Truth be told I think it's a waste of time, maybe because I'm in the city but whatever. But to each his own. But like cham said, some company does NYC hip hop tours I believe, if they're still in business. Their really isn't much to visit in those neighborhoods, nothing really promotes or celebrates the history. You may personally acknowledge history was made in so an so but that about it. If personal acknowledgment is what your looking for, than by all means take it in. But if you're expecting something more than that you're goin' be disappointed. And dont be surprised if you aren't welcomed with warm arms. You're not going to see many whites up in the South Bronx unless they're cops, junkies, or yuppies/hipsters but no one likes them lol. Truth be told the cops might bust ya balls because they'll think you're buying dope.

Since I don't like Kansas City and don't like the people here much, instead of trying to spend money and make my life happy here (which i know would be a waste) I just let myself be miserable here and live like a slave for most of the year until I have enough resources to travel and live the way I want to live and see the the things I want to see and be around the people I want to be around.

As for accomplishments, I don't give a fuck what anybody else considers an accomplishment, I did the shit I wanted to do and according to my own judgement on myself it was an accomplishment and I'm proud of myself for it and have fond memories that will last forever. It doesn't matter whether or not you consider it an accomplishment what matters at the end of the day is how I feel about it and what I want to do with my life because I will experience the good and the bad of it, nobody else.
Lastly, I've had bills and rent and a number of entanglements, for most of the year I live like a slave, but I make the most of whatever resources I do have. Alot of folks use entanglements as an excuse because in reality they are scared to follow their heart.

LA Is not like NYC or any other east last metropolis, it's spread out u can't travel by public transportation, but is much more relaxed there, texas reminds me of LA cuz of everything so spread apart.
NYC is nice beacause there's almost never a dull moment, and I'm talking about manhattan. I don't mind going there n the winter because us LA heads never get to see it snowing in he city. And plus u can never get a DUI bcuz the public transit system is so good.
But NYC and pretty much the rest of the east coast has horrible summer weather just like Asia.
But Downtown LA is whack compared to other cities throughout the world, and NYC looks much better when u talk about buildings in LA I don't know bout frisco thouh their city is really nice

We hit the ganja hard all night, no blunts just rolling papers like they do in Africa, we took the subway around 1:00AM out towards Manhattan and went to a club there for their Reggae Night, it was like a lounge club but it was so crowded you could hardly walk, we blazed it up there all the way until around 330 the club closed, they were playing the hardcore Rasta Reggae shit, speaker was right at my back vibrating my whole system.
I got back to my other friend Im stayin with place like 4:00 in the morning, I'm on the 5th floor, can see over most of the rooftops just checking the Bronx skyline view, was lovely, then went to sleep faded 8)

yeah well I showed up. I really had no intentions of playing basketball I just wanted to fight. I haven't touched a basketball in nearly 3 years, but I did used to play alot. Anyways I waited around for an hour and had NIK been 2 minutes later and I would have been gone. So I told him I didn't come to play basketball I came to fight. He didn't want to fight. I had originally planned on just punching him anyways if he wouldn't fight, but honestly I felt bad. I'm not a bully and he didn't want to fight. I was mad, but fuck it. Its just always been some sort of monkey on my back type thing for a few years now ever since I first called him out, and it was something that just needed to be settled. Its a pretty stupid reason, but that is my nature. So I said fuck it then we will play ball. He beat me 12 to 10 and thats that. Its over. I honestly did not think he would even show, so I gotta respect him for that, which is a lot more than I can say for some others on here. He was actually pretty cool about everything which made me feel bad for wanting to fight. I know its been said before, but now its true: for all those who have been annoyed with our beef its over. I'm done with it for good. I shook his hand and said the beef is squashed.

This is a friend of mine who used to live in Kansas City. My first trip to Africa back in 07' she arranged for me to stay with her sisters when I arrived in Senegal. She did me a huge favor back then and we've been friends ever since. Even her kids are around the same age as mine so my son was friends with her kids. She took me around New York my first night there.

This is a place I'd always wanted to visit, the Malcolm X masjid in Harlem. This mosque has a deep history, and Malcolm is a figure I used to study a lot back in my late teens and early 20's.

This is the beautiful view out the window of the apt. I loved the view because it fit the picture I had in my mind of what New York looks like, with the pigeons flying around on rooftops, the fire escapes, and so on. There's no skyline better than the one in New York city.

My best friend in Africa, Idrissa, told me if I was ever in New York to call his boy there. His friends name is Kebba and he is the one there sitting next to his girlfriend in the pic. His girlfriend was lovely inside and out, she cooked for all of us that night before we went out. She's Canadian and is studying to be a lawyer there in New York. Reminded me of the Lost Boyz song "Renee" when he says "She's studying to be a lawyer, in other words shorty studies law".

I was really blessed to meet up with Kebba and his friends. Kebba is Gambian and he took me like family cause I was close with his best friend in Africa, and the two other guys you see in the picture, one is his roomate, and the other is a friend who would swoop by with the ganja and smoke us all out. After we were good and high we all went out to a Reggae night at a club called the Belmont Lounge in Manhattan. The club was packed, they were playing all the hardcore Reggae shit I grew to love when I was in Africa, and we hit more joints in the back of the club, the club closed down around 3:30 and the long ride back on the subways felt like an adventure.

My last day in New York, I went with Kebba to where he works in Queens. This spot where the picture is taken is around where he works everyday. It was cool to follow his movements and see his life there. And just in general to see the style and character of the people in Queens. Kebba had this one Jamaican girl he knew drive me to the airport. I mentioned to her that a lot of my favorite rappers were from Queens and she pointed out to me as we passed the neighborhoods that 50 Cent and LL Cool J grew up in, and a park that 50 Cent funded. I would of rather seen the side of Queens that Nas and Q-Tip came up in, but maybe next time.

My flight got delayed from New York to Atlanta. So I stayed a night in Atlanta, and picked the latest flight out the next evening. This gave me the opportunity to visit Idrissa's sister who lives in Atlanta. This is the same friend I have in Africa who connected me with Kebba while I was in New York. He has one family member living in America and that's his sister Ndey. I speak to her on the phone about once a month and she had invited me to come see her family out in Atlanta, and by God's power, I was blessed to be in Atlanta with an opportunity to see her.

I met her at her work that day. She works as a cook in a West African restaurant in Atlanta. Afterwards we had time to go to her house and I visited her 2 kids and her husband. I showed her all my pictures from Africa on the computer, and she showed me some of her photo albums. I was very blessed to meet her, it's the closest thing I have to a sister.

its good for people who like scenery, relaxing, hiking, nature, shit like that....even the beaches are better than the beaches in LA. it's not a top tourist spot, but i'd definitely recommend anyone to roll through the SFV if they comin to LA. it's pretty much a budsmokers mecca.
