compulsory miltary service for immigrants to gain citizenship.. US draft thingy just gave me the idea.
if you think u have the right to be here.. then prove your worth and fight for your new homland (to be.. ) lol.. and your wife + kids can then come too.

What's to say somebody wouldn't sign up, go thru the training, get a gun in their hands, then start killing?

I'm just a big pessimist, but in a worst case scenario, I could see some Iraqi coming to England, saying he wants to be a citizen, signing up for military service, going thru the training, getting deployed, then when he's in the field, killing a bunch of English people in his division...
Kind of intentional traitor type thing...

IF England does it U.S. style, then they would keep the immigrants in their own platoon, and therefore the solders would be killing other immigrant solders, not a huge lose to England. And also, if your own man turns on you, wouldn't the people that trust him with their life be the first to kill the son of a bitch.

If Britain needs immigrants so bad (which it doesn't), then just allow immigrants from Eastern Europe. They don't cause the problems that other immigrants do.
i meant it 1) as a form of deterrent to those trying to abuse the system and 2) as a form under which people would then be more readily accepted
it solves both problems

i almost joined the amry u know, i had an interview n everything whilst i was at school but i decided to continue my education and i now in my second year of university i made the right choice for myself. am i too pussy to fight? no, it just wasn't the right choice for me, however it was the right one for some of my friends i give lots of respect for that.

that's good. u did make the right decision. ur education is far more important, and i feel the same. i support people joining the army, i give them props actually. i have nothing against brave people who put their life on the line for others. i cant blame them for the retarded actions their government has chosen to take. they're just taking orders from the government. they're employees like the rest of us. it's the government that's fucked up. however, i hate little bitches like o'reilly, limbaugh, bush, etc. who never fought themselves but when it comes to iraq they say "kill those evil bastards".
