This shit should be on Tosh.0 its so terrible. Seattle already has fuckass rappers (except nacho) and you're just continuing that reputation.

Judging by the video he has I'd say he's not a Macklemore fan. Personally, I've met dude a few times and he's always been cool and down to earth, so I'm happy that he's been able to be successful. Never been a big fan of his music though. Lol and nothing but respect for Mix A Lot but his time came and went a while ago. It's not like people here in the NW are clamoring for new material from him like Dubcc does with Kurupt or something. I disagree with J in the sense that Seattle does have some good rappers, but nobody's really made much noise on the mainstream level outside of those two.

Look I respect the fuck outta Macklemore for going platinum as an independent rapper. That deserves props, and I'm sure he's a nice enough guy, but I can't fuck with his music.

As for Mix, I still got SWASS on cassette, shit's funny and lighthearted but doesn't have much back to back replay value.

As for other contemporary Seattle rappers, I fux w/:

I just cant get it to a lot of the conscious stuff from here because it lacks balls, and I like my shit with grit to it. I can get down with The Coup or Common, but the conscious rappers here just seem too vanilla. Seattle, musically, as a region just doesn't have that hood vibe, despite it's numerous gang and drug issues.

I do recommend this tape though:

"Town Biz" by Jake One. If you don't already have that get it, it's a mix of Seattle rap from the early nineties through recently. Great snapshot of the small scene here.
