On that topic, Snoops always done plenty of mainstream 'feats' but I guess there are less traditional R&B artists now (you get the impression labels aren't marketing 'black music' so much. Nearly everything these days has to be universally appealing).
But for me, a fan of 20 years, it's the garbage he does that's meant to be credible rap - not who he works with outside the genre (I can just ignore those if I want to)

I couldn't care less about his doing a song with Katy Perry, why should Snoop pretend he's still in the hood (like he does on Gangbang Rookie, ridiculous song btw) when he clocks 10 mil a year ? I always appreciated Snoop's humor (something rap lacks a bit too much imo) and open-minded approach, but this Snoop Lion thing, and his gross lack of focus since The Blue Carpet Treatment put me off.

not even so much pretendin' he's from the hood because to me if an artist is from that world he or she can always embrace it as long as some growth is shown too. but snoop needs to put together a cohesive hip hop album somethin' he hasn't done since tha last meal. tha blue carpet album was cool minus 3 or 4 songs but that's the shit he should be on right now not that lion bullshit. I bet it has something to do with wanting a Snoop Dogg feature and BG Knoccout not having money to pay for it. Snoop has worked with a lot of rappers in the past (some for little or no money). Besides, didn't BG Knoccout record an album's worth of material with Kurupt as part of 1st Generation? Why not settle your beef behind the scenes, like men? He sounds like a straight up hater.

You can do business with friends, but you gotta understand that it is business. You need to look out for yours just like you would if you were dealing with complete strangers, and if you get the short end of the stick you can't blame anyone but yourself.

Unsure as to the reasons for BG Knocc to diss Mr Snoop but I am sure there's a reason.
I'm not alone in when I say I have hated Snoop's cartoon like/pimp/gangster/boss joke of a persona foryears. It even makes me believe Suge when he says he created Snoop's gangster image.

I remember reading a review of Doggfather (Last album I actually liked of Snoops), where the reviewer said "Snoop should crawl over broken glass to get back to Dre".
His best stuff is with Dre, else he's just corny.
Regarding BG Knocc, as much as like him, his last album was disappointing. After serving time, becoming a grown man I thought we'd hear something special with a new view on life and all the wannabe gangster rappers.
I always viewed early 'gangster rap' as street music as it was refreshing, political and relavant to the day... We are now in 2013 not 1988 and I just can't relate to 'I'm a bigger gangster than you and I have a bigger gun and I'm going to kill everyone...' it's become a parody!
