It depends what you mean by 'failed.' The majority of the names you list may not have been as commercially successful as more mainstream artists, but are still highly respected in the rap community. Daz Dillinger is seen as a legend on this forum (by most), and the same can be said of Crooked I.
Ja Rule does not belong on the list at all because he had a ton of hits and successful albums. Obie Trice also is not a one-hit wonder.
-
I have to agree with most of your list if we're talkin' about artists that actually had big hit songs.
Chingy had "Right Thurr" and "Holidae Inn" though. They were both popular. Cam'ron and Jim Jones had some hits too.

Spider Loc
Crookey I
Stat Quo
Papoose
Outlawz (as solo artists)
the only ones that potentially fit the thread title, everybody else is either still relevant now or have plaques/hit records

Ja Rule had numerous hits and multiplatinum albums...the one artist that comes to mind and had huge potential was Canibus
-
Proof
Big syke
Saafir

Technically most of rappers in general are failed solo artists since they never even get to the spotlights and stardom.
Bishop Lamont comes to mind however
Each member of Living Legends excluding Murs
Coniyac, which is sad really. She's been promising an album for 4-5 years, but is now resorting to autotune rapping on Tray Dee tracks...
OT Genasis but that guy was trash from the jump
Asher Roth
40 Glocc :tupachappy:

Ja Rule? His first 4 albums went platinum, 1 of which went 3x platinum and another went 4x. He was one of the biggest selling artist of the 2000's...far from failed.
-
Most artists named here have gone platinum on multiple occasions or are still signed to major labels, can't call that fails/one hit wonders. All of them are still comon names in hiphop ('cept for Chingy).
Prophet of Nappy Roots comes to mind, he was always one of my fav. members of Nappy Roots but then he left the group to go solo and kinda disappeared from everyones radar.
-
Everyone on your list is probably eating off music except a few. And even those probably still get some nice checks from having written on some big tracks (stat quo, bad azz.) Spider Loc and Papoose I don't really know. Both were kind of mixtape rappers.
