I thought I'd have to make this thread now, because Tha Eastsidaz are still one of the dopest rap duos ever. And since they are now back together and already dropped a mixtape (and of course their album is planned) i figured it would be a good time for a discussion thread about Big Tray Deee & Mr. Goldie Loc....
So what y'all think of them ? How do you like the first 2 eastsidaz albums ? Do you anticipate the new one ? What about their Mixtape ?

Their 1st album is a personal classic to me. Goldie got some good solo song and album. Tray deees comp is sight, and i liked his new mixtapes too.
-
Their 1st album is indeed a classic. Great production, and Goldie & Tray Deee rip every damn song on it. Snoop is also dope as hell on this, same goes for the guest appearances.
-
Tray Deee is one of the most underrated dope MCs ever...dude has never dropped a wack verse...together with a hungry Goldie Loc and Snoop who was in a zone in '99 they dropped a classic indeed with their first album...had some of the great production as well from Battlecat, Meech etc.
on a side note the original group had Snoop, Lil C-Style and Technique... another pretty good lineup
-

I think it then changed to Snoop, Tray Deee and Daz Dillinger.

I always loved their first 2 albums and I remember paying really too much for them back in the days but well it was worth it now that I think about it.
It's too bad their 3rd album never came out and also can someone explain why? I probably read this somewhere back then but can't remember exactly if it was a deal problem with TVT or a problem with Snoop?

haha 183 francs à la fnac for their debut album
the first album is a classic, the second has incredible songs but a lot of fillers and some duds. They had good chemistry.
GangBang Muzicc / Vice Versa also had its share of dope songs, too bad it didn't drop
-
how was their new mixtape?

dope for a mixtape.

The third album is right up there with the first two, in my opinion. Pretty amazing to have such a consistent quality across all their albums. I'm pretty sure the next one will hold to that same standard

someone needs to release that one

how bout goldie locs solo joints? there are at least 6 of em, right?
(Tha After party, bizzness never personal, Still Eastsidin', Loc'd Out, B.G. 2 O.G., Eastsideridaz)
do you like em?
and the free tray deee vol 1. mixtape(?), compilaton(?) bootleg(?)
-
The first album is a classic, the second one was great, but not as good as the first one. The new mixtape was dope as fuck too. A lot of unreleased classics on it and the new songs were good too. I wish they would've released it untagged though. I hope they're mostly just workin' with Battlecat on the new album. I hope Meech Wells is also involved in the project. I think they said they were gonna get a beat from DJ Mustard when they were on GNN, i hope that works out. He's a dope producer in my opinion.

The original group was Snoop, Daz and Tray Deee, this was confirmed by Tray Deee when he was on Snoop's GNN. The second lineup was Lil C-Style, Techniec & Crooked I.

Still one of my favorite groups, too bad it didn't work out with IV Life Records back in the days, they made some cool stuff together. I'm not really into Goldie Locs solo stuff, he has some very cool tracks, but most of the beats aren't my cup of tea. The track with that Billy Jean beat is a classic though...

Can you post that song pls ? ;D

I Pray to god that snoop doesn't feature more than 3 songs on the new eastsidaz album. He will ruin it and make it cheesy as fuck.
-
^i disagree .. snoop usually comes g when hes rappin wit the eastsidaz. he brings his a-game and id be disappointed if he wasnt on at least half the album

Was the "Doggystyle" porn movie released with a bonus CD?
-

Nope neither doggystyle 1 or 2 porn.
-
I guess Goldie Loc's "Let's Roll" never came out in CDQ. It should've been on the "That's My Work" mixtape.
-

i remember gettin that shit on vhs when it first came out....a couple unreleased gems on there, if i remember correctly
-
Only two pages bout the group?
-
Yeah in order to get a lil discussion in here, what did y'all think of that new eastsidaz mixtape (TM4) ?
Do they still have got that chemistry ? Did you like the new music ?
-
"pay day" i love. Fredwreck laced a dope beat and Snoop delivers a laid back hook. Tha Eastsidaz have always had a dope line-up on their LPs (rappers and producers). Concerning the new songs on TMW4, all ain't that great but "pay day" i love... and it might be an old track and an old Fredwreck production. Is he still around the West Coast scene?
-
Hope so, fred is dope. Especially when hes working with snoop & the dpg camp
-

there are a few personal classics for me in doggystyle 1 and 2.."let's roll" and "break these ho'z" are so dope, i really hope to get them in cdq one day...i also liked the ending track on doggystyle 2 with daz and lt hutton on it 8)

You know the name of that track with Daz & LT ?
-
Eastsidaz still GOT IT...
Fans of old will love the new stuff, as the mixtape was banging.
Tray Deee has never come incorrect on a song, and didnt do a Shyne whilst locked down and come back sounding like rubbish.
Lookin forward to big things from the ES.

New tracks bangin. They all good.. My favourite jam is "Can't Trust Em"

Can't Trust Em & Pay Day were the dopest tracks for me but I'll give the tape a re listen now 8)

Anyone here got some of the "Gang Bang Muzic" promos/advances that were floating around back then ?

Today is the 15th anniversary of their 1st album.

-
Nutin new info.
Like the tray deee solo.
-
Dee was talking about Conyiac solo in one of first interviews after release. But it was only one time when he mentioned about her. Someone should ask them bout situation.
-

-
Their new album comin soon. I mean this year.

That's gotta be the Black June EP. It's been in the works for ages, but Coniyac recently got asked about it and said it might be coming out in due time. No set release date though

Yeah that first album was really a quality album from top to bottom.... I mean, I've been a tray dee fan since his debut on murder was the case and always thought his wise-og style was one of the illest in the game, and on a personal level I got respect for him, got to see him live as far back as 97' wit snoop at lollapalooza
So when snoop stopped doin bullshit wit P and went back west with top dogg, eastsidaz was a great follow up to that....
"Now we lay um down" is a classic joint to open the album and the album finishes strong with snoops sentimental solo joint at the end....I think trays solo joint trumps goldies solo on the album
Their second album was pretty solid as well
...by the way my son is a big. Eastidaz fan, he always wants me to play those two albums along with the snoop lion album
