Confirmed by Boss Hogg himself (talked to him today about the record):
"That's all Barney. Interestingly enough though, I think people would be amazed at how much Dre trusted Barney's production and mixing that they'd be a little surprised to know how much of Barney's Handy work showed up in The Rows material back then, The Chronic included."

I wouldn't say its dissimilar, I guess he makes it slightly deeper when he's recording.
