I ain't gonna rate Dipset, only heard it a couple times, beat-wise it was nice at times, but lyrically..... :-\
Confessions Of Fire 4/5
SDE 4.25/5
Come Home With Me 2.25/5 (no typin error, didn't like it)

well...i don't exactly agree on this bein the best gangsta rap album ever but sum of the beats were hot
diplomatic immunity is 2 cd's full of crack!
if you think about it
lyrics = diplomatic immunity >> chronic
production = diplomatic immunity >> chronic
-
The greatest gangsta rap album ever?
I respect your opinion but it strikes me as an over-blown statement... what about Straight Outta Compton for a start? Criminal Minded if you want to talk East Coast? The Diplomats didn't do anything to elevate the genre or bring anything even remotely new to the table... ???

i agree on "The chronic" bein nuthin really special lyrically but '92 those lyrics were just as good as the dipset lyrics in '02
and as for the production that's 2 very different styles, modern east coast gangsta shit and back in the days g-funk but Chronic << Diplomatic Immunity NEVER IMO and i'm sure most people on here will agree with me on this

agreed...the reason for the beats being hot though is because of The Heatmakerz...as I said in a passed topic they are dope...
-
You are an idiot Doggie.
-
Losing Weight Pt. 2 is probably one of the only decent tracks from Cam'Ron ever
-
Ok Jim Jones, stop the Gimmick man. You've been puttin on an act for the past 6 months that i've been on this board, only posting about the Diplomats and your sarcasm is becomin very annoying, so drop it. You already killed it man, post about other artists at least

actually, i agree disc (book) two had sum filler material but all the dope songs on AEOM still would've been too much for one disc and DI had many mediocre songs on and could've easily been reduced to one disc

Season Of Da Siccness
The Fix or The Diary maybe
Streetz Is A Mutha, but as good as the chronic....naw
The War Report and The Infamous if u call that 'gangsta'
but really to me there's nothing better than dre's debut
-
options:
1. They all shook
2. nobody gives a fuck / takes it seriously
that's the two most logical conclusions i can get to
-
Brotha Lynch Hung - Season Of Da Siccness
8)
Lox-We are the Streets
-
"The problem is, to much east coast dick lickin"
-The Game
-
1. grab your phone book
2. close your eyes
3. open it up
4. point your finer at any place in the phonebook until you land on someone's name...
that's how well known Jim Jones is and that's why no rapper talks back....he's a nobody...
we have a better chance of a rapper responding to our shit talking on this board
-
but really there's nothing better than dre's debut
-
lol @ the editin ^ it's all a matter of taste....

In my opinion ain't shit in the gangsta rap world comes close to The Chronic, everything from lyrcial content to song arrangment just flows gangsta. Anything that comes close has to be The Lox-We are the Streets... There's nothing Dipset has done that hasn't been done by RR all ready, except maybe the whole color pink thing and flowing the weirdest streams of words together to keep a constant flow.

download some jim jones crack like 'mafia jects' and 'lovely daze'. that some tight gangsta rap shit there.
as for rubberband man, i heard that shit for the fist time last night and it was nice, nothing special, just nice. its a shame how rappers are copying dipset isnt it, taliban and all that stuff.
-
warren g, pac, space boogie is gangsta???
i aint heard all of those albums but from what ive heard on that list, dip is way better
yes, IMO
Warren G - his album was called "The G-Funk Era"....G-Funk = gangsta funk and sum of the lyrics were indeed gangsta but i admit it was a comparatively harmless album
Pac - His shit was always considered gangsta ever since he got signed to Death Row and I intentionally left out his first 3 solos and THUG LIFE, but when he got affiliated with Death Row he got affiliated with Suge and Suge is undeniably gangsta and Pac rapped about gangsta shit too
Kurupt - He claims sum crip set, lotta people say he a fake but still his music is definitely gangsta, plus he says "gangsta" more than anybody out there
what on this list have u heard??
-
well...i don't exactly agree on this bein the best gangsta rap album ever but sum of the beats were hot
diplomatic immunity is 2 cd's full of crack!
if you think about it
lyrics = diplomatic immunity >> chronic
production = diplomatic immunity >> chronic
And you have to be on crack to write these reviews. Also the should be under Album reviews! but hey my :-X
