why to some people compare these rappers 2 each other when everybody knows DMX is a much better rapper and 2pac only became a legend after he died

sadly i have to agree with duckman...not about the dmx part...but 2pac did only become a legend after he died...seriously if pac was alive today he would be as famous as dre probably...but there wouldnt be all these ppl going "hes the greatest of all time blah blah blah"...ppl dont seem to realize that pac got most of his popularity after he died and it was because he died...as far as comparing dmx and pac...they are 2 different styles...in skill i would say they are equal...but dmx went for awhile without doing anything to show that skill. back when Its Dark & Hell Is Hot came out i thought for sure DMX would end up a legend like 2pac but he kinda went downhill...

^^^^Me neither actually...they do have some similarities (they're both VERY good at making deep songs, songs you can really FEEL). But besides that, they both have their own style.

2nd DMX is not a much better rapper at all. I prefer Pac in every case.

but it was subject matter and emotion are the things that made em a good artists
not complex wordplay, metaphores..ect...

there's no doubt about the flow imo.. of course everybody can prefer what they like but the only reason people see a comparison as an honor for X is that Pac's death made him a legend..
as for the topic.. it's mostly Pac dickryders who bitch about X "bitin" pac even though this is just ridiculous.. other than that there's not much comparison of these 2 talented but different rappers

I've heard the comparisions, and they can be seen. I think DMX has his own style, but in some ways his emotions are simular to 2Pac's. Both express hat they feel, and I remember 'Pac saying this, and I think DMX can say this as well, anything they rap about, you can pull their card on, because they are honest on record. Also, just to clarify, I've heard the 2Pac greatest of all time argument shortly after All Eyes On Me was released. People seemed to get caught up in the hype of the time, and maybe it was just a Cali thing, but All Eyes On Me, and Me Against the World was played all over the place, and people were claiming 'Pac the greatest.

i agree...thats is what makes him great...he doesnt have anyone to answer to...he does whats good for him and i respect that...you gotta be able to do stuff for you instead of being all about other people...i would be willing to bet that outside of music x is a lot better about doing things for others...

I concerned Duckman for sayin "DMX is a real gangsta" or sumthin. Within sayin "fuck gangsta" I meant it aint no criterion if X or whoever else is a G or not.
