We always talk about how we love their collaborations and wanna see them workin' together more, but what's the worst collabo they did?
-
kush.
-
On The Blvd is fairly horrible
-
kush.

On The Blvd is fairly horrible
Never cared for it either. I remember when it first came out and some people were acting like it was the greatest song to ever come out.
God.....come to think of it, the entire Wash soundtrack was pretty bad outside of a few tracks.
-
On da blvd?? damn this track iz da shit!!
Kush for me

yup. 8)

'Flashy' is by far the worst. The beat is horrible.

Still better than the LL version 8) 8)

I would said it's "Bitch Niggaz" from 2001. Doesnt have that "Dre/Snoop" feel to it. Snoop sounds better over those Dre beats with more tempo and energy to them

:o :o :o :o :o

definitely Kush...was dope when I first heard it but had no replay value
-
Kush, however even their worse is still better then a lot of other rappers.
And even though I like "bitch Niggaz" I could see how someone might think it has a "Dre/Snoop" Feel to it, because on that track they really aren't playing off each other and for me Kush is the same way, despite the fact they both are on it, both in the video, it doesn't have the Chemestry as say nuthin but a G Thing or Deep Cover. and that's really been the issue with artist collaborating recently.
On 2001 Eminem and Dre had more chemistry the with Snoop, and Hitman was pretty much alone.
-
does Drug Test count? I nominate that song

'Flashy' is by far the worst. The beat is horrible.
agreed!
gtfo outta here bitch niggaz was one of the tighest songs on 2001, i still play it all the time!

i think they both sucked the bullworth soundtrack made for an awkward listen

Definitely this track.

still dre for me.
dunno why never like that track.

Never heard of "Flashy". Does someone care to hook it up?

kush . but i haven´t heard all the songs mentioned here but i don´t know if i want to either
-
still dre for me.
dunno why never like that track.
:o Can't say I've ever heard of anyone who didn't like Still D.R.E.
On The Boulevard for me, so much so that I've completely forgotten what it sounds like.

Wanted to say Chronic & Doggystyle, but as most are saying Kush & Flashy where some pretty wack shit.
-
i don't see how 'flashy' can count considering it's a reference track that dre isn't even rapping on? i saw 'drug test' pop up, that was indeed crappy but a game track. it's definitely worse than 'kush' though.

what u talkin bout? "flashy" leaked...duno if it's a complete version, but it has a dre verse.
http://www.youtube.com/v/ObvDNI6fktQ
"Kush" coulda been a classic if it didn't have Akon. "On the BLVD" was a bangin track. "Zoom" used to be average to me, but listenin to it now, it's a dope ass cut. "Drug Test" doesn't count, cuz it has only a couple lines from Snoop, but it's still weak. "Bitch Niggaz" and "Still Dre" are timeless classics, dunno how anyone can pick these.
Pretty much, "Flashy" should be the undisputed winner.

never heard it, it is indeed crappy. but as a finished track it mighta been ok. the beat is very similar to one of the sir jinx beats on his recent instrumental LPs. i'd still vote for kush, akon singing 'holla at ma niggie' is an all-time low for dre/snoop collabs.
-
Flashy sounds like they were just fuckin around in the studio lol

You know what the shame is, Dre + Snoop have (literally) 100's of instrumentals to rap over, and they chose this?!?
The worst Dre + Snoop song, point blank.

Snoop's verse on "Kush" is a lot better than the other shit he's been doin lately.
-
i don't see how 'flashy' can count considering it's a reference track that dre isn't even rapping on?
Ya I agree. It's not fair to count Flashy in this discussion, or even judge the track at all for that matter since it's not complete.

theres 2 versions of "flashy"....1 is by Bishop Lamont (duno if it's a reference track or not) and the other is the dre+snoop version of the track. duno if the dre+snoop version is the final mix, but it's enough to call it a dre+snoop song.

"Nothing But A 'G' Thing"
I can't think of any right now. Just heard flashy on youtube. Its alright. Are your referring to the explicit version of nothin but a g thang? I preferred the video version[clean], don't like the explicit version.

Snoop's verse on "Kush" is a lot better than the other shit he's been doin lately.
sure, he had dre´s ghost writers on that one . i think akon and the nate dogg imitator ruin the song.

It's funny how many people shitted on "Kush" in this thread, while overrating this track to the extreme when it got first released. Someone should bring that thread back and read the replies of dudes bragging about how incredible this track was back then, how Snoop's verse was his best since the "Last Meal days" and all kinds of other weird stuff - it seems that the users here will never stop to surprise me ::)

Flashy. Kush is still dope.

kush was a good song the video sucked and something about the timing was just off...i seen the club first hand go OFF when that record came out and got played at the right moment.
summer song released in the winter...

lmao @ the Bold.
Kush isn't a banger, and shouldn't of been a single, it's more or less a Filler Track. However I still like it, but I think people Euros hyped it up because it was a Dre/Snoop Collaboration allegedly for Detox, and the pass leaks (if I Remember correctly) weren't sounding like Dre Tracks, they sounded washed out, crappy, and they didn't feature artist from the West. So when this track got released the wigger in em got the better of em, and in Retrospect they finally manage to become men realized it wasn't that great, however when a New track comes out they'll repeat the process all over again. If you look at the various threads on this forum you'll have people talk about "It's a banger" or "This is shit" in the beginning when a track/album is released and then years down the line they say "This wasn't that good actually" or "You know, after a couple of spins this album is a straight banger".
What's sad is these idiot's can't develop a real opinion on the music alone. They either get influenced by the Hype, The artist, What could of been, or putting on the album until they get used to it.
:grumpy:
When I Heard Kush I liked it, wasn't anything special wasn't great, but it was just a good ok track. It may not get as much spins as some of the other tracks in my collection, but it's still a ok record.

i NEVER lost hope in the detox. BEAT IS FUCKIN SICKNING!!!! i have liked all the leaks so far but this one sounds like some ready for radio g shit. above and beyond dre. incredible. never doubted the doc for a second.
"Still I am, tighter than the pants on Will I. Am." Best sounding Snoop in years.
Just couple quotes from a 36-page thread of a Dr. Dre track that wasen't really all that great.. it looks even funnier from a 2-year time perspective, specially when some dudes over here still trying to claim that the biggest D-R-E- groupies live in Europe and are a true definition of a wigger ::)

ok, but i'm here making the same case every time :P i don't think that many people dislike it now, there's just less noise and some strong advocates (me) that it wasn't very good.

Yeah, it did. I've got an untagged version but it skips slightly. I'll up it if no one else does sooner, it's on my laptop and I'm on my phone at the moment.

It's funny how many people shitted on "Kush" in this thread, while overrating this track to the extreme when it got first released.
Well look the thread asks to pick out the worst track from a pair that has put out some of thebest hip hop ever made. Even at their worst, chances are the song will still be somewhat impressive, especially after a drought.

Well, even tho I still think "Kush" was highly overrated and wasen't "the bomb" like some claimed it was - it was still better than "Drug Test", which was an instant classic on the paper but didn't live to the expectations in any form :)

They are both featured on it and the way this track was put out, it could easily be featured on Game, Snoop or Dre's (lol) album :)
-
Kush still sounds like it was meant to fit in with every other radio hit in 2010 or whatever
It's rap but with a commercial snap. Not many producers could've produced something that mainstream without totally losing credibility as hiphop. It's fits somewhere between, did what it set out to do.
It's a 6.5/10 for me. And Snoop still sounds his best in a long long longggg time on it too.
-
drug test, a great example of why i'm glad dre didn't release detox with that direction ( even though it's from game's album)

lol that shit cant be on snoops album.. it don't even have a snoop verse, only a couple lines. it's like saying "let me ride" or "who am i?" is a dre+snoop collabo.

what are u talkin about? "Kush" is a typical Dre sounding beat...it doesnt sound anything like ur average 2010 radio hit, other than the fact that it has Akon on the hook. furthermore, ur killing ur credibility, cuz u were one of the cats who said it was amazing when it came out...i think u gave it like an 8.5/10 back then, and now all of a sudden it's a 6.5/10......LOL
-
yup
but this is still a weak crossover track for dre.
Hardly a weak track. I don't like rating shit on forums as cats all have different ideas on whats hot - it's an 8.5/10 for me though. :D
-
drug test, a great example of why i'm glad dre didn't release detox with that direction ( even though it's from game's album)
Yeah I liked "Drug Test" but I see your point...tracks like "I Need A Doctor" were the low points in Dre's career, imagine Detox would have had more of the same
-
does Drug Test count? I nominate that song
Nah, only their collabos and Dre featuring Snoop or Snoop featuring Dre.
still dre for me.
dunno why never like that track.
Damn. That's one of my favorite songs of all times.
-
I'd Say ''Imagine'' this song is so un-eventful.. its a good song but i dont know didnt feel the chemistry there sounds forced, I actually feel that they lost their chemistry since 2001 dropped, Dre had a better connection with Eminem (in my opinion)

I think i gotta go with "Imagine" too. "On The Blvd" isn't that great either. Jelly Roll always been a hit or miss with his beats.

imagine was fire 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
And best track on that album too
8)
-
still dre for me.
dunno why never like that track.
Damn. That's one of my favorite songs of all times.
fav?!?!?! :o
-
"imagine" is another classic track, duno how it can be labeled anything but great..
-
Its a great track but I don't know I didn't feel the chemistry between the two on this one
-
I don't know , but the fact that they didn't use kam's verse for Snoop (wich was better) killed it for me
i didn't hear the verse kam wrote for snoop but what he and the d.o.c came up wit was the best i've snoop at that point since tha last meal.
-
that kam verse on "imagine" was a reference verse for snoop? i agree, that verse is even doper than the one snoop spit, even though they're both great.

On The Boulevard for me, so much so that I've completely forgotten what it sounds like.
BOM BOM BOM, bombadom, BOM BOM BOM bombadom, BOM BOM BOM bombadom, bee ba bee ba beeda ba daba bee
repeat....
I liked that track, but LMAO.
For me it's Kush even though I didn't think it was that bad, never even heard Flashy or whatever everyone's talking about.
-
We don't even know was that "Flashy" a finished version of the song.

lmfao have a prop
smoking a blunt and this made me chuckle
Word, it's one of the few tracks where you can actually type out the sound of the beat and have it make sense

probably not, but the foundation of it alone is still worse than any other snoop/dre collab

that's not the verse kam wrote.

Theres a Snoop interveiw where he said Dre heard his verse on (I think) That's That Shit and told him it was wack and 2 just rewrite it with the D.O.C. (back when Dre actually gave a damn bout lyrical integrity)
The other version of Imagine probably didn't pass the Dre test..

Yeah I'd have to say Kush was the worst.
The Wash was ok, kinda the sequel to G Thang, albeit with a cheesier tango feel.
Imagine was a dope song, the only version I've ever had to is the one where Kam is rapping Snoops verse. In fact I don't think I've ever heard the official version with Snoop.

You haven't heard "Tha Blue Carpet Treatment"? It's probably Snoop's best album since "Tha Last Meal".

That's a fucking epic verse from Kam. Fuck man, Snoop is a fool for letting one like that go.
Imagine this, Snoop/Dre camp project with lyrics of that quality. Instant classic
-
shits a mini masterpiece
-
lmao

shits a mini masterpiece
Nah classic status goes way beyond your mini masterpiece benchmark

drug test, a great example of why i'm glad dre didn't release detox with that direction ( even though it's from game's album)
Yeah I liked "Drug Test" but I see your point...tracks like "I Need A Doctor" were the low points in Dre's career, imagine Detox would have had more of the same
yeah it was becoming a 'featuring dre' album, no production. also, he sounds awful on most recent features.
some said drug test doesn't count for this, so i'll choose kush instead. nice beat (definitely grew on me a lot since the release), but it's not a good dre & snoop collaboration
imagine shouldn't even be consired for this topic imoTheres a Snoop interveiw where he said Dre heard his verse on (I think) That's That Shit and told him it was wack and 2 just rewrite it with the D.O.C. (back when Dre actually gave a damn bout lyrical integrity)

didn't DOC write "Think About It" as well? Snoop hasn't sounded that good in years...
-
nelly sucks
-
I thought "Bitch Niggaz" was kind of weak. Also that joint on the Wash soundtrack "The Boulevard" was kind of weak for their standards. But the other joint from "The Wash" with Snoop and Dre is a very underrated cut from them.

i can see why you think that, but i think snoop said the producer coached him.
The D.O.C. got credited for only 4 songs as you can see in the credits:

Nope. Haven't listened to a snoop album since last meal. I've listened to random tracks of his since but no albums bought.

Yeah I Remember he Leaked "Grow Up" (which I still play regular) and it was getting a good buzz, and a video was promised however Dr. Dre was pissed because he didn't think the track was fully finished, I Remember they actually said "no way would Dr. Dre release a track that's just a drum loop and strings" (I Remember someone even posting that's what he's been releasing since 2001 in response to that statement).
anyways they put a gag order and the song was removed from Rotation, and Bishop Lamont pretty much wrote his own death warrent after that. I Don't think I ever see another interview were Dr. Dre was talking about him in a positive way or even acknowledging him after that. Bishop FUCKED UP royal. You're getting free production from Dr. Dre, you're working with 1 of the hottest producers in the game, the Connections you'll gain alone are worth listening to his commands.
Oh well. If I remember it wasn't even for Detox it was for "The Reformation".
-
i wonder how many pre-orders were placed for detox?
I dunno but I got a friend whos been a manager for years at HMV and he said the info came from Interscope each time. They really expected it to drop, not just hype

Maybe they just wanted too see how many preorders they got... When they couldn't crack 10k through preorders, they prolly started to panic

Definitely "On The Boulevard" for me, can't stand that beat. I still fuck with "Kush", I've always liked that track.
