Title: LaBron James
Post by: budsmokeronly on February 03, 2003, 12:33:36 AM
for those of u that don't know James is a very talented High school basketball player.  so talented that he could be called kobe bryant II, and he is the number 1 draft pick for the NBA.  anyways he is a senior and he has just been ruled ineligible to play the rest of the season because he accepted 2 sports jerseys as gifts.  He is going to contest the ruling, but he will still miss 3 games, out of a remaining 6 I believe.  he is 18 years old and has to deal wit a shitload of media.  his team is going for the championship and James' suspension could cost the team the championship.  and his mother bought him a new Hummer H2 for a birthday present which caused a lot of controversy.  What do u guys think about this?  I think it is bullshit.  leave the poor kid alone.  he is living many kids dreams, and now they want to rob him of that.  so he accepted a couple of jersey's... big fucking deal.  Its not like he is being suspended for drugs or violence.  straight jealous playa haters at work here.

Mos Def 100%

LeBron is just a high school student...any kid would want free throw back jerseys if they got the opportunity.  If this was just another high school player the Ohio high school association wouldn't give a shit.

I saw LeBron play at the MLK classic.  Kid got potential, but needs a lot of work to make it big.  I think Sebastian Teflair is better, courtsense wise, but bottomline...let LeBron enjoy the fame...

can u give a logical and reasonable explanation why u feel that he should be suspended?  so what if he broke the rules.  that rule is gay as fuck anyway.  fuck rules and laws.  the kid has mad talent, and he got a gift of two jerseys.  big fucking deal!!!  Does he not deserve it???  Just cause rules and laws are made doesn't make them right.  and do u think if this kid wasn't even half as good as he is and still got the jersey's, do u still think he would be suspended?  I don't.  Fuckin jealous playa hataz can't stand to see a mutha fucka come up.  Hoez make the world harder than it have ta be (Yeah dat's Right!)
Title: Re:LaBron James
Post by: Sub-Z on February 04, 2003, 11:51:56 AM
if he cant take responsibility to find out what the rules are and abide by them then he doesnt deserve to play period,so why wont everyone stop crying bout him being suspended when he obviously broke a rule

but i do think they should retract the suspension considering he did give the jerseys back.....

it wasnt just accepting a gift.  It was basically a future contract.  Fuck these people are trying to protect him and not use him like his mom, his mom basically got a loan for what HES GOING TO GET.   Thats being arrogant. "Give the kid a break". Fuck man , hes already living the high life, now u wanna spoil the kid before hes even a star in the NBA.  yes, give him a break, and let him EARN it.

People are hating bigtime on this guy.  Theyre just trying to bring him down becuase hes so big everywhere.  Hes gona be a star in the NBA.  Ive watched a shit load of video on this guy, hes fucking sick...Watch him dunk between his legs DURING the fucking game...He shoots NBA 3's (which are way behind the highschool line) with ease.  LeBron is a scoring machine and will terroize the NBA!

you do know that youre watching high school basketball right?? lol   i can shoot nba 3's with ease,so whats your point ?? nba 3's are easy ,and does he get more points for doing a fancy dunk than if he did a basic layup?

people who think that he should be suspended are probably the same people who thought bill clinton should have been impeached for getting a blow job.  BIG FUCKING DEAL!  Stop hatin on someone who is doing better than yourself.  There is many many more problems in the world that r 100x worse than this.  What is wrong with accepting a gift, even if it is against the rules?

Look, everyone is making money off this kid, money he isn't even allowed to touch. That's what's fucked up, students are suppose to live up to standards, well his school is touring him all over the fucking country, making tons of money off ticket prices to see a fucking high school game, and getting money off pay-per-view to see him play, and ESPN 2 and his school are making regular cable money. This kid is feeding everyone, why not get a jearsy, shit, it's not like his getting his Addidas contract yet, or anything else. And if I was a bank, I would trust LaBron James mom on a loan, shit, the kid's going number 1 in the draft, and is the greatest high school player ever, any questions.

hey genius, there is a huge difference betweet stealing and being given something.  That comparison is almost as bad as trauma's comparison of pot smoking to murder.  So why don't you just explain to me why you believe that it is a good rule for high school athletes not to receive gifts.

so basically what I get from sub Z, and erijzo's arguments is that u guys don't think for yourself.  just cause it is a rule doesn't mean that it is right.  r u the type of people that follow every law and rule just because they are laws and rules.  If u r, that really sucks.  there are lots of people in the world that r like that, and it is sad.  learn to think for yourself.  what if a law passed that banned rap music.  would u be for that law?  or how bout hitler and his rules about killing all kinds of people who are not part of the aryan race.  just cause laws and rules exist, don't make them right.

I just wanna know why u believe that.  I gave u an example of hitlers rule's, and according to your statement, u agree with what happened in the holocaust.  Rules are rules.  Explain to me why u believe that it is fair to be punished for breaking the rule of accepting a gift.  Celebrities and rich people get off from breaking the law all the time.  Example: jay Z stabbing that guy, and didn't have to serve any time.  OJ getting away with murder (I don't know for a fact, but it is pretty obvious).  And are u telling me in the history of high school athletics, every athlete who has gotten a gift has been punished for it?  I highly doubt that.  I know all the star athletes in my high school got all kinds of "gifts" and no one would ever think to punish them.  I would be willing to bet at least 100 (which is a very small number) hs athletes this year alone have received gifts, but only labron james is being punished for it.  So if the rules are to hold true, and your statement is to hold true, every single hs athlete should be suspended for receiving gifts.

my point is that if you break a rule you must accept the consequences!!!!....period!!!......if i was with hitler an i decided not to kill anyone or discriminate against anyone........i would have to accept the consequences......catch my drift????.....im not saying he is right or wrong....but he broke a rule so therfore he must accept the consequences.......im sure a shit load of athletes like you said get gifts........but if they dont get caught good for them.......but im sure most of the time they know the consequences if they where to get caught.......my point is if you break a rule expect there to be consequences

i agree wit this post...i also think its a stupid rule for the most part....i just want to add this to it though....if you break a rule whether you thik the rule is right or wrong you better be ready to except the consequences......this has been my point this whole time....
Title: Re:LaBron James

The rule was made to protect young athletes.  It wasnt a gift.  It was basically money giving to him, so he can take some pictures with the jerseys and put them around the store.  800 bucks for that? Hmmmm I think when hes a pro, he will get 800 bucks for a second on TV.  THEY ROBBED HIM!  The store robbed him for his image.  Which is sad.  I am not hating on him, I feel sorry for the guy.  He was basically being a model for the store, for 800 bucks, and come on how much does Iverson get for his shoe contract with Reebox?

Oh yea , here is a question.

If im going to med school, and I want to buy an expensive car, should the bank loan me the money while im finishin school to be a doc?

Yes , please give the kid a break and dont rob him or use him, thats why that rule is there

Bullshit? Now do you see, muthafucka...He lead UCLA to their first NCAA appearance in 3 years...He's easily the best Freshman in the Pac-10...Baron Davis didn't do nearly as much as Jordan Farmer did for UCLA as a Freshman...I don't speak out of my ass, when I said Jordan Farmer was going to be big, I meant it...He's not huge yet, but he's leading a heavily improved UCLA team and is doing a damn good job at it...Watch, he just turned 18 and is just now starting to put on weight...I give it 3-4 years and he'll be one of the better point guards in the NBA...PeACe

the entire team was dysfunctional in 2004...everyone sucked as a collective unit. the series was lost on defense tho, as Shaq refused to come up on pick n rolls and Malone was injured. not the same as lebron letting the heat down in 2011 while wade and bosh beasted. nice try tho.

u weren't even alive back then.. it was a defensive oriented series, taysauhn prince and rip Hamilton shot 38% and 40%, Derek fisher 30%, Gary Payton 32%, Karl Malone 33%.....we lost because Malone was injured and we had no defense. but u wouldn't know that because u started watching basketball in 2012

I remember it clear as day.

Back when LeBron was an infant to the league. He wasn't thinking about defending Kobe's legacy, just being a straight shooter on what he saw.

Back when the Lakers meant more than just Kobe.

LEBRON LITERALLY HANDPICKED HIS TEAM...BUT WATCH AS THE LEBRON APOLOGISTS FICCA A WAY TO COME UP WITH A THOUSAND EXCUSES

IF HE WINS HE GETS ALL THE GLORY...IF HE LOSES HE GETS ALL THE BLAME. THATS HOW IT WORK IN THE NBA.

BUT THE GROUPIES PUT THEMSELVES IN A WIN-WIN BECAUSE OF HOW UNCONFIDENT THEY ARE IN THEIR HEROES ABILITY, THEYVE WENT AS FAR AS MAKING EXCUSES IN ADVANCE

LMAO
