Looking forward to Mayer's new project. Thanks for this thread, didn't know about it beforehand. 8) Actually, I don't want to hear any of the tracks yet and want to experience them all at once - knowing 2 out of 10 tracks already kinda kills the anticipation for me. But great hearing the positive feedback.
Did you guys check out the Jaded Incorporated (Mayer Hawthorne & 14KT) project from 2014? Didn't hear about it until last week and didn't have a chance to listen to it yet.

so after some spinning, this album is pretty short but plenty FUNKY!
lots of jams of all kinds of flavours and tempos, dope production painting pictures throughout. great vibes.
wait till you guys hear this last track 'out of pocket'! 8)
he also picked some great singles, 'love like that' and 'lingerie & candlewax' are other standouts.
book of broken hearts - dat west coast style bassline, think zapp & roger 8)

this albums waaaaay better to me then the jake one project.
the jake one project made me appreciate where does this door go so much more.
this albums real cool. in the beginning its kind of a challenging listen then he eases you into more classic traditional sounding shit. this is something jazz musicians did in their album sequencing alot back in the day to break in new sounds to old fans. the album gets better as it goes on as i think a good album should. id give it 3.5 out of five stars
strange arrangement is my personal classic from him.

i think anyone who liked where does this door go is going to be feeling this, there are a lot of similarities. but the sound is more funked up and lively, it's got this tropical marvin gaye thing going on, very vibrant 8)

me neither. but it's not new to me. not a big fan of Mayer Hawther. Although i love his "Stay" cover and his "Impressions Covers EP" (click (http://www.stonesthrow.com/news/2011/05/mayer-hawthorne-impressions-covers-ep)).
only "Out of Pocket" i'm really digging on that new LP.

my favorite Mayer Hawthorne album for now. dude still is corny in some ways but talented too. lots of dope sounds on this album.
had to disagree with petey though, I prefer the Tuxedo album

nice, checked but nothing coming up in the UK. that's just a DJ set and not part of the 'Man About Town' tour tho.
likely have to wait for another Tuxedo European tour to roll around next year. and even then the UK gig would likely suck so will go elsewhere again.
