Granted, some of his tracks are indeed very good, but the guy was a fucking douchebag. In countless interviews he comes off as a blatant idiot who rants on about everything and nothing. This guy could make a brick wall irritated at him, which to some degree I have to him some props.

I agree with the original poster. Tupac was kind of a jerk. And he was pretty hateful, no matter which way you look at it. It's just not a good thing.
I'm sure people will try to disagree, but realistically he was an asshole who unfortunately got killed before he could have learned the error of his ways. I think he would have came to his senses and tried to fully dedicate himself to the positive thing that shined thru him every so often, or otherwise, I think he would have become a self parody like 50 Cent has become because he's tried to pick fights with everyone.

If I were raised in a single-parent household in near-poverty with the kind of instability that comes with being part of a Black Panther family targeted by the law and lacking the ability to pursue a good education to get a good job while later getting falsely accused of rape, shot five times, incarcerated for crimes I didn't commit while other people disrespected me and took advantage of my absence while I'd have to sit in a prison cell, I'd probably be a jerk, too.
But at least Pac was generous enough to take care of his entire family, give money to people who needed it (far more than the pocket change that I give to homeless people or the dollar bills I put in the collection basket at church), try to unite the community, etc.

I've heard from numerous people that Pac was not too nice of a guy. Very hot headed, tempered, and if he felt you were "beneath him," he would disrespect you. But I've also heard that he looked out for those he cared about like no other. So I guess it depends who you talk to.
