It clearly shows from the results that dubcc do benefit from the overseas/foreign fan base. Without them, the forum would not be as active as it could be, nor would Hip Hop music if it was only to be sold, discussed, and contained within California be as successful, in demand, or even have some of these artists or producers waste their time to make music. There's a lot of bigotry, and stupidity on this forum sometimes, when people should be grateful that there are still pockets of people who appreciate good music, and that they do exist globally. People in 2011 no longer need to live in a state, or country to know it's music scene. In 2011, the internet allows anyone to know that.
It isn't the 90's anymore, and any artist who isn't (no matter how small) not on the internet, is living under a rock somewhere or dead. kids, veterans, even nobody's are using twitter, blogs, news-streams, even forums etc etc., making the old form of "having to tune in to the local (US) radio" to hear the 'new' song defunct, and no longer exclusive. To make it blunt - the internet has replaced everything that has restricted the "euro's" or any other country from really knowing what was going on with a music scene
It kind of reminds me of the tattooist I go to, who had a complaint about a freelance (not-so-good) tattooist going around tattooing cheaper on the side, annoyed at the fact he doesn't pay any licensing, certifications or rent and rates. He wanted him to be charged for his illegal tattoos, but realised that with him going around, it actually gave him a lot of work for people coming in for corrections, cover-ups etc.

Only very few know who OFWGKTA, Hopsin, Nipsey etc. etc. are.
Unfortunately people just eat anything that gets played on the radio.
oh yeah and hip-hop does not get played on the radio here.

I think that whats happening in this thread is also happening with westcoast rappers these days. Just because you are from the area the genre originated from, doesnt make you a musical genious automatically. 5% of all westcoast rappers really become great artists. The rest is wack. I'm glad my country has a good hiphop scene and it continues to grow in quality, not quantity.

If you're gonna create this kind of poll, why not expand the options? Instead of just being U.S. or not, you should have made it maybe different U.S. regions, Europe, Asia, Middle East, and "other". Check yourself. My posts have been in response to euros claiming to be more knowledgeable on hip hop or have a wider perspective than people in the US. Nigga please. I don't care where you're from or what you listen to. But based on the rappers discussed on this site, dubcc has one of the narrowest perspectives I've ever seen. Don't speak on hip hop knowledge when this entire forum is based around Dr. Dre and Death Row.

In response to some posts, i mostly do like gangsta rap yes, and its true i liked the older stuff better than the newer stuff(artists)but i also like east coast stuff and the odd south and theres good Aussie rap and i like non hip hop music also.

From what I've seen, the whiteboys in America have far wider perspective on hip hop than the dubcc euro presence. I go to other forums or whiteboys I know who like underground rap and the names are Immortal Technique, MF Doom, Jedi Mind Tricks, Atmosphere etc. artists that have different styles and sounds. But here where the Euro-to-American presence is 3 to 1 and everyone is obsessed with Death Row? Lmao. From what I've seen, the whiteboys in America have far wider perspective on hip hop than the dubcc euro presence. I go to other forums or whiteboys I know who like underground rap and the names are Immortal Technique, MF Doom, Jedi Mind Tricks, Atmosphere etc. artists that have different styles and sounds. But here where the Euro-to-American presence is 3 to 1 and everyone is obsessed with Death Row? Lmao. Cmon son, I have no problem with where you're from or what style of music you listen to but when you start going on about how Europeans have more hip hop knowledge I just start laughing my ass off.
