Title: Daz Dillinger - R.A.W.
Post by: Plumma25 on February 25, 2002, 07:22:58 AM
New 2 the board, and my first review, haven't seen this reviewed so thought I'd take a crack at it

1.  Super Cuz (Intro) - No rating, just an intro

2.  Street Gangs - Not a song, instead just a little history about gang life.  Not bad, good backround music.  3/5

3.  What Cha Talkin' Bout - Good beat, not great, simple lyrics, typical Daz, nothing spectacular, but good song.
3.5/5

4.  Thiz Iz Not Over (Til We Say So) -  One of my favorites, great beat, good lyrics.  Wish he had someone with him on the track, like Kurupt, but still a really good song.  4/5

5.  One-Nine-99 - Weak song, probably a filler song.  Beat sux, and Lil C-Style is wack.  Could of been left of.  2/5

6.  Who's Knoccin at My Door - Laid back beat, decent lyrics.  Good song, nothing special bout this one.  3.5/5

7.  What Ya Lease Expected - Great Song, song that gets you amped.  Battle song.  Great beat, even better chrous.  My fav. on whole album.  5/5

8.  What It Iz - Again, typical Daz here, phat beat, but lyrics are just not there.  This song sounds like its directed at Death Row, talks about back-stabbing.  4/5

9.  I'd Rather Lie 2 Ya f/Kurupt - Kurupt does the chrous, good ass beat.  Classic DPG here.  Would of fit real well on the D.P.G. album that was released.  4/5

10. On tha Grind f/Kurupt - Song appeared here first, then on Kurupt's Space Boogie.  Its a main-stream song, not bad though, good beat, good lyrics.  Takes you back in time, real laid back.  4.5/5

11. If You Want This Pussy (Interlude) - Definite pass over, I alwayz skip this one.  Not really a song, just an annoying ass skit.  Oh well every album has em.  1/5

12.  Your Gyrlfriend 2 f/Mac Shawn, Soopafly - Love this song, classic D.P.G sex song here.  Follow up 2 Kurupts Your Gyrlfriend on Streetz Iz A Mutha.  Wish Kurupt had a verse here, but Soopafly has a good verse.  Like the beat better on this one than the one on Streetz Iz A Mutha  4.5/5

13. R.A.W. f/Kurupt - Another D.P.G classic, another battle song.  Beat is amazing on this one, something I've never heard b4.  Both come correct 2.  5/5

14. Itz All About That Money - Weak track, good beat, but lyrics are too simple.  Skipable after a couple listens.  3/5

15. Movin' Around f/Slip Capone - I like this track, cuz of Slip Capone, who seems 2 be great when he's featured on an album.  Laid back beat, def.  a phat ass song.  Slip should of rapped more.  4/5

16. U Ain't Knowin' - Another filler track, nothing special here, the beat is plain and so are the lyrics.  2/5

17. Agony - Not a Daz song, some lady, I think its LayToya Williams, not sure though.  She has a nice voice, but this song seems out of place on the album.  Don't like it, I alwayz skip right over it.  2/5

18. Feels Good f/Kurupt - Alwayz thought if this got radio play, it would've blown up big time.  Phat beat, great lyrics, Kurupt just flows so nicely 2 this song.  Def. a commerical track, but would of def. blown up if played on the radio.  When you hear it, just makes you want 2 bounce.  4.5/5

19. My System f/Kurupt - This songs great if you got a phat as system.  Beat is hella crazy, but song gets boring after a couple minutes.  3/5

20. Baccstabber f/Mark Morrison, Tray Dee - Like a remix 2 What It Iz. Another diss directed at Death Row in my opinion.  Like it way better that What It Iz.  Beats way better.  4/5

21.  Super Cuz (Outro) - Nothing important, just an outro.

Overall this album was phat, a def. D.P.G. classic.  Although not as good as Daz's first cd, it was pretty damn good.  8/10.
