Title: Throwback: Ghostface sayin the new Wu album is bullshit
Post by: Gamestarr on September 10, 2012, 08:50:06 AM

More people should express how they feel in stead of just being YES MEN.

Well then they should release a mixtape the day of the release with nothin but that hardcore shit on there and the other asian shit they do.

But Ghost is right about RZA jah like.  The original version of "Dark Fantasy" sounded 'dumbed down' on the retail with all of that extra bs other than the intro i guess.  I assume it's shit like that and songs like that he's talking about.

the music business is full of fakes and followers. one nigga do somethin' the next one try to do it too like u said too many fuckin' yes men and also outlets like youtube & worldstar allows a lot of bullshit music to surface unfiltered.

thats how he felt, but wu-tang aint wu-tang witout rza.....if rza wants his hand in every track, thats on him. he's the producer and he should be able to decide which direction the production goes in. they simply aint on the same page, which is the main problem.

wrong.  chemistry is chemistry.  but he did say theyve done more tracks tho so he coulda just made the mistake of picking the wrong 1's, it does happen.  it happened with "Tha Doggfather" and other albums some of the time

"Tha Doggfather" was a great album..as for this, they dont have chemistry the way they did in '95. u can tell by the interview.

It's tough to expect a group with so many members to be on the same page forever..still sucks though.

That album had the potential material to equal "Doggystyle" from a different angle (and from what I've heard that couldn't have been too far off ("IllMatc" > "It Was Written"???).  This is one of the two albums that nobody ever talks about.  He should've been proven he coulda worked without Dre, he had done it moderately up until that point.  Anyways, it's like crying over spilled milk so let it go.

They need me to Executive Produce their new album.  I could generate both the quality and the money and keep everybody satisfied with the final product.  The Wu Tang Clan be sleepin' on these forums

see thats the problem right there. How can one dude's ego be so big that he decides to ruin the album for every other member.

and it would actually be dope to hear Wu-Tang on some different production for once!

yes but still a lot of it has been done by either RZA or something else similar in style. ol skool new york with a twist of crazy. lol

Also.. I want the GROUP to hop on different producers joints.

i think the main problem is that they aint lettin rza do his thing....instead, they tryna get swizz beats and neptunes and shit, and rza wants 2 keep it true to the authentic wu-tang shit, which some other members are tired of. just the difference in opinion goin in already fux with the chemistry and the probability of puttin forth their best effort. let the producer of the group produce. all the greatest albums were made that way.

some of the beats was subpar but in order to create great shit the chemistry has to be there. me as a fan though, an album in the vein of wu tang forever would be epic. and no hbg your services are not needed. LOL

No it wasn't.  Everybody knew that album was way too long and had filler on it.  You're buggin if u didn't think that album didn't need to be cut down.  It's a beautiful album but it's ugly and all over the place (even for an 12 man crew; I'm countin Red & Capp).

Word... like not having Warren G produce the 2-1-3 album, although the album did have some nice cuts on there.

...this is the problem with hip-hop today.  Puffy started this thing in 97', 98' where he started doing songs for everybody, appearing in everyone's video's, and next thing you know Snoop started doing the same shit and the rest of the game followed.

Back in the golden age of hip-hop rappers usually kept it in house.  Worked with artists they were down with, rappers from the same hood, region, or at least artists with similar styles.   Chemistry was very important to making a great record.  Rza is the genius behind Wu-tang, to not have him manage and produce the Wu-Tang album is bullshit.

yea...that 213 album was dope. but it had potential to be classic if warren handled the bulk of the production. the fact that he didn't produce one song was a mockery. i remember he came on here saying he was gunna release a version of the album where he re-mixed all the songs with his own beats. i guess that never came to fruition (although, i do remember a remix or 2 surfacing).

you're 100% right, though....the game changed for the worse. more crews need 2 keep shit in-house. very little people are doin it that way nowadays.

why r u stanning so hard Nik?  i know it's just your opinion but damn son.

"Tha Doggfather" along with alot of Snoop's later albums are "the albums that could've been".  Him, Pac, and Dre (ironically) and a few other cats (like Bone Thugs) are pretty much the poster children 4 that

Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told
Top Dogg
Tha Last Meal
Tha Blue Carpet Treatment

and even Malice In Wonderland could've been better than what it was.

Proper quality oversight has ALWAYS been Snoop's problem ever since Dre left Death Row in 96' (16 years ago).  He has the body of work to supplement his career and accolades but the end result of some of his albums will make u believe otherwise.  His ego and Executives played a huge part of that part problem.

That's your opinion Nik.  Just becuz Snoop said that he signs more "Doggfather" albums than "Doggystyle" doesn't automatically make it great.  I fucked with that album but it literally had the potential to be so much better than it was and there's evidence and facts showing that.

Don't lie, it's only years later that u truly appreciated that album for what it was.  Don't get caught up in that "Google Search Engine History" state of mind like the rest of these online bamaz do
