Just update for y'all, I got my Visa successfully!  ;D ;D
So after chatting with a few fds plus some folks here, and my plans come as follow

1 month including Seattle, San Fransisco, Las Vegas, Long Beach
And I insist on visiting Nate Dogg Grave because his songs (and the G-Funk culture) mean a lot to me!
Is it possible to visit Detroit (I know it's a bit boring and 'dead' now) and Compton (a city with chaos and gunfire) also?
Is there any great concert in those places during that time?

I haven't booked any hostel and airplane yet, please free to suggest on my routine! Much thanks

if youre still talking 2500 bucks for a whole month youre not gonna want to fly to detroit. theres nothing to see in compton except street signs youve heard in rap songs and vegas is gonna be a huge chunk of your budget

Yes, still taking 2500 bucks for a whole month. Now my plan: Seattle+San Fransisco+Las Vegas+LA (Long Beach, Compton, San Diego) for 2 weeks (Detroit excluded), then a Greyhound line to my aunt's house in NY and spend rest of my time there (and spend less!).

Just wondering when I am in LA, is it possible to spend one day or two to visit Nate Dogg Grave + Compton? (Seriously, I don't mind taking photos with street signs, cause it's my childhood dream 8) )

You're damn right for Vegas, so I will live in Hostel Cat which only costs $12 a day, and try not to over-budget with buffets and shows

Great!!! Not sure days because it looks far on Google map. If so I probably spend half day for that
You cant imagine how exciting it is to fulfill my childhood dream  :D :D

lol, who the hell visits compton. but i can kind of see how foreigners would like to take pictures of street signs, since its out on black gangsta movies and gangsta rap all the time. but i dont think anyone in the US unless your an extreme wigger wanksta would do that.

again, i wouldnt suggest going to compton and dont stay there after dark, and all those whores on long beach blvd are prostitutes. id suggest u go to the tourists spots like sunset, santa monica, redondho, old town pasadena, downtown (la downtown isnt great but you can go bar hopping there), Beverly hills, shopping on rodeo (i assume you have money to shop there considering your chinese and your traveling) oh yea of course korea town. you can hit SD and SF or TJ if you want.

lol stayin at a hostel, so chinese (not being racist). i only been to one hostel, and it was by accident and it was ran by chinese as well and it was in NYC, shits horrible and dirty, i would not recommend it and if its 12 dollars a night? be prepared to hear whores get fucked on the regular, dirty bathrooms, and crackheads. but im pretty sure u wouldnt be sleeping too much anyways and ull be on the strip.

and how did you get your visa? even for a hongkongese  you would need money or some connections to get it.

yeah bro, do not stay in compton after dark, you might think its not real since china is relatively safe and there isnt too much crime there especially in cities in hongkong. but you will get robbed, its not the matter of fact of if, its when. you'll stick out. oh yeah so dont take all your money with you when you go to these areas.

Haha, you make a good point why I want to take street sign in Compton, like people take photos with Bruce Lee statue in HK.

Thanks for your advice, I will visit tourists spots and spend only 1 afternoon (and definitely not after dark) in Compton and 1 morning for Nate Dogg's grave. Will also take min. money when going out to these areas.  A year ago I traveled in Spain/Portugal and I never went out at night too. (btw Hong Kong is so safe)   :)

For the hostel part, I hear good reputation on Hostel Cat, but not sure for other hostels yet. Will try to live in YMCA hostels but not "whores get fucked on the regular, dirty bathrooms, and crackheads" hostel

LOL at that VISA...it's not hard for hongkongese to get it.
Just need proof that you will back to HK (US afraid of illegal immigrant) and $160 USD application fee.

Ya, China citizen is hard to get VISA due to their own authority (long waiting, harsh requirement, complicated procedures...etc)
and HK/Macau has Visa-free in 152 countries while China only got 18 (and 14 in Africa). So much better to be a HongKonger  8)

I’m not going to lie and say I haven’t done most of what you’re looking to do on the West Coast (i.e. Hood Tours). But then again I live there, so I’ve had plenty of time to do everything else better first.

To pay money and spend your first trip in the US in a bunch neighborhood referenced in Hip Hop song is just a complete waste of your time and money. The West Coast has way too much more to offer then Compton and Nate Dogg/Eazy-E’s grave. If you’ve done most of So Cal already, then I’d say go for it. But seriously man, save your money for a real vacation.

Also I’ll throw in, don’t listen the horror stories. Most of these people (not all, don’t nobody go and catch feelings) have never set foot in LA, Compton, Long Beach, ect… These neighborhoods aren’t that bad. No worse than any other big city. You only have to worry if you're a fucking idiot mouthing off. But that can be said for the safest cities too.

You should hit Seattle on the rebound July 25-27 and catch the Capitol Hill Block Party.

http://capitolhillblockparty.com/ (http://capitolhillblockparty.com/)

Amazing shows in the middle of one of the livest neighborhoods in Seattle. Like literally on a street corner, not some existing venue. The neighborhood has some of the best bars on the west coast and the people are really chill. Plus weed is legal. Just dodge the trannies.

Yeah, Seattle is a great city. Whenever I'm up there for work, we end up going out around Capitol Hill. A friend of mine loves "Unicorn".  Personally I think it’s because she likes the claw machine with dildos, LOL.

of course theyre not like menace 2 society but just because youve been through there a couple times without any problems doesnt mean theyre not that bad of neighborhoods. drugs and unemployment are high and if you look like a victim theres a chance someone will do something to you

You can keep that lame you've only been through a couple times bs to yourself, I don’t know you. I'm giving the kid a real response to his questions. Like I said, as long as you’re not an idiot you'll be fine. You put yourself in a bad spot, bad things can and will happen. All cities have bad neighborhoods with drugs and high unemployment. It’s just Compton was glorified, so people think it’s worse than it is.

Thanks man! I will only spend a morning for Nate and Compton street sign.  :P
Mainly will enjoy tourist spots in West Coast like Universal Studio/Grand Canyon/Yosemite National Park..etc
What does it mean "look like a victim"? Like small and weak Chinese? Or carrying a backpacker and look confused?

But that can be said for the safest cities too.

of course theyre not like menace 2 society but just because youve been through there a couple times without any problems doesnt mean theyre not that bad of neighborhoods. drugs and unemployment are high and if you look like a victim theres a chance someone will do something to you

It’s just Compton was glorified, so people think it’s worse than it is.

already tried telling dude to not waste time going to these pointless places. lol, DPG all of them were my childhood favorites, but nothing compelled me to go to nate doggs grave, not even when im in long beach, if it was a block away or across the street then yeah.

otherwise no. lol. so many dope places you can go, unique bars/lounges in santa monica and hollywood, the pier, old town pasadena, couple places in downtown, nightlife in koreatown, venice, sunset. all the tourists spots and plus all the local spots we only know about.

i mean there so much you can take advantage of since theres a bunch of us LA heads here. instead, you want to see bullshit. to each their own, but come on, its a waste of complete time, nothing is going to WOW you. up in compton

but i do say in compton is usually the only places where i would find grey houseshoes

oh yeah, well since ur going to be in compton anyways go to bludsoes BBQ (they have another off branch in west hollywood, which is restaurant style and much nicer). Avoid any type of tams burger, and hey try church's chicken, cajun style.

yeah just dont stay out there after dark, i personally dont know how bad it is in compton per say, i was only there at night when i was leaving a customer's place. i just see a shit load of diseased infested whores along longbeach blvd (its kinda like sepulveda in the valley, a row of motels and whores)

but  from my experience in canoga, pacoima, and van nuys, and which im sure its similar to compton and such, just dont be there after dark, whether its crackheads or armed adolescents you dont want to be in that predicament.
