Phil made a comment about Lebron needing to hang out with his "posse"
would Phil have said the same about Pau Gasol and his Spanish friends in the same situation?
-
Posse isn't a racist word. It's origins are from the western days when the sheriff would round up a crew to enforce the law.

Lebron's saying whatever he can to not look like a fool.

this ain't the 1860s man. This was first put out by Maverick Carter and then Lebron responded...Carmelo himself agreed with Lebron over his boss Phil.
Media sweeping it under the rug and it'll go away but Phil should apologize
-
I don't think Phil meant it as a racist term. I work in higher ed, and one of the programs that we work with is called Posse. The word has been used for so long it has so many meanings. But whatever. LeBron is just trying to rattle Phil Jackson the same way Phil is trying to rattle him.

It's not racist. That was the media being the media & causing problems. But it was certainly a demeaning was to describe the brand LeBron & Maverick have built.

Why should he apologize? It's not a racist word. It wasn't in the 1860s and it isn't now. Its origins weren't in racism and its current uses aren't in racist contexts. Move along, put the race card back in the deck.

I'd agree, 'Melo's mental game is weak and it's hurt his career. He had the talent to win many titles, but instead he will be known as second to LeBron.
