Title: August 1996', the last great month in rap music, Infinite takes you back

This was the last month that 2pac would live from beggining to end.   At the time 2pac was on top and running shit but so was Snoop.  Snoop had yet to fail on any song or album so he was nearly just as large as Pac.  "How Do You Want It" was blowing up, they had just ran the version with all the porn stars and now MTV was runnin the alternate version with Pac on stage.

The Dogg Pound was still performin New York New York at MTV's Beach House.   The MTV Music Awards were around the corner.  Jodeci released their last big time single "Get On Up" which featured an ill remix of "Freekin You" on the B Side with Wu-tang.

Crucial Conflict released their album under the guidance of Fab Five Freddy and they were set to blow up with an all new rodeo style that mixed the ghetto with the country life.  Shit was so dope.

Outkast went really conscious with the release of ATLiens, they were on a whole nother level that hadn't been touched yet as far as where their minds were at and the shit they were talkin...

In R&B shit was on and poppin with Genuine blowin up with "Pony" and that was the birth of Timberland cause at the same time Aliyah was set to blow with "If Your Girl Only Knew"

Suge was grabbin the cover of the Source, and he was pretty much runnin the fuckin industry on some boss shit.

Dre was droppin "East Coast West Coast Killaz" unitin wit scarface and nas and krs for the video bringin together all coasts.  An infectious hook on one of the most important tracks callin for an end to beefin and gangsta rap.

Grant Hills Filas were blowin up, the Bulls had won the championship, dennis had his own show on MTV

Reminiscing is cool, 96 was a good year and also a really tough one for me.

Memories are great, but don't live thru the past. Embrace the here and now and the future without fear.

If you are true in your faith you fear nothing.

You can walk and chew gum at the same time.  Remembering the past doesn't prevent you from facing the future.  Our history shapes our present perception of ourselves.  Our past reminds us who we are and who we want to be in life.  It actually serves to makes us more grounded and inspired in facing the future.

I'm not a Christian, but it's a good example to say that many of them derive so much inspiration from past events, yet it doesn't prevent them from moving forward in the future.
