LOS ANGELES — If Method Man wants his part as Snoop Dogg's best friend in "Soul Plane" to be believable, he might want to start saying kinder things about him to the media.
"Honestly, I think he's one of the worst rap actors in the game right now. There's a bunch of us and he's one of the worst ones," Meth said backstage at Saturday's taping of the MTV Movie Awards. "And Snoops knows that, but Snoop's a hustler. He's gonna keep his face out there."
Method Man did note that he's never worked with Snoop — who's appeared in "Training Day," "The Wash" and "Bones," among other flicks — and said he may change his mind after shooting the "Airplane!" remake. He also complimented the D-O-Double G's appeal.
"He's a personality," Meth said. "He's like ODB. Even though he keeps f---ing up, there's somebody out there who wants to see him."
"Soul Plane," which finds Snoop playing a pilot, will begin filming this summer under the direction of Jessy Terrero, best known for his music videos, including 50 Cent's "Wanksta" (see "Snoop Dogg, Method Man Get Onboard 'Airplane!' Remake").
Method Man had some concerns about the script ("Too many stereotypes going on in there"), but he took a small part because he liked the story. "It's basically about a guy who gets into an accident on an airplane and he sues and comes into a lot of money, so he decides to start his own," he explained.
After "Soul Plane," Meth has several starring roles lined up, all buddy movies with his partner-in-rhyme, Redman. The first will either be a remake of the Japanese comedy "Jailbreakers," with the duo playing inmates who break out of jail only to find they've already been pardoned (see "Red And Meth To Break Out Of 'Jail' "), or one tentatively titled "DEA."
"Me and Redman get into some trouble and caught up with the DEA and they use us as pawns to find this big drug dealer," the rapper said of the latter, before pointing out his concern with the movie. "It's going to be PG-13, though. Why?"
Other Method Man projects in the works include his third solo album, Tical 0: The Prequel, due in September (see "Method Man Has His Eyes Set On Tamyra Gray "), and a documentary on exotic dancing due around the same time on DVD (see "Method Man: From Fronts To Furs").

I agree with Meth 100%. Snoop is not a good actor. And who cares if Method Man said that, it's just critisizm. Snoop's role in "Baby Boy" was funny as hell to me tho. He was trying to act real hard on being this serious bad guy but it just wasn't workin for him.

I agree with meth, but I think he is kinda jealous because snoop is getting so much movie roles offered to him. Honestly Snoop has a better career than Method Man so i don't know what he is talking about. Method only had one good album. Snoop worked with Ben Stiller,Denzel Washington etc. Don't be surprised if Snoop does a better job than him in the movie.

BTW, IMO Snoop was and is STILL better than Method Man...6 Albums deep, 2 soon to be 3 Eastsidaz albums, soon to be a 213 album and many more...Plus look at all the people Snoop put up on game and Hes been riding shotgun with Dre on 3 classic albums (Chronic, Doggystyle, 2001)....
Compared to 2 albums from Method Man (One Classic, and the other one crap) and a Method Man and Redman album that was dope....
Snoops wayyyy better than Method Man and has had a much better career and it will continue to be that way with 213, Eastsidaz ect and so on.....

what the hell is so hard to understand about that? snoop has never been an amazing lyricist and with that laid back flow it doesn't help his mic presence at all. its not like i just made this shit up. its apparent in their music. no one has disagreed with me about the previous categories so i don't see how snoop can be better. not to mention meth was still spitting fire after tical on all his guest appearances and even up to the last album with redman while snoop steadily declined.
making albums and bringing other rappers into the business have nothing to do with skills so i'm not touching on that subject. snoop might be a bigger icon but better rapper? hell no.
