Title: Eminem - Beserk (first single from mmlp2)
Post by: AlerG on August 27, 2013, 04:55:10 AM
http://www.dubcnn.com/2013/08/27/eminem-confirms-mmlp2-with-berzerk-single-name-drops-mc-ren-dre-to-exec-produce/

Man I thought this song is extremely busy. They played it 10 times in a row on a Detroit station and sat trying to figure out why they have so much shit going on. Anyway here's the lyrics.

[Verse 1]
Now this shit's about to kick off, this party looks wack
Let's take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch
I'm 'bout to bloody this track up, everybody get back
That's why my pen needs a pad cause my rhymes on the ra-hag
Just like I did with addiction I'm 'bout to kick it
Like a magician, critics I turn to crickets
Got 'em still on the fence ready to pick it
But quick get impaled when I tell 'em stick it
So sick I'm looking pale, well that's my pigment
'bout to go ham, ya bish, shout out to Kendrick
Let's bring it back to that vintage Slim, bitch!
The art of the MCing mixed with da Vinci and MC Ren
And I don't mean Stimpy's friend, bitch
Been public enemy since you thought PE was gym, bitch

[Bridge]
Take your shoes off, let your hair down and (go berserk), all night long
Grow your beard out, just weird out and (go berserk), all night long

[Hook]
We're gonna rock this house until we knock it down
So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So baby make just like K-Fed and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke
So everybody, everybody, (go berserk) shake your body

[Verse 2]
Guess it's just the way that I'm dressed, ain't it?
Khakis pressed, Nike shoes crispy and fresh laced
So I guess it ain't
That aftershave or cologne that made them just faint
Plus I just showed up with a coat fresher than wet paint
So if love is a chess game, check mate
But girl your body's banging, jump me in, bang -- bang, bang
Yessiree Bob I was thinking the same thing
So come get on this kids rock, baw wit da baw, bang bang
P-p-p-pow pow chicka wow wow
Catch a cab, I wanna go down, br-bow-bow
Slow it down, throw in the towel, t-t-towel towel
Dumb it down, I don't know how, how, how, how
At least I know that I don't know
Question is are you bozos smart enough to feel stupid
Hope so, now ho...

[Bridge]

[Hook]
We're gonna rock this house until we knock it down
So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So crank the bass up like crazy and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke
So everybody, everybody, (go berserk) get your vials

[Scratches]

[Verse 3]
They say that love is powerful as cough syrup and Styrofoam
All I know is I fell asleep and woke up in that Monte Carlo
With the ugly Kardashian
Lamar, oh sorry yo, we done both set the bar low
Bars hard, drugs hard thought that's the past
But I done did enough codeine to knock Future into tomorrow
And girl I ain't got no money to borrow
But I am tryin' to find a way to get you alone, car note!
Oh, Marshall Mathers shouldn’t everybody know
Get the bar soap lathered, came ghost and called Arthur’s Cargo's
Girl you’re fixin' to get your heart broke, don’t be absurd man
You bird brained baby I ain’t called anybody baby since Birdman
Unless you’re a swallow
Word, w-word man you heard, but don’t be discouraged girl
This is your jam, unless you got toe jam

[Bridge] + [Hook]

yea, definitely too much shit goin on...and for the first track to leak from an album entitled "MMLP2", it's disappointing. you'd expect Slim Shady back on the mic, rippin shit like it was 2000 again......but this aint bad. he got on his beastie boys shit and it beats the shit on "recovery".....but still a let down if this is the overall sound of "MMLP2 as opposed to just a single type track.

If they would've chilled out all the side effects and noises this song would've been more effective. It just feels like it doesn't build momentum because I'm constantly thrown off by everything g going on.

This is terrible. It's got a douchey rap metal vibe to it. This will be huge with 17 year old boys who still havent got any pussy and drive around bashing mail boxes stuck on tough guy mode.

Eww just no.

The old school beat would've been dope had they kept it simple but there's too much going on.

Plus I hate the idea of him going back to joke singles. After Recovery I thought he'd grew from that shit.

I thought the success of Kendrick, Cole and others would have inspired him to put out something relevant without having to have Skylar gray on every track or resort to some pop anthem.

Unfortunately not the case for this track. It is unlistenable an some points.

Here's hoping this is the only track like this on the album.

I am glad he is not yelling anymore though.

Agreed. Songs not bad, if they scaled back and kept beat simple ..... song would be sweet.

Wow that was horrible. I just remembered why I haven't bought an Em cd since TES.

Yelling wack lyrics with subtle pop culture references and no flow.

Beat sucked too.

Em will never go back to the artist he used to be, he's not allowed to.

Nice post.  And you can actually set new trends even by sampling elements from old sounds... it's happened so many times in hip-hop, but we can just start with the obvious of Dr. Dre using George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelics.

It's similar to Snoop causing a new sensation with "Who AM I (What's My Name)" and it was actually a knock-off of "Atomic Dogg".. but bottom line was it was the NEW SHIT, and it was a new trend, and it was bangin, and it was HUGE!

What did you expect.. for him to come out with.. "When I was just a baby boy/ My mama used to tell me these crazy things!!"..

...I mean that would be too obvious.  Don't take the MMLP title to literally.  Eventually he will get asked "why the title" in an interview, and I already know what he's gonna say.  He's gonna say that he hasn't felt this good about a new sound he's had or making music since the MMLP.

naah, i expected slim shady style raps...this is somethin completely different. not sayin it'll be bad, but just different than what i thought it would be, especially with it bein marketed as a dre production and all.

eminem should just release his late 1990s unreleased songs...i'm sure he's sitting on a good 1-2 dozen songs that haven't leaked and were left off his albums.

i'd love to cop those.

doesn't matter, Em can release it if he wants.  All he's gotta do is tell Jimmy and it gets released and probably brings in a mill or two in sales.

lol.. that would be funny if he released old cuts and played them off like they were new...

But "Bezerk" is a whole new world, and thus can finally get Eminem away from having to compete with his classics.

I thought it said "EXECUTIVE producers" ...you know Dre will always executive produce.  I mean he only did 3 tracks on the Eminem Show but he was still the Executive Producer.  The albums on Aftermath and Em loves Dre so much he probably would give him half or more of the money from the album even if Dre didn't do one track on it.

Yea but u get what I'm sayin.. The promo came on a Beats by Dre commercial, proclaiming MMLP2 coming soon, executive produced by Dr Dre.. It felt to me like were in for a new Slim Shady record. its like having Doggystyle 2 exec produced by Dre, ur gunna expect a certain sound based on how it's promoted... This is not bad, just reminds me to expect the unexpected.

that song is actually pretty dope.. but ii havent truly felt tech n9ne's work in some time...he comes with a dope cut here and there, but his overall sound has become way too generic compared to his earlier work.

i bought a tech nine album waaaay back before he blew up he was mainly known at this time for his song on the crime related soundtrack and for some reason i thought this guy was under qd3s wing i was expecting these rapd fire lyrics over smooth ass production...not what i got.

the album had a super dark feel and honestly i liked it but it grew on me. i wish i could remember the name of it. calm before the storm or some shit maybe...anyways that was a limited edition hard to find album at one point.

i liked him better before i knew of the wierd shit...when i was hearing him on songs like yuks stallions w mc ren etc.

tech n9ne is one of the GOATs as far as straight rhyme spitters, seriously...his combination of flow, lyricism, harmonizing, mic presence, rhyming mechanics etc. is unmatched by any emcee....as far as the music he makes, it ranges greatly. he has that smooth shit ("rellish", "the worst", "fucked up day", "cloudy eyed stroll", "celcius", "get blowed", "questions", "spend the night", "i didnt lie", "seven words", "twisted", "all i want", "call girlz", "kjomd"), catchy gangsta shit ("mitch bade", "cotton soldier", "breathe", "he wanna be paid", "og", "now it's on", "be warned", "yada yada yada", "strange music box", "bboy"), club/single shit ("who u came to see", "im a playa" "planet rock 2k", "the rain", "no can do", "BITCH", "fragile" "jellysickle" "low", "leave me alone", "devil boy","cariboulou", "strange", "00n9na" "slacker", "come gangsta", "crybaby", "delusional", "blackboy", "harvey dent", "pillow talkin"), dark horrocore shit ("they're all gunna laugh at you", "paint a dark picture", "demons", "killer", "she devil", "blackened the sun", "killing you", "KOD, "pinnochio", "shadows on the road", "hope for a higher power", "should i killer"), signature weird/strange shit ("einstein", "psycho bitch", "it's alive", "t9x", "unfair", "mental giant", "here comes tecca n9na", "imma tell", "the grench", "im not a saint", "victory", "sinister tech"), lyrical/theme/story-tellin shit ("real killer", "pop the trunk", "suicide letters", "slither", "trapped in a psychos body", "why u aint call me", "happy ending", "industry is punks", "i love you but fuck you", "mama nem", "one good time" "welcome to the midwest", "worst enemy", "my wife my bitch my girl", "midwest choppas", "it was an accident", "the martini"), ...i basically just named all the essentials. im not even gunna mention the rock stuff he does, cuz thats not my style, but he has some good ones in that category, as well. but seriously, if theres one artist no one should sleep on, it's tech n9ne...contrary to popular belief, he's got something for every1...and based on whats ur shit, i'd suggest any1 who reads this to burn a mix of any of those categories with the songs i just listed and thank me later.

I was bumping this in my car today and it was sounding pretty good.  I dont like judging music when I first hear it on my computer speakers.  But yeah, it sounded pretty good in the whip.

i wouldnt co-sign tech so hard if he wasnt as great as he is

he has his share of music that i dont fuck with...but he has some true classics in his catalogue. some of his shit is the deepest, most thought provoking shit in rap.

it's cool that he's giving props, but the song sounds annoying to me.

what a stupid idea to call the new album MMLP2, it's not like it's going to give a huge sales boost.

It's funny how people already have an opinion of this album and how it compares to MMLP. I'm pretty sure it compares favorably if Eminem chose to call it MMLP2.

Unless it's pure marketing hubris. But I think that's unlikely at this stage of Eminem's career.

that's what happens when you announce such a sequel.
i think he's not good enough anymore to make a proper followup. i'm not dismissing the whole album yet.

the album title does seem like a marketing gimmick to me at this point, especially since eminem painted his hair again
