gonna lie, i'll probably download it (for free) when it drops if it's like that, play it for a month or two (maybe) and only keep tha tracks i like.  I'm not supporting this man anymore, he's turned his back on us and you're blind if u can't see that (*us as in the REAL fans, fuck it, just us fans in general*).  "Dr. Dre" is becoming irrelevant and he's the ONLY cause of that.  None of us owe Dre anything besides our "support" which we've always gave him, this time around he owes US!
- literally like everybody from the time Dre first came on deck to tha niggaz of today have released music and kept on giving to their/us fans, Dre don't do that, and he's being so fake about it (fake as in being a fake nigga).

- I'll leave y'all with this just in case i didn't make THE point any clearer.  This white dude that i work with, 28 years old, almost as much of a fan of WestCoast Hip Hop in general as me  ;D talks about Dr. Dre and Eminem like there's no tomorrow (it's sickening almost) and come 2 find out me and this nigga pretty much see eye 2 eye on all of this shit.  "I Need A Doctor" is wack and Dre needs 2 stick 2 doing Dre, "Kush" was ok for the moment but is fading fast, Eminem fell off a little, and some more shit.  I swear on everything we were at work yesterday and all this nigga could talk about was "ain't Detox supposed to drop on 4/20, blah blah blah".

Keep in mind this white cat is 28, a little hood but u can tell he's a goofball, he doesn't hide or try 2 cover up tha fact that he's pure Caucasian, LOVES WestCoast Rap, lived out in LA for a few months, and blah blah blah... basically he's kinda like tha dude Dre is marketing his new brand to except he's from America... It's just so mind boggling how Dre has fucked up so many people's heads over the years and got EVERYBODY'S hopes up.  I'm telling you right now that Dr. Dre's biggest obstacle isn't finding the right music, it's gonna be getting past the fans resentment that's been built up...

This. While this isn't really my type of music, I feel like he did the best he could out of this type of song. INAD and Chillin are extremely weak versions of the type of music they are supposed to be.

I still think you need to seperate the words 'truth' and 'theory'/'opinion'.. You cant compare it, but people that speak on NWO or 9/11 call everything they say 'truth' too, altho all you can say about that is, that its their theory/opinion. And its the same situation over here. You got too big ego, so it might be hard, but you need to face, that you can never be sure about anything, and the theory you've made is just your opinion, and you can not call it 'the truth', untill you will really have a good evidence. Its easy to make a logic theory, that seems real.

Do you think anyone is actually gonna read all that? No-one gives a shit about your opinion as it is and then you go and write a 13 paragraph message.

Yes, because this is a forum where people discuss topics. I for one give the dude props for taking the time to voice on an opinion (and a very accurate one at that) on a topic that has been beaten to death like a bad joke. I enjoyed reading his post. +1

Yes, when I´m blasting this track on a nice soundsystem in the car, I feel that way. Its a grower, first time I heard it I thought; "what is Dre thinking". But now it gets better every time. It feels very fresh.
