Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco appears hungry for the "King of Hip Hop" crown after telling recent Chicago concertgoers to spread the word that he is the best artist in the game right now.
Referencing Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne plus Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV, Fiasco freestyled his greatness during a University of Illinois show.
"When you're done Watching The Throne, turn around and watch me, when you're done with Tha Carter IV come back to me for more, when you're done with that Drake, no, I ain't trying to hate but I'm back up on my grind and I'm about to skaaaaate on these n*ggas....Put it on your blog and your Tumblrs on your Twitters that Lupe said that he's the best, n*gga!" Calm down, Lupe. You didn't even have control of your album's production & didn't put up a fight over it. Just took it like a bitch. You're better lyrically, but you're no better than them for "Lasers" production.
-
another wanna be canibus :D
-
so Lupe came down to this?
-
Lupe better than all them besides Jigga lyrically but hes hard to take serious nowadays.
-
skate on them? LOL
-
"Lupe will soufflé half of you muthafuckas"
-
Nothing will come of this... as usual.

Lupe is one of the very few I check for these days. Dude speaks on a ton of shit that is completely taboo in the industry and he gets props for that.
-
Finally... it's about time somebody stepped up and challenged Jay and Wayne for ruining hip-hop... I just hope he doesn't do it like, "Look, I know their dope and they are the greatest, but..."
He needs to come out and say they are wack, fake, and trash, and fuck everything they stand for. Like the way 2pac came at the top East Coast rappers... only without the suggestive violence because that's not Lupe's style.
Mos Def also has been going around dissing Lil Wayne, but it's time he did it on record.

You do know that 2Pac was a fan of everyone he dissed right? He rolled with Biggie and Puffy before the beef. He dug Mobb Deep's music before they went at each other. And he was a Nas fan to the point he used one of his songs as inspiration (I Gave You Power inspired Me and My Girlfriend). And he was begging Dre for beats.

That's not entirely true to say he was a fan of everyone he dissed. He was no fan of Jay-Z, that's for sure.

Tell the truth, if you found out 2Pac liked Reasonable Doubt would that make you like Jay-Z more?

That's a hypothetical scenario that would never happen. So who cares

I don't think any rapper in their right mind would want to follow in the foot steps of Canibus.
