Post by: Jay ay Beee on August 29, 2002, 12:30:27 PM
Group A
ARSENAL, Borussia Dortmund, PSV, Auxerre

Group B
Valencia, LIVERPOOL, Spartak Moscow, Basle

Group C
Real Madrid, Roma, AEK Athens, Genk

Group D
Internazionale, Lyon, Ajax, Rosenborg

Group E
Juventus, Feyenoord, Dynamo Kiev, NEWCASTLE UNITED

Group F
MANCHESTER UNITED, Bayer Leverkusen, Olympiakos, Maccabi Haifa

Group G
Bayern Munich, Deportivo La Coruna, AC Milan, RC Lens

Group H
Barcelona, Galatasaray, Lokomotiv Moscow, Club Brugge

English clubs in bold

LoL @ Group G

We beat Olympiakos 2 - 0 and 3 - 0 last season, Bayer are not as good as before and Maccabi Haifa (from Israel) (we play them in Cyprus) are probably a bunch of monkeys.

So that's us through then.

Arsenal are appalingly bad at the top level and they'll slip through this one, Newcastle are out but Liverpool will bore their way through.

Yup it is.

We have just signed Ricardo the goalkeeper while you have just signed your 34th 2nd keeper some Egyptian bloke.

And I have just bought Keane's book.

I think Arsenals defence is soo mcuh better, you have both just singed a keeper each but so what not like there guna get any games behind Barthez, Carroll and Seaman and Taylor.

I agree with Bez, also if Wenger feels its strong enough then so do i, i have full confidence in our manager and our defence.

Also Ferguscum has a history of buying shite goalies, so Ricardinho or whatever his name is, holds no credibility with me.

Our goalkeeping signings have no bearing on the fact that our defence is better than Arsenal's

But we have an injury crisis with Silvestre, Brown, Neville G and Barthez out

And Bez I seriously doubt that the Spanish number 2 goalkeeper would sign up to be the number 3 goalkeeper

Oh and Ronaldo has gone to MAdrid

Spanish number 2, wierd considering most people have never heard of him before, I aint saying he isnt the spanish number 2 but I can think of about 5 keeper that are proberly better than him

Casillas
Cesar
Canizares
Deportivos keeper
Mallorcas Keeper

soooooo much better than this Valladolid keeper.

yeah, i aint ever heard of this guy before, and i dont think he is the spanish no2 keeper. Canizares was goin to be first choice in the world cup but got injured so casillas played, and he aint even first choice at Madrid, Cesar is. The new manc keeper might of been injured aswell so i dont know.
but i aint a fan of latin keepers, cant catch crosses.

lol, Ricardo was number 2 in the World Cup.  If Cannizares was fit, he would have been number 3.  The original squad had Cannizares first choice, Cassilas second and Ricardo third.  When Canizares got injured Molina (depor) was drafted in as third keeper.

Who is Mallorca's keeper?  Cause I don't know.

Bez have you ever seen him play? NO.  So how the fuck do you know?

Spanish keepers are pretty crap, they can't catch the fucking ball, Real Madrid have 2 of the worst keepers in the world, Cassilas and Cesar are abysmal.  So hopefully Ricardo's not like them.

Have u ever seen him play? NO.

I didnt claim to of seen him play and I was just pointing out he cant be anything special because I watched the whole of La Liga last season and I cant remember anything being said about this good keeper from Valladolid.

Jay if you think spanish keepers are generally poor I think you need to stick the champs league final video on from last season and just watch how well Casillas does.  He blocks like every thing thrown at him.  Casillas is better than Barthez.

I didn't say he wasn't better than Fab

Casillas can't catch crosses.  He is a great shot stopper but he can't catch.  That is why he was DROPPED.

Regardless of whether or not he cant catch he is still a great keeper.

Fuckin dumbass

Every keeper go's thru there bad patches, even you shud know that.  You cant be quality all the time, he got dropped cause he was proberly going thru 1 of them patches, just because he got dropped dont mean he is not a great keeper.  They had Cesar who is also a very good keeper and they proberly thought for the sake of winning games they will give Casillas a rest and Cesar a go in goal.  SIMPLE AS.  Now stop being a snot nosed fooland lighten up I am not argueing with you I am simply making my opinion's, if you cant handle that then shut up.

Cesar is crap

If you watched La Liga all the time you will have known it was Cesar's fault Xavi equalised against them in the Nou Camp and it was his fault they lost to Oviedo

word, i think cesar is an awful keeper, i always thought casillas was the better keeper, as shown in the champ league final.
but it said on a programme tonight on the radio by some spanish expert that ricardo is about the fifth best keeper in spain.

So every keeper makes mistakes, thats what I am saying, who is too say that if Casillas played in them matches he wouldent of made the same mistakes and more.  I think hes a good keeper like.  I do watch La Liga but wierdly I can never remember anything about it, lol.  Same with the Prem I always watch match of the day and the Priemiership, but I can never remember whats happeneed like.
