DAMN! I didn't get a chance to peep his last album. Shit just came out not too long ago. He just got out of jail a few months ago, too. This is fucked up. Without a doubt a huge loss. He has a pioneer in the South. He was one of the first artists on Cash Money, back when he was Magnolia Slim. R.I.P. and my condolences to his fam bam.

New Orleans (AP) -- James Tapp, better known as rapper Soulja Slim, was shot and killed Wednesday night as he got out of his vehicle in front of his mother's house.
New Orleans Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Accardo says the 25-year-old Tapp was shot several times in his mother's front yard on Lafaye Street. Accardo says though police are sure Tapp was the target of the shooting, they don't yet have a motive.
Tapp's lyrics were laden with talk of violence, including references to drugs, gangs and drive-by shootings. He was previously signed to rapper Master P's No Limit label.
