Title: "We give Dre his props but that's where it stops"

I was just listening to The Watcher 2, and was wondering how did people take this line from Jay? To me it seems kinda rude - Jay hasn't acheived half of what Dre has, and to spit it on a remake of one of Dre's hits is just wrong. Or is not meant as belittling Dre? Any thoughts?

I think he means that him and RocaFella are so good (in his opinion) and better than everyone, that the only person outside that click they respect is Dre, nobody else deserves props.

But yea also I took it the other way at first.

he's sayin he respects dre but that's where it stops.... he means that roc-a-fella is his only friends in the industry, he said so in his xxl interview a few months ago

He's talking about the West Coast...


"we give Dre his props, but that's where it stops"...He's basically dissing the rest of the West Coast...Otherwise he woulda said something about Rakim too (since he was also on the track)...PeACe

he aint dissin anyone...not the west coast not dre...hes just sayin that he gives props to dre but thats it...hes not gonna be "ridin dre dick like X at magic mountain"...lmao...J-Ro is a character

No...he's saying Dre is (one of) the only artists on the West Coast who deserves his props...I've discussed this quote with many heads in the past, including people in the business...PEaCe

have u spoken with Jay-Z?...probably not...til then it all comes down to matter of opinion...n i dont think Jay-Z would diss the west coast..cuz um...he jocks E-40s slang..collabs with Daz n Kurupt and Snoop...so thatd be kinda dumb if he did diss...not to mention his homie now seems to be Ric Roc...
