Title: Good songs that you can't listen to anymore
Post by: _That_Cracka_J on June 11, 2003, 05:39:31 PM
Think of some tight songs, that you have heard SO MUCH, that you can't listen to it ever again.  Of course I've heard "Nuthin' but a g thang", "It was a good day", "Real muthaphuckin' G's", etc. etc.....There is one song off the top of my head that I heard so much that I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to it again....

Dr. Dre/Eminem - Forgot about Dre

I just take a break for a couple of months and I can listen to songs I've played the fuck out of again. I never get completely bored of songs.

i can't really think of nuthin' but i know 1 thing, i've been bangin' snoop's "What's My Name" since 93, since it dropped as a single n i used 2 have the cassette single n i'd play it over and over again all day and night cuz it was like the only tight shit i had... anyway i still bump it today all the time... that whole album, i dunno it just never gets played out, same with warren g's "Regulate", Twinz "Conversation", all that classic g-funk shit... 2Pac's shit never gets played out either but i can't really listen 2 "Cali Love" nomore or "How Do U Want It"... i dunno, heard em 2 much... but really any death row shit made from 92-96 i never get sick of, M.O.P's "Warriorz" & "First Family 4 Life" i never get sick of hearin'... it's funny i could bang some shit for months n as soon as it becomes a single on tv n the radios i get sick of it eventhou mostly all the shit i bump is all underground...

I love tha song's...just way played out on my ish!!!
I find myself skippin' through them recently:

Dr Dre "Sill D.R.E."
Tha Dogg pound (feat Crooked I) "Gangsta rap"
Tha Luniz (feat Crooked I) "Girl"
Eminem (feat Snoop Dogg, Xzibit & Dre) "Bitch please 2"
N.W.A. (feat Snoop Dogg) "Chin check"
N.W.A. "Hello"

I killed them...(the way the radio did "In da club")

"Nuthin But a G Thang"

A good song, but after a decade it wears a little thin.  When little 6yr old Toby starts to sing it, it's time to turn it off.

This year I noticed that many songs that I got tired of 7-10 years ago, I can listen to now as if they are new, but I jus get tired of em quicker since they are still in my system from then.

Most great shit I used to listen to all the time, I can still listen to...the only shit I can't listen to are those songs that were good but they played em so much u got sick of em, like a grip of Eminem's songs, some Jay-Z songs. But even tho  In the club is the most played out song in history, when I hear it "in the club" it still bumps, it just doesn't get the same reaction...but that new version with the jay-z and ice cube samples "its the anthem get ya damn hands up" and "Homeboys show me love up in the club" it makes it sound better.

I can't listen to 50 Cent Pimp, 21 questions, many men, unless I am forced to.

this gets literately played 100 times a day.  the 2 hip hop statoins here in SD have them as their starting songs every time they come back from a break.  LOL i'm not making this shit up.

Same thing here in Dallas...
Soundscan released a note stating that "In Da Club" has had more radio spins than any other song ever!!! Including Elvis, The Beatles, whoever... And that was over a month ago... I HATE MAINSTREAM HIPHOP & RnB RADIO ROTATION...... I only listen 2 or 3 hours a week because I'm a party DJ who needs to keep in touch with the popular shit..
