Below is an open letter from E-40 to thesource.com, describing his experiences of that night and his relationship with Mack Minister.
E-40 writes...
On Tuesday, August 22, 2000 at The Source Awards, while I was visiting a member of the Cash Money Millionaires, I was verbally assaulted and physically attacked by a person known as Andre Dow, a.k.a. Mack Minister.
Andre Dow has, over the last four years, followed and stalked me. He has shown up uninvited to numerous events, at which I am scheduled to appear, and events that I have arranged and sponsored. Four years ago when no one would give Andre Dow a break in the business I gave him an opportunity to appear on my album, Hall Of Game. Andre Dow was paid for his services under his contract. Since his appearance on my album, he has used his association with that to make people believe that he is a part of my crew. Because of his failures outside of the opportunities I have given him, Andre Dow has taken a personal belief that I owe him for my success.
Andre Dow has the same birthday as mine. He has gone as far as showing up at my birthday party representing that it is his party and thanking everyone for coming. He has appeared, uninvited, at events representing that he is appearing on behalf of me and my company.
He is not an employee of mine, and outside of working, under contract, on Hall Of Game, he has no association with me or Sic Wid It Records.
On August 22, 2000, at the Source Awards, all persons receiving awards, performing, and people who were VIPs, were assigned seating in the front row area of the stage. Andre Dow did not have an assigned seat but was in the front row area changing seats, as seats became open, as groups and individuals would go backstage to perform and leave their seats empty.
At the break, just prior to the confrontation, Andre Dow approached me and began to rant and rave in an incoherent voice. He began to spit and cuss at me stating I owed him. Myself and others asked him to calm down. I tried to take a non-aggressive role. At the same point, he began to approach me spitting, cussing, and threatening to do me. He began to reach out at me, grabbing my necklace and pendant, and I went to push him back away from me. The next thing I know, I am being grabbed at and taken out of the Arena by my body guard. When I got outside, I noticed that my $30,000 necklace/pendant and $40,000 bracelet had been taken.
I never saw Andre Dow again that night or since. No criminal charges were brought against me by the Pasadena District Attorney's Office and I fully cooperated with the Pasadena Police investigation.

2. Not sure the specifics, but I know that King Tee did snatch a red rag off Pac's head, cause Pac was perpetratin' being Damu, when he wasn't. Never heard of any punches being thrown, but Tee was tryin' to get thru to Pac about fakin' the funk in so many words and actions.
3. Kam didn't actually whoop Cube's ass (although he wanted to), but Kam's homie, Solo did whoop his ass and took his WSC chain. Kam's "whoop whoop" video at the end is a true depiction of what actually happened, Solo called Cube out in traffic, Cube got out and Solo socked his ass out and took his chain. (also Kam grew up in a Crip hood (and he isn't a Crip, BTW), so it's no wonder some Bloods would be poppin' off at the mouth.

Let me correct you on a few things son.....
ATL didn't attack anybody in the sense context you are refering too. Cube bounced out of NWA and of course NWA and Cube were trading barbs back and forth that went on for months. At the New Music Seminar in NYC, both camps were at the venue and words between members/groupies of the Lench Mob and Above The Law were traded and the Lench Mob (along with King Sun and others who were down with Cube at the time) decided to knuckle up against ATL, then ATL cleaned house/better yet cleaned the clocks of Cube, King Sun, and others got socked out and the venue where the fight took place, got destroyed. At the end of it several members of the LM high-tailed it out of the venue and ATL were left standing there, so in the midst of it, ATL were considered the bullies and were banned from the New Music Seminar (and ATL were believed to be NWA's bodyguards as reported in headlines), which 2 years later became non-existent. It was funny 3 dudes from Pomona were out numbered and still whooped some ass and years later signed to a label who's CEO banned the group at the NMS. 187um knocked Cube out, DJ K-OSS knocked out King Sun (who is a BIG MF). To this day, the group wished that the incident never happened.
Also King Sun alleged that he gave Cube a demo and Cube took the ideal and hook I believe it was "Wicked" (can't remember) and used it for himself, Muggs from Cypress, claimed Cube did the same thing. And while at a show Sun came to the front row and wanted to battle Cube and Cube declined and left. Then Sun got up on stage and did a few songs from "Righteous But Ruthless" and bounced. No fisticuffs were thrown.

that producer was damon thomas, who had produced some tracks on b-rocka's first album. apparently, dr dre was fucking his wife (or his main bitch, whatever); and he confronted dr dre and got knocked the fuck out. lol! as a result death row threw him some work, he produced "i can't get enough" for danny boy on the gridlock'd soundtrack, and that was a hot ass track.

Basically what happened (this is from police documents) was Death Row was having a party & though most of the audience was made up of Piru's & Bloods, some crips turned up there coz Snoop was there. Anyway Snoop was performing on stage when he threw up a crip sign, this in turn caused the small number of crips in the audience to throw it up
The Bloods reacted badly to that & started set trippin. DJ Quik was the most vocal. He got into a fight with someone else who was gang bashed but didnt die. DJ Quik then turned his attention onto crip Kelly Jamerson. Quik (according to many witnesses) hit Jamerson with a bottle & began kicking & stomping Jamerson. A whole lot of bloods just started stomping & kicking Jamerson, this went on for 10 minutes before Police were able to break it up
Jamerson died as a result for the vicious beating. He was beatin so badly that the autopsy could not pin point the exact cause of death.
The reason why Russell Poole (Former LAPD detective now suing LAPD, former lead dectective in charge of the Biggie Smalls murder, the man who revealed the corruption in LAPD, featured in Biggie & Tupac film) stumbled on these files & statements was because 2 off duty police officers were present at the party & LAPD Chief Benard Parks tried to keep many of these files secret in order not to expose the full extent of the Rampart police corruption scandel
So yeah, in my eyes, DJ Quik, while i'm sure he didnt intend to kill Kelly Jamerson, should be held somewhat responsible for what happened that night as he started the beat down

Basically what happened (this is from police documents) was Death Row was having a party & though most of the audience was made up of Piru's & Bloods, some crips turned up there coz Snoop was there. Anyway Snoop was performing on stage when he threw up a crip sign, this in turn caused the small number of crips in the audience to throw it up
The Bloods reacted badly to that & started set trippin. DJ Quik was the most vocal. He got into a fight with someone else who was gang bashed but didnt die. DJ Quik then turned his attention onto crip Kelly Jamerson. Quik (according to many witnesses) hit Jamerson with a bottle & began kicking & stomping Jamerson. A whole lot of bloods just started stomping & kicking Jamerson, this went on for 10 minutes before Police were able to break it up
Jamerson died as a result for the vicious beating. He was beatin so badly that the autopsy could not pin point the exact cause of death.
The reason why Russell Poole (Former LAPD detective now suing LAPD, former lead dectective in charge of the Biggie Smalls murder, the man who revealed the corruption in LAPD, featured in Biggie & Tupac film) stumbled on these files & statements was because 2 off duty police officers were present at the party & LAPD Chief Benard Parks tried to keep many of these files secret in order not to expose the full extent of the Rampart police corruption scandel
So yeah, in my eyes, DJ Quik, while i'm sure he didnt intend to kill Kelly Jamerson, should be held somewhat responsible for what happened that night as he started the beat down

dont know y there is so much hate on pac in a west coast forum, when he was one of the realest to put it down for the west. he is one of the most popular rappers of all time, and when anyone thinks of pac they think of west side, ya'll should b thankin him for that if u got luv for the west. Pac isnt superman of course he couldnt beat up anyone, and i dont think u can name one rapper who is so big that he can beat the fuk out of anyone. When saying he is one of the hardest means that he would never back down to anyone no matter how big they are.

I feel you,that's just what someone told me,this supposedly happened before daz came to the bay when snoop and them wasn't really fuckin with daz too much soopa's involvement with eastsidaz,up in smoke tour ,and eventually signing with dogghouse made daz feel betrayed.this is back before raw was out.i guess everything went bad when tha row put out that ad listing the remaining/new roster and snoops name was crossed out.since that was 2000-2001 i guess they squashed it.seperate from all of that though,if snoop's next album really is called snoopafly,as planned,i think that really salts soopa out,especially since his album never dropped.i mean his name is really priest!just like ron oneal's character in the original superfly movie.
