The U.S. attorneys office blew up a friekin' plane, just to show what could have happened if that idiot shoe-bomb terrorist had blown his shoes up. Average cost of a new wide body jet : $100 million dollars.

Which seems more reasonable.

A.) They spent 100 million dollars on a brand new plane, just to blow it up.

or

B.) They went to a "plane junkyard" and used an old plane, or used a decomissioned military plane.

Until I see a report saying it was a donated plane, or it came from a junkyard, and it didn't cost them anything to blow it up, or videotape it, or clean it up, or haul it away, I'm pissed. I'm sure Charlotte/Mecklenburg Schools would have loved to have the money it cost to haul that thing away.
