The sad thing is life is still the same for most women outside of Kabul as it was under the taliban. But hey, American oil companies have got their pipeline going through the country now so who cares ::)

I think it's great that they're making their life better, and changing the unfair roles of the past.

It will... once people get a taste of a truth, it can't be killed.  (I'm dead serious) Now that they know how things should be, it'll keep heading that way, no matter how slow.

I think it depends on how long it will take for TV and radio to become a mass medium over there, as without it most peeps won't know the big changes their country has gone through (if they ain't in one of the few main cities). The government just banned cable TV as well, making it harder to spread unbiased news and more likely the state will control TV (and the news). So if it does happen, i think it will be incredibly slow, if at all. If you don't believe me just look at how important the media was in the revolutions in Eastern Europe in '89-91.

Well then.  I rate your ass on the bottom, We've got like 5 within 2 miles of my house!!!!

Nah, just kidding, that's pretty good for a foriegn country.  I'd say total in Charlotte, we've probably got a dozen in town.  It's not unusual to see them within a few blocks of each other in big cities in america; we have them inside some stores, too... Like when Incredible Universe was open, there was a McDonalds inside it, etc.
