Title: ESPN Top NBA Player List.
Post by: Chamillitary Click on October 18, 2011, 09:34:44 AM
ESPN made a list that you can view at ESPN.com of every NBA player ranked.

Kobe was seven, Durant was six, Dirk was five. & they haven't released the other top ones yet.

However, LeBron, Wade, Paul & Dwight aren't on it yet. ;D

So I guess that means they aren't on the list. :-\

The players rated above Bryant by ESPN in order were (1) LeBron James, (2) Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant.

Rose is a more explosive & better pure offensive player than Paul. However, as far as having the full package, Paul is far better, in my opinion.

Not to mention LeBron exposed Rose last year in the playoffs, showing him how good he is when he's smothered by the opposing teams best player. Other teams should attempt that this season, given there is one.

Meanwhile, if I remember correctly, Chris Paul nearly single handedly beat the Lakers in the first round lol.

Oh, that's funny. Considering ESPN basically hyped up Derrick Rose three weeks after the all-star break & was the biggest push in making him the unanimous MVP in March lol.

D Rose wasn't exposed at all last year, Lebron just did incredibly well against him as Lebron can beat anyone one on one on any given day.

You say it as if D Rose is a fraud or as if he's not great. The guy was incredible all season and carried the Bulls single-handedly throughout most of their injury-worried season. He didn't get enough help from Boozer and Noah (Boozer especially) during the playoffs leaving him and Deng struggling. They were never going to be able to beat the Heat like that.

LeBron is an elite defender. But Rose came short in the playoffs. I guess less expectations & the fact everybody in the world (besides me) loves the guy & he can get away with failure.

Not to mention the regular season is a joke. We know the top six teams in each conference before the preseason. It was impressive all the victories despite the injuries for most of the season, but Allen Iverson (my favorite player ever), showed the limitations of a smaller combo guard taking 20+ shots a game. You can put on a show all year long when nobody really gives a fuck & win games. But when push comes to shove, you're losing in the playoffs.

^Except when they say something positive about Kobe, right? ::)

& what do you mean "lower his rank"? Chris Paul is obviously the better player. Unless you're implying Rose is better than LeBron, Wade, Dwight, Durant, Dirk & Kobe.

I wasn't referring to Rose's play as a reflection of his spot on the list. I was making a general statement.

It's pretty simple. But I guess a high school dropout would have a hard time grasping any sort of logic.

You just called me out saying I clearly don't know anything & don't watch enough "BSPN" if I think they say positive things about Kobe. However, in the past you said all my points are just things said from BSPN. Complete contradiction.

Based on last year regular season and playoffs

1. Dirk
2. Lebron
3. Wade
4. Dwight
5. Kobe
6. KD
7.Rose
8.CP3 ( no way he's a top 5 player )

still he was great until the Finals  which was , I agree, one of the worst choking choking ever ... but still the players ranked behind him didn't do enough to be ranked above him ... Wade was good in 5 of the 6 Finals game but was a no show against the Bulls ... Howard was a TO machine against the Hawks and still isn't THAT dominant on the offensive end despite some improvements and Kobe had an average year for his standards mainly because of injuries but still he didn't close Game 1 and Game 3 against the Mavs

but if gasol wasnt a bitch, we wouldve easily won games 1 and 3...we went into the 4th quarter of those 2 games with a nice lead....i just dont see how any1 could truly rank wade and james above kobe. i mean, both of em together, maybe...kobe was still better than both of em individually, even with all the injuries. i mean, kobe didnt perform to his standards, but at least he didnt choke nearly as hard as james and even wade. really, if gasol and odom werent such bitches in the playoffs, u (and the rest of the world) would be singin a completely different tune.

I would take the 09-10 Kobe and the black mamba from the years before over Wade and James without a doubt and I'm confident he will bounce back but Wade and Lebron just had a better 10-11 season... and let's be honest I've never seen Kobe playing terrible D like that before

difference here is, Lakers lost to Dallas because of Gasol and Odom...Miami lost to Dallas because of LeBron and Wade. When it really counts, Kobe is clearly the better of the 3...even injured Kobe.

Reasons we got swept :

1. Inability to D the pick n roll and the 3 pt line .. Kobe was part of the 2nd problem.
2. Pau Gasol
3. Inability to knock down the 3pt shot which resulted in Dallas packing the paint to prevent our usual inside domination .. which perfectly worked
4. Kobe not being Kobe i.e the player who dominated the WC playoffs for the last 3 years

Far from the truth my equal, cause if that's the case lebron shouldn't be number 1 with your logic, cause he got shut down by deshawn who's smaller and j Kidd. D rose is better then Paul and his upside is as well. And don't act like bron wasn't getting help on rose, get that equal a two who can hit the 3 and a healthy boozer and it would have been a different story yell

LOL..come on. u should know first hand that Pau is the number one problem. if Pau plays like a legit second option, we win that series. end of story. lets not forget, in game 1 vs dallas, kobe had 36 points and we lost on the last possession. if Gasol even plays HALF as good as he's capable of playing, the whole complexion of that series woulda been completely different....at the end of the day, lebron has no heart and still aint seein kobe, no matter what the general public and the casual nba fan is made 2 believe.

Shut down? I can agree he didn't play up to par, but that was him missing shots, not getting shut down. LeBron was all over Rose. LeBron in the Finals was open.

I mean, you know you have to be the best player in the world if making the Finals is viewed as a failure. I listened to you niggas all year long like they would barely make the playoffs & then they would get dominated in the playoffs. Meanwhile, they were five minutes from being up 3-0.

If the Texas Rangers won the World Series, nobody would of called Albert Pujols a failure or viewed him any differently. He just doesn't have millions upon millions of haters.

"they fucked kobe over" or "Lebron sucks" you talking about knowing the sport is ridiculous. you are a fan of a team not of the sport.

read what u just said, dickhead.."LeBron sucked in the finals". what is the biggest knock on LeBron since he entered the league? he's a choke-artist. been labeled one on many different occasions, and he stays livin up to the label. simply doesn't have the killer instinct of the great ones, or at least he hasnt showed it to date. now take his fuckin nuts out ur mouth, faggot.
funny. i dont like lebron and think he is overrated. but he is obviously top 3. you just hate. look how mad you got. you dont know shit about basketball. im sure you can tell me more about Kobes life than you could about basketball outside LA. this is for TODAY. not 3 years ago. Lakers got swept, Kobe is the leader and he wasnt dominant. Lebron dominated throughout the playoffs up until the finals where he gave a shit performance. u calling anybody a nuthugger is a joke. ive never talked to you before but i always see ur name listed as the kobe dickrider. stop loving 1 player and love the sport.

when did i say anything about him not being top 3? i said he couldnt be number 1, after such a horrible finals performance, and definitely not 7 spots ahead of kobe. now get off his nuts, u fuckin homo.
exxactly instead of saying Kobe should be higher. you say Lebron shouldnt be 7 spots ahead of him. learn how to word shit dumbass. Howards my fav player. i have no oppinion on Lebron as a fan. he is exciting to watch but not like i have his jersey or posters or go to watch the Heat play. so it is funny that someone who is so open about his groupie love for Kobe would call anybody that.

wtf is the difference, retard. now u just reachin (for some nuts)...LeBron shouldn't be 1 and Kobe shouldnt be 7. Thats all there is 2 it. This is typical BSPN and you are a typical casual basketball fan/nutlicker. now man up and STFU.
wtf is the difference really? instead of saying Kobe should be higher you make it sound like Lebron shouldnt even be in the top 7. learn english.
. go watch the lakers and read stat lines. fucking homer.

what are u saying, retard? i never said anything about lebron not being top 7...all i pointed out was the bspn was biased and prone to riding lebrons dick, just like u, fagboy

btw...do u even have a favorite team? prolly not, cuz ur most likely just another lebron nutlicker who watches basketball here and there. the end.

Right. Because ESPN & 99% of it's analysts weren't shitting on LeBron from post-decision on. ::)

You make no sense. But like I've pointed out a million times, you never make sense. One minute you're too good & knowledgeable to watch something like "BSPN", yet you know everything they say about every player lmao.

I did but David Stern stole and ripped the team from my city. lol u are just like a youtuber. seriously are you a troll? all your points are retarded. i dont like lebron. and you are just getting angry and calling me "gay" or a "dickrider" you cant come up with a good point. you arent debating you are just name calling because you dont know shit about basketball and think anybody with a different oppinion is dumb. if you are older than 14 and have a diploma then you should grow the fuck up.
and i hear alot more fanboyism on ESPN of any player that makes the highlight reel. they shitted on Lebron during the finals and shitted on the lakers during the playoffs. they will go back to saying. King James or stating stuff like "is kobe the greatest of all time" like every year once the season starts. they will dickride Kwame Brown if he gets on SC top 10.

Based on last year regular season and playoffs

1. Dirk
2. Lebron
3. Wade
4. Dwight
5. Kobe
6. KD
7.Rose
8.CP3 ( no way he's a top 5 player )

lmao...lebron shouldnt even be ranked after his horrible performance in the Finals. he wasnt even starter worthy in the most important games of his life. the fuck outta here.

ya sorry for making shit up. learn how to read dumb shit. either you have a shit memory or dont understand what the word "make up" means. childish? im not ihere crying "you are a faggot, suck a dick, blablabala" shits played out. no i dont say they hate you. they find you comedic. you are like 50 tyson.

it's called exaggeration, retard...obviously, lebron is top 10, but still not worthy of being ranked as high as bspn ranks him. it's just too bad that slow people have trouble understanding simple concepts. as for the immature name-calling, u made some homosexual reference towards me about kobe before i even knew who u were. thats how i knew u were gay.

lebron being number one is  a complete joke, so is kobe being number 7, i lmfao when cp3 was rated so high, jokingly i hate on cp3, but i give dues where its deserved, he's arguably the top PG for the past 5 years, but his numbers hasn't been up there since his injury neither is his explosiveness and quickness, I'm not saying its completely gone but we haven't seen it recently, and considering his actual impact in the clutch ( let me describe this as in winning games) he shouldn't be in the top 5.

and wow lebron, dude is probably the most highly praised unclutch player  in the history of the NBA, no one i can remember was compared to MJ without that clutch shot, without being able to win the game with that last possession, i mean even in a regular season game, how many game winners have lebron had?

1 in the playoffs and what? 2 in the regular season?

not to mention he has (arguably) 2 of the top 10 and 1 being in the top 5  on his damn team. (remember when chris bosh was considered the best PF? now lebron lovers say bosh is shit)

back when kobe was 26, don't tell me he wouldn't of won with t-mac (or AI) and KG on his team,

matter of fact give kobe right now bosh and wade he'd take it down.

don't get me wrong lebrons a phenomenal player, but dude aint a winner, and damn sure he isn't one of the best to ever play, he's a good stat filler, I won't be surprised if he's one of those "legends" or "HOFERs" nobodies gonna give a fuck about in future years.

I've got to say, I agree with all of this. He's clearly one of the best players in the league and unplayable on his day, but I can't argue with the statement that he's missing that x-factor that Kobe or Jordan had.

^Look at the names you said. MJ & Kobe. Two of the most loved players ever. NIK can ramble all day about a show he watches, yet doesn't watch, yet knows everything they say (ESPN), but at the end of the day LeBron is the most hated man in the history of sports. LeBron was loved by millions upon millions of fans, even Laker fans rooted for him. The only person who had a problem with him when he was in Cleveland was NIK out of jealousy of his far superiority to Kobe. Nigga had this whole TV show, left his hometown team, leaving them to rot & everybody turned on him harder than anyone in the history of sports, Tiger included.

It's kind of like when I use to say Joe Budden is the best rapper alive. Nigga's on here were saying his "mixing" was awful, hence he's a bad rapper. Like there was some sort of relation from emmce skill to your production team's mixing. People are always going to nit-pick LeBron for the rest of his career. This nigga NIK was already lined up with excuses. If LeBron lost (which he did), it was all his fault. If he won, it was because he had Wade & Bosh.

The man will never win in the eye of the media, regardless of what he does. Nobody wants to see him win, so whether he does or not, he'll be criticized until the day he dies.

However, with all that being said, like the Joe Budden skills/mixing analogy, no matter how much people will hate on this & hate on that & judge him worse than legends of the past, there will still likely be an ample amount of proof at the end of his career that he's one of the greats.

Speaking of which, we might as well give up on finding the "next Jordan", because if Kobe's career proves anything, regardless of anything anyone does in the rest of NBA history, they will not be held in the same light as MJ.

i don't get how you see lebron as the most hated man in the history of sports.

every body was on his dick when he was on cleveland,  LOL before he lost all those times, espn and everyone else was call him the best player and the best TEAM in the league.  LOL espn and the rest of the media have been saying kobe fell off and lost a step SINCE 06

and when lebron and the cavs loose for what the 4th or 5th time, they say he hadn't had depth, when in the beginning of the season, everybody was on their nuts saying they were the DEEPest BEST team, and predicted to win the finals or at least be in the finals.

did they ever go into the finals? no.

yea he got hated on when he disrespectfully left cleveland and the cavaliers for the heat, but they got on the bandwagon mid way through the season.

but he will never be one of the real legends, the true greats of NBA, he has no competitive spirit or pride. he left his team, his home, betrayed them to try to get a free ride to a ring with 2 other players that are the best in the league. rather than working hard

how tarnished would magic, birds, mms, kobes, west, hakeem, etc etc careers if they left their team and city, to join 2 other superstars (lol another thing thats funny is that all the bandwagon lebron fans were saying bosh was a franchise player till he was basically a no show from time to time last year) to win a ring?

it would of been terrible, they wouldn't of been considered that great, instead quitters that wanted a free ride. don't get me wrong, if its the end of your career, and your trying to steal one not the way out theres not problem in that. and I'm talking about when players are in their PRIME, I'm assuming lebron has some major confidence issues.

but betraying ur home team, your city, full of people that support you by buying tickets, freeing up their time to watch you play, buy your jerseys and other accessories, is unforgivable.

i hated shaq when he left, i felt betrayed, i felt dude was too selfish, thinking about only himself and not the team, and the city.

man o man if kobe left, same thing MJ left, did MJ leave when he didn't automatically go to the finals? no he stuck around and rode through it and payed off.

u know people can say "kobe was going to leave" but i never thought he was truly going to leave, u think he was going to leave one of the greatest franchises of the sport when he was at the helm?

it was just a strategy to get the front office to make some major changes to win it all. because the lakers front office is not the cavs front office, their not going to cater and baby their star player and make changes on soley on his behalf because "thats what he wants", kobe had the threaten to leave to make major changes.

cavs on the other hand got anyone, did anything that lebron wanted him to do, imo was the biggest mistake, they should of made legit bball decisions and roster changes rather than what the star player wants.

in part i can understand how dan gilbert was so upset because he literally did anything lebron wanted him to do.

i don't see the need to compare MJ to kobe, i don't bring up the subject, but it seems like you always do to defend lebron, i aint tryna hate you homie, but in my book kobe is already better and that my opinion and i can care less.

old cats sayu magic is the best or bird, or kareem, and than MJ fans argue that they don't have enough rings, and yet MJ fans claim that if kobe gets more rings that MJ he still won't be in the same light. thats some male groupie shit.

i can care less kobe is the best to play imo, and its not farfetched to say it or unreasonable.

but lebron all you can say is "he has the potential" to be the greatest, something we have yet to see and something thats tarnished by jointing 2 other franchise NBA players to get a easier shot at at ring

i think its a bit early to say a 26 year old will always be "had potential" M.J. didnt win his 1st ring tell 28. obviously Kobe is better career wise. i dont think this list was talking about this last decade  it was talking about "the current quality of each player." and a 26.7/7.5/7.0/.510/.759 stat line reads good. and looks better than 25.3/5.1/4.7/.451/.828. and considering the first round playoff upset that happened with the lakers it would be ridiculous if he was ranked #1 or ahead of lebron. He should be higher than #7 though.
2nd off this BSPN shit reminds me of when people called the game "the Gayme" its not creative just really played out.
why is everybody so angry over Kobe...why isnt there an outrage over Dirk being #5? he outplayed wade & lebron in the finals and most of your points of lebron sucking are his final performance...so why isnt that a topic of conversation? cuz he isnt the members fav player?
my fav player is lamarcus aldridge (well actually Brandon Roy but with his leg problems he hasnt been the same) and think he should of been top 20 instead of #23. but there were bigger issues than that.

Nigga, are you blind? My second sentence was "everybody loved him in Cleveland". I know he was loved. Now he's hated.

Plus MJ didn't play in an era where people like NIK, who dedicate their life to message boards have freedom of speech to say whatever about him. If this were ten years ago, there would be millions of people posting about how MJ was was overrated & MJ isn't better than so & so. MJ just squeaked out of there & left Kobe to catch that "He isn't even the greatest Laker of all-time, let alone in NBA history"/

You ever notice how nobody today holds a candle to the people of yesterday? Too many stupid people giving their opinions.

Nigga, are you blind? My second sentence was "everybody loved him in Cleveland". I know he was loved. Now he's hated.

lol hes hated? he just got labeled number one in the league after choking in the playoffs again, dont get me wrong i dont think they would of reached the finals without him.

but being hated? in cleveland only. espn and the rest of the media are on his nuts. former and current NBA players are the ones that lost respect for him.

if dude actually cared about playing ball, he would of won, he would of won in cleveland, rather than ahve the coaching staff scared to say anything because he might leave through free agency, which he did anyways.

anyone remember the article where lebron wouldnt play D and nobody says shit to him, and right when Mo relaxed on D brown was like "no we cant have that"

and delonte stood up against that and told brown that everyone should be accountable on D not just certian people.

^ that is just ridiculous.

it's well documented, the NBA players who play against both kobe and lebron all know damn well that kobe is clearly better.. it's only bspn and the rest of the media who usually tries claimin otherwise.

Durant recently said  kobe would beat Lebron 1 on 1 which is not a surprise ,

there are other players than Kobe who had questionable placement you know right? like Dirk?  oh they don't play for the lakers NVM

i think Blake Griffin #10 is way more outrageous than Lebron being #1

did you not post it but thought you did? because Dirk wasnt mentioned by you yet. you have made good points and respect it just saying i think this topic is getting derailed by the laker fandom of this forum.

and Nik just cuz someone says they like Lebron or thinks he is the best doesnt mean they gobble his nuts. i dont even like Lebron but am defending him....and by you labeled a dickrider...my 5 fav players are Howard, Aldridge, Roy, Durant & Ray Allen.... im not sure which part of that screams Lebron dickrider....i don't see how if someone disagrees with you tehy are a dickrider. the only reason i called you a Kobe groupie is because you have been known to defend Kobe no matter what he does. I usually dont even go into the basketball threads but i remember this one http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=268571.25 which is why i knew you had a history of Defending Kobe no matter what. no player is perfect.

If I accomplished nothing, was two years younger than Jordan before he won a ring & was set up in a position where multiple rings were in my future (because I know you all like to shew this fact away but you all said they had no chance of winning in their first year together & they were five bad minutes away from winning) & I was ALREADY being compared to Kobe & Jordan, that's a compliment in itself. Not to mention this isn't the first year those comparisions came.

If the man is 30, given he isn't as deadly a shooter & has absolutely nothing besides three more Finals loses, because lets be honest nobody pre-finals is being the Heat (unless the Knicks get Paul & Dwight lmao if thats even possible), then we can have this conversation. But you guys are trying to force it two years before the the mighty MJ even hit his ring years.

with lebrons style of play, his body will start wearin off soon, and he will not be runnin through people the same way he did when he was 25...MJ's style of play allowed his prime years to extend well into his 30's...

Where do you figure that? It would be a valid point if there was ever somebody in the league like that to compare it to. We've never had a 6'8'' Point-Foward, who controls every aspect of the game & is highly aggressive when he drives.

Iverson was eight inches smaller than him, had a similar style of play, just with lay-ups opposed to dunks & was still scoring 20+ a game in his mid-thirties. LeBron is 26 lol.

One way or another, LeBron (if ever) will be winning very consistently in the next five years.

you can compare Kemp but Shaq obivously had alot more weight on him which is hard to carry, though i think any player would love to be compared to shaq..playing into his late 30's always on winning teams. As a sonic fan i can tell you kemp got seriously lazy and got fat. He was one of my fav players but his issues were due to himself not his playing style.

shaq got fucking fat and lazy during the last season  as a laker, if he were to keep in shape and not milk that toe injury i believe we would of won.

and this whole athleticism concept, which player has ever gotten far off that? every great was a skilled basketball player as well as an athlete. lebron, i don't see much skill, no foot work, no midrange game, not good too great on the post (kobe and melo are much better in the post than he is even though he has that athleticism and power to be greg)

dude is mentally weak, and he just isn't clutch, its not like he can drive and dunk his way to get a championship, if he does than kudos to him. on that heat roster i rather have wade, bosh, or bibby take that last shot before he does.

ok...i understand not liking lebron for the fashion he left Cleveland but because he joined a team with Wade & Bosh? he took a pay cut because he wanted to win. Obviously he isnt hurting for cash but most players wont take a cut (anybody remember Spreewell?) I dont think any less of Kobe for playing with the most dominant Center in the last 30 years and winning 4 rings with him. i dont think less of Pippin for playing with MJ. I dont think less of Parker or Ginobili for playing with Duncan. and i damn sure think nothing less of Allen, Garnett, Rondo & Pierce. i think alot less of Lebron for the way he left Cleveland which was classless and as of right now you are correct if he retired today he wouldnt be mentioned by us as one of the greats, but he has atleast another 8-10 years in the NBA. much to early to be making predictions of what the next generation will think of him.

I mentioned before I don't mind great old players that having only one thing missing in their resume which is a championship teaming up or joining a contender at least they had the heart do attempt it on their own,

Was ginobili a franchise player when he joined the spurs.? No he was a late 2nd draft pick, was Parker lol they wouldn't even be franchise players even if they had their own team if so very unlikey ? No, was pippin a franchise player ?

Was Kobe a franchise player or the number one pick when he got drafted ? Obviously not, the fact that Shaquille and Kobe wanted to do it on their own being the "man" lead to their split up

Lebron, bosh, and wade on the other hand, were being bitches scared and didn't even want to go on tryna do it by themselves, that's some pussy ass shit, that shows no competitive heart. U think when ray Allen, kg, and pierce were in their prime they wanted to team up cuz they were pussies? No they wanted to have the chane to win it all by themselves if they could help it

U think sad dams regime vs the un coalition fair? These dudes are pussies they don't wanna go one on one, they didn't stick with their hood, instead they hood hopped wanting to jump people like some scared bitches

Current and former NBA players said it themselves they get no respect doing it like that, none of those three can ever be labeled as the "best to ever play the game"

Fuck it y didn't bird, magic and drexler team up back in the day? Y? Because they were true champions they were loyal to their team and wanted to do it with waterer they had rather than do ditch their team and city cuz they were scared

Bird and magic saved the NBA from bankruptcy with their talent and competitive spirit and rivalry, I'd imagine there would be no NBA because bird and magic were some lil hoes and want the easy way out and win 7 rings, no competitiveness and no epic celtics vs lakers rivalry

God I don't need to be explaining this again,

Fuck it y not juz have Kobe, kg, Shaquille, Tracy mc Grady, and AI all in the same team in 02 or 03, would that still be competition? U wouldn't be able to double team any one, and this team hardly have to leave their men to help on defense.

I definitely think there should be rules against more than 2 legit franchise players teaming up, it kills competitiveness and it obviously hurts the small market teams, there wasn't  a rule like this before because nobody had the vagina to do it, they were men period

U think people would give them a pass? Hell the fuck no, even t-Mac said he ain't joinin jelly bean till he wins one himself and I give him props for doin it like a man

This is why you fans are retarded. Basically, their "bitches" for choosing to win over getting paid tens of millions of dollars more. Something you same fans bitch about when people leave teams because they didn't get enough money.

& Kobe's ENTIRE legacy is because of Shaq. If Kobe never wins that threepeat, which he couldn't of done without Shaq & just has his recent rings, he's a "great player". They split up after they took the L. But you're acting like they weren't together for three rings. I'll speak like you're speaking, "If Kobe wasn't such a little fucking bitch, he would of left in '99, when he realized him & Shaq were dominate".

& LMFAO @ saying Bird & Magic. Like half of their respective rosters aren't in the Hall of Fame. Sure, they were the best players, but their supporting casts were incredible.

You're a hypocrite though. If LeBron said, "I'm taking my talents to my nigga Kobe in LA" & he wins, you'd be on his nuts saying he might be the greatest thing to ever touch the court. But he set himself up to win somewhere else & you're mad that he's more than likely gunna win.

But he set himself up to win somewhere else & you're mad that he's more than likely gunna win.

u dont get it, do u, fagboy? kobe never ran behind shaq to win him a championship, he was drafted to that team. when it was evident that kobe was great enough 2 lead a team 2 the promise land on his own, him and shaq started having problems and they eventually SPLIT. lebron doesnt have that spice in him, to want to feel like "the man", because deep down, he KNOWS he is incapable of leading the way...THATS WHY HE TUCKED HIS TAIL AND RAN BEHIND WADE N BOSH, TWO FRANCHISE PLAYERS. If he ran to LA to play behind Kobe, it would be the same exact story.

Shaq & Kobe had problems cuz there wasn't enough ball to go around not because Kobe is some noble guy who wanted to win by himself....that is ridiculous. Why do you guys obsess over Lebron & Kobe. do you see the title of this thread? there were 500 players ranked and you guys love/hate those players so much that this has turned into a 4 page kobe vs. lebron argument.

How about we talk about Meta World Peace being the most retarded name change of all time.

This is why you fans are retarded. Basically, their "bitches" for choosing to win over getting paid tens of millions of dollars more. Something you same fans bitch about when people leave teams because they didn't get enough money.

But like I said, you wouldn't report it that way if he went to LA.

& Kobe didn't run behind Shaq to win him rings, agreed. Doesn't change the fact he was placed behind Shaq to win rings. Then Shaq leaves, he finishes worse than .500 & threatens the team he'll leave to Chicago if they don't get him help lol.

I mean, NIK, you're the most predictable man on the planet, so naturally with years of hindsight Kobe "would have never left LA", but we all know he was dipping. Kobe lead, psh LOL. Kobe had better than Daniel Gibson & he didn't lead no Laker team to the NBA Finals.

Oh, yeah. I guess he did lead Andrew Bynum ("Wilt Jr."), Pau Gasol (All-star), Ron Artest (great defender), Lamar Odom (would start on every other team in the NBA) & Derek Fisher (experienced veteran) to the Finals. Like I said, those years alone showed who Kobe was.

how is that a smh. The only Smh in that statement is Bynum Wilt Jr. and Meta World peace is more than a great defender thats an understatement. it was shown this year Gibson sucks without Lebron. Artest & Odom have both proven they are great without Kobe.  Lebron asked for dumb trades thats a given. But if you think Lebron had a team with a chance of winning your crazy. You have to have a supporting cast. I mean it was better than playing with the Pistons or Bobcats but still the only player worth mentioning on Cleveland is Anderson Varejao who Gasol, Bynum & Odom all better than. Yet again why can't you people agree to disagree and talk about a different subject. obviously Cham likes Lebron and Nik & Loon3y like Kobe....there is a lot more to basketball than them.
I'm hoping this season happens Blazers are finally starting to look good between Aldridge, Wallace, Roy, Batum, Camby, Felton, & Mathews there is some good talent. If Roy gets back to his old self i see us as one of the top teams in all the NBA.
FUCK THE THUNDER & OKLAHOMA CITY.

I feel your pain brother, but at least the NBA should be returning to WA in the next few years, Rep. Mike Hope is bringing a plan to the state legislature in January using jock and parking taxes that wouldn't require public funding for an arena in Seattle or Bellevue. On a separate note, how can you root for the Blazers? I just moved to Portland for school and I don't even know how I'll be able to root for them.

I don't like LeBron at all, but I don't know how you can say his supporting cast was as good as Kobe's. As a Kobe fan myself I would much rather have him play (through the years) with guys like Gasol, Bynum, Artest, Odom, and Ariza than Jamison, Williams, Hughes, West, and Illgauskas. I'll give you that the Cavs probably had a deeper bench than LA, and that injuries to Bynum and Ariza hurt LA on a few occasions, but overall I'd much rather have the Lakers team even if analysts called the Cavs the "strongest" team. As much as I enjoyed watching LeBron choke in the finals last year, I don't think it's fair to say his Cavs supporting cast had the same kind of fire power that Kobe's did.

i never said they were as strong, but that doesnt mean they weren't built to win...they were a defensive unit who revolved around LeBron. that was their game-plan and the way they wanted it. they had the tools to win, they were actually favored to win it all the last 2 years that they lost. that just shows u how media perception influences decision. Varaejo was on the all defensive team, Mo Williams was on fire and was an all-star (Odom wasn't), Antawn Jamison was a 20-10 guy as a franchise player, Ilgauskas was a nice back-up center, Delonte West was a strong perimeter defender, Anthony Parker was a veteran presence ala Fisher...during the regular season, they allowed less points than any other team. Everyone was saying how great they were, and then once LeBron quit on them, all of a sudden everyone's tune changed and all of a sudden "they sucked"...dont get me wrong, i never thought they were that great to begin with, but to say they didnt have enough firepower to win starts and ends with LeBron James. If that were Magic, Michael, Kobe, Bird, etc leading those teams, they had more than enough to win....thats what im sayin. At the very least, they shoulda EASILY handled Boston in LeBron's last year with Cleveland.

^Yeah, but dumbass, they were ONLY built to win because of LeBron. LeBron was built to win that year he lost to Spurs, but only because of him. The Lakers couldn't win without Kobe, obviously, but there are games that aren't decided by Kobe. Games Pau takes over & dominates. It's a team effort of there in LA, always was. Even going back to Shaq's years.

LeBron was always in an Allen Iverson-like role, where games are determined by his performance. When Kobe was put in that position to completely just win & lose games, they were awful.

The same Boston team that took LA to 7 games that year? Boston was still a very strong team at that point as opposed to the year after when they gave up Perkins in that retarded OKC deal. Did he choke in the Celtics series? Yeah, but it's not like he had a cakewalk to the finals and that his supporting cast was really doing their part. I still don't think he has the kind of killer instinct that the all time greats have/had, but it's hard for me to put all the blame on him for those Cavs teams short comings because it seems like they never won unless he took over the game.

He didn't have 60 wins the year he went to the Finals & like I said, Daniel Gibson & Big Z were LeBron's go to players. I think he got criticized that season for driving down the lane & kicking the ball out to a wide open Donell Marshall in the corner. CRITICIZED for letting somebody wide open shoot. If that doesn't say it all, I don't know how you expect even Kobe fans like Remedy to take you seriously.

Kobe just couldn't do it. Get over it.

Gibson and Z were not the go-to players, but for the sake of ur lame argument, lets say they were...in the next 2 years, LeBron was given a BETTER cast, and instead of getting better with that better cast, he DIGRESSED and didn't even make the Finals, when his team was good enough got the best record in the league. Not a good look. best believe a player like Kobe would have found a way to bring Cleveland to the promise land, as opposed to jetting and forming some "super team" with 2 other franchise players......that is why LeBron is LeBron and Kobe is Kobe.

not just ESPN analysts...Las Vegas odds had Cleveland favored. those Cavs teams had the best record in the league, for fucks sake. but each and every time, LeBron let 'em down, with 1 choke job after the other...thats why he is yet to be seen in the upper echelon of all-time greats. that simple fact.

rayallen, c'mon. NIK just fights the argument presented at the moment. He's been hypocritical his entire life.

If you look at his old account before the serious LeBron talk, he use to hype up the Lakers as the greatest squad on the planet & more or less said the Lakers could beat any five players in the World & Phil Jackson was amazing. Andruw Bynum was better than Shaq in his prime & Dwight Howard wasn't good, Pau was the best big man in basketball, Jordan Farmar was on pace to win MVP this coming 2012 season. But then I believe it was during the NBA season when LeBron had lost to the Celtics in the playoffs, he completely switched his opinion because people started saying "Look what LeBron does with nothing & Kobe has a Western all-star team in LA" & then that's when all those "future Laker greats" turned into medicore players. "Bynum never really developed due to injuries", "Pau is inconsistent & soft at times", "Jordan Farmar was dope when I played with him in high school, now he's whatever" & then those "dominating" Cavs players, like Varejao turned into NBA defensive greats. Kid is a complete joke when talking sports. But is clearly insecure by saying "you don't know shit & I know everything" in all his posts.

rayallen, c'mon.

& NIK, who else was on that Cavs team since you're telling me Big Z wasn't the second best player...

everything u say is a lie...and the answer is Larry Hughes

Without getting too involved, fact of the matter is - Both Lebron and Kobe have had teams built around them specifically in order to win championships. Thus far, Kobe has so many championship rings he's almost running out of fingers, while LeBron has none.

This will probably change in the future. But last year his dream team Heat side were beaten by a team that up until the latter stages of the playoffs no-one was even CONSIDERING for the title. Lebron still has a lot of work to do to become a Hall of Famer. He WILL do it at some point in the near future though. Thats inevitable.

There was a funny and popular website solely dedicated to Larry Hughes horrible shot selection. Dude was a complete joke and the worst contract in the league for that time being. It's ridiculous to pretend that the supporting cast was in the same universe as the current Laker one..

not as good as the current Laker team, but certainly not as bad as the Kwame-Luke-Smush era Lakers....anyways, there was a time when Larry Hughes was good. he fell off quick, yes, but he was actually part of that big 3 on that exciting Washington team that made it to the Eastern semis, a 22 ppg scorer that year, actually.

This. Can we stop arguing about pointless shit? obviously neither of you are going to all of a sudden go oh now i do think Lebron is the greatest or now i think Kobe is the greatest.

Hughes got open cuz of Jamison & Arenas. just like Gibson looked good cuz of Lebron.

^not really...Hughes was a facilitator, averaging 6 assists a game, and even a good perimeter defender, averaging 3 steals....he just fell off when he left Washington, most likely because he was stuck in an offense that revolved around LeBron holding the ball on his hands for 95% of the possessions.

The players rated above Bryant by ESPN in order were (1) LeBron James, (2) Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant.

ESPN is clearly trash.
