No way. Jimmy doesn't reject anything. I think Dre just uses Jimmy as his excuse and Jimmy goes along with it cause Dre's always been his go to guy. Dre could put it out if he thought it was dope enough. Maybe Rakim's album just isn't dope enough and Dre wants perfection. Ya'll ever think of that?

Just read the bit on SOHH and I'm bummed... Hopefully they'll put the Dre cuts on the new LP though. All this wait - and nothing happens. A huge let-down from Dre, whether or not it was his decision/fault or not. Get us all hyped up, go around saying the album is FINALLY coming - and then kill our hope with one swift strike. Perhaps it is a publicity stunt. I don't imagine negotiating your way out of a contract is done in a few days, so I can't see why there would have been so much publicity in the past weeks when the labels knew the relationship was over.
At the same time, it's an odd publicity stunt if it is - never heard of anyone promoting their upcoming record by pretending they've left the label. ???
I dunno. I've said for the past few months that I didn't think the record would ever drop, so I guess I'll stay with that gut feeling. Still, sad news if that's right.

I think he just got fed up with having to do what Jimmy Iovine wanted with this album, and would much rather release a real Rakim record on another label than have to go gangsta on Aftermath. In a way I think this could be good, because Ra is going to want to prove Interscope wrong so badly that the actual album that he releases on whichever label he goes to will end up being a straight classic.

I feel a empty hole inside me right now. It feels like I will never hear "Oh My God" the way it was suppose to be heard. This is the worst news I'm heard in a long while, like when Magic retired or Jordan retiring the first time, when Big and Pac got killed, like losing something you love. Rakim and this "Oh My God "project was one of the last hopes for true hiphop heads, now who do we turn to. I can't think of nobody that could feel Rakims shoes or meet the exspectations of this project. Yeah, he way drop enother album but it will be hard to amgine it being better that what was suppose to happen with Aftermath. This shit feels horrible.

Nope, the only solo I'm looking forward to is Ice Cube's, and that wont be out till a few years. And don't even bring up Eminem and G-Unit, they're all wack, they will never get rotation in my stereo. I got way better stuff to listen to than that garbage. If it is true and they don't give Ra the album they submitted to Jimmy to take to his next label, and instead keep it in Dre's vaults, i'm buying a plane ticket to LA and i'll either be waiting outside Interscope offices or mr Iovine's house to personally beat the shit out of him. The sad thing is, i'm deadly serious. And i stopped being a violent person about 5 years ago, but if this is true and i don't hear that album by the end of the year Jimmy's getting fucked up.
Isn't Priority Records also based in LA? Well, when i go over (and if i don't arrested straight away) and if Ras Kass is still not released from them by the time i go over, i'll be paying them a little visit straight after.

I think people are going to be even more disappointed when they realize this is NOT another way of promoting the album. There has been absouletly no promotion for this album besides word of mouth for 2 years.....It's got a better chance coming out now that it's not on Aftermath, but I think it's still a very slim chance we will ever see the album (un-bootlegged).
