Kanye has achieved two dope tracks in his career:
1. "All of the Lights"
2. "Heartless"
Jay-Z on the other hand has only achieved one dope track in his career
1. "Can't knock the hustle"
...therefore Kanye > Jay-Z
-
Really, I mean I have Kanye over Jay-Z too, but only based on songs not skill. And also, only 2 dope tracks from Kanye? I was feeling whole albums by him.
-
kanye is a great example of a talented dude that makes a lot of boring, predictable, and also try too hard music (always sounded corny to me).
never liked him.
jay z's got some classic songs under his belt for sure, waay more listenable for me.
-
What Jay-Z albums have you listened to Infinite? And for that matter, what Kanye albums?
-
This might be the stupidest music thread in Dubcc and thats sayin something. But its coming from Brian so would we expect any less?
-

Spot on. I think that's it...
-
What Jay-Z albums have you listened to Infinite? And for that matter, what Kanye albums?
I've listened to pretty much all his albums from 1996 through the Black album. From the time I first started listening to hip-hop (with the Chronic album) I was used to Death Row being on top of the industry. They always had the hottest albums so I got in the habit of buying whatever was the hott hip-hop album of the time. Because of that I ended up buying a couple Jay-Z albums in the 90's just because they were hott at the time, but I started to realize that the mid-90's were actually an anomaly and that the best rap artists in the game wouldn't always be on top. And that some of the popular music was nothing more than trash and lies that would destroy your mind, body, and soul.
-
Infinite wishes he was as widely respected and admired by the black community as Jay-Z is. This explains the jealousy.

please stop trolling my posts. I didn't take you to be one of those types that follows me into each thread I post in and disses me for unrelated reasons, this is yet another new low for you

You really shouldnt talk about lows considering you're the guy who makes yoga videos directed towards me as a failed attempt at intimidation.

The word "prententious" doesn't even begin to describe you. You're probably the kind of dude who gets his education from rap lyrics, instead of books, right?

I'd like to see you explain how I'm being "pretentious", because I doubt you even know what that word means. And I have a personal library of around 100 books that I have read cover to cover. I used to have a job at a hospital being on standby for suicide threats and other patients who needed constant supervision, most of the time they just slept the whole night, in those couple years alone I read more books then you will ever read in your life.
-
You were probably a patient in the suicide ward.
And if you don't know what pretentious means, then out of the 100s of books you read many of them must've been trash.
-
Dead Presidents.
-
I'm not a fan of either of these illuminati puppets but I can't say that the number of good songs they have is a single digit, especially Kanye who had a track with J. Cole.
-

Oh dear, 2 of his worst are his best? Judging by your Rhianna thread, you only think All Of The Lights is dope is because of her. Your brain is seriously messed up also if you think Can't Knock The Hustle is Jigga's only dope song.
-
a guy who says Kanye only got 2 and Jay 1 good song is just pathetic...stop listening to hip-hop or at least dont male threads about it please...
-
Flip this shit and people post 2 of their best tracks for each artist

Kanye has collaborated with Nas on multiple occasions, I'm surprised you didn't list those.

Rihanna was definitely the star on the track, but I also felt like Kanye and Kid Cudi gave solid contributions

jay z 1 good song?
what about Bring It On, Dead Presidents, In My Lifetime, Lobster N Scrimp or Where I'm From??
I'm far from a huge Jay Z fan but Brian you make the white race look like Malibu's Most Wanted meets John Walker in Afghanistan
-
dope jay z songs: heart of the city, imaginary player, brooklyn's finest, ain't no nigga, regrets, dead presidents, u don't know, h to the izzo, encore, the rulers back, 30 somethin',etc.

This thread so stupid i dont know why iam posting?
iam not a fan of either but this is bullshit. I've heard plenty of good Jay-z songs. Think i only ever bought one of his albums and it wasnt fantastic but it had more than two good songs and "reasonable doubt" had more than two good songs lol....
I've only ever heard one kayne solo(jesus walks) but ive heard some good guest appearances so iam guessing he has good songs?
Lil wayne sucks but i bet he has lots of good songs also.
-

Can't be saying much about Kanye if you think he wasn't the star of one of his best tracks....

Dear lord. How fucked up is your ego? You don't decide what's dope, and from this thread obviously shouldn't be acting like you do. Your taste is shit.
-
I think Kanye is just as good as Jay. Although Jay has proven longevity, its still to be seen whether Ye will be making good music in 4-5 years. He's definitely creative and has an ear for suave sound.
They both have heaps of good songs, the thread title is wack.
The entire Watch the Throne album is great (New Day, Lift Off, etc). Dark Twisted Fantasy was great.
Favorite Kanye tracks:
Devil in a Blue Dress
POWER
Can't Tell Me Nothing
Good Morning
Jay Z:
Feelin It
Dead Presidents II
Black Republicans (ft Nas)
My 1st Song
Beach Chair
Glory (Yes I like this song, why wouldn't you? Its about having a kid and being successful as fuck).
Positive music. Gets me in the mood for making money via legal avenues.
-
I really can't stand either of these fudgepackers, but both of them have a handful of classic tracks.
This is a shock thread as usual.
-
Jay-Z is a much better rapper than Kanye.
Kanye started off as a really dope producer, but his music became too generic over the years.
still, Jay-Z >>> Kanye (from a rapping standpoint)

this is just another Brian shock thread

Lobster N Scrimp
Lobster N Scrimp is definitely one of his few decent tracks... borderline "good"
-
dope jay z songs: heart of the city, imaginary player, brooklyn's finest, ain't no nigga, regrets, dead presidents, u don't know, h to the izzo, encore, the rulers back, 30 somethin',etc.
all wack

^LMFAO.
Anyway, there are days I just shake my head that a guy like BloodMoney caught a ban. :eh:
-
Why would you define all of that stuff as whack? Is it because they're not rapping about substantial stuff like California, weed, hoes, and killing as much as much as guys like Snoop and Dre?
-

because Jay-Z is a monotone rapper and when he tries to put some emotion and change his voice it sounds forced like he's trying to hard. And his lyrical content doesn't appeal to real niccaz... only to people like the idiot who said his music gives him motivation to "get legal money" lmao

But who determines who is and isn't a "real nicca"?

You should be asking yourself that question, wicca.

Wow, what a hater.
I got a two degrees and I'm a lawyer. Sure, I'm an idiot. What do you do for a living?

LOL, ok. I consider myself to be open minded, I don't shoot something down before I know what it's about. Judging by your various posts about music, women, etc, you seem to have a very biased and one sided perspective on nearly every topic. I think that's a shame. If that's what "real" is to you, then so be it, but I'm not about that.
-
I'd say they have 5 definitive classic albums between each other much less a few songs

Me? Hell no. I was making the point that the OP said that track was one of Kanyes best. He then goes on to say he wasn't even the star of it...

Don't even bother bro, you've already achieved more in your life than Brian ever will.
