Yes he is a down south hiphop legend but when its all said and done will his name be along
side 2pac,biggie eminem,rakim,jay-z ,nas and so on i have a poll on my site

can't deny he was one of the better new generation rappers of the South during the mid - late 2000s but he didn't maintain enough relevancy or be musically consistent enough to match the likes of say Jeezy or Ross to be considered a legend, but he did kinda help pave the way for them at the same time

As for the poll, for me he was poppin' from like '03-'10. Never really came off like he dominated the genre, just a very respected man in the industry & put out consistent work.
I wouldn't put him in my top 20-25 rappers lol.

He had a couple of good songs here and there on various projects throughout the last decade, but that's about it. Especially after he did a verse on that Robin Thicke garbage I can't even listen to the guy anymore with any respect

Budden on his podcast recently tried to rank rappers all-time with some people. After hearing the names they dropped, which felt like just the tip of the Hip Hop iceberg, yeah maybe #50. Maybe lol.

maybe a Southern legend but I wouldn't consider him a Legend. He had every opportunity to become one but it seems the popularity and stardom went to his head and messed it up.
