It seems like Jay-Z's talk about retiring was just that - talk. Jay-Z is back as S. Carter and is signing a one album deal with Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records, AftermathMusic.com reports.
The album would be entirely produced by Dr. Dre, who was also supposed to produce a song for last year's The Black Album. Unfortunately, the song didn't make the cut.

I RECIEVED THE EMAIL RIGHT NOW AND I CANT BELIVE IT I.
I THINK THEY AINT BULLSHITTING BUT WILL SEE IF IS TRUE
-
Hmm, I've heard this rumor for months but if its true I won't be happy as hell like some people, its more like "damm thas tite"
I'd be a lot more hype hearin Snoop or Crooked I was doin an album entirely produced by Dre.

i need something to smoke.......

True...especially Crooked I, or even one Dre-produced song on his album, that would be cool.
Still, if this is true, I think this album will be considered a classic (I don't use the term 'classic' that much, but you can't deny the fact when one of the best MC's in the game links up with one of the best producers, it will be pure fire.)
But hey, we'll just see what happens. Dre's got a lot going on right now: The Game, Eve, Busta, Nate Dogg (btw, whatever happened to his project? Is he still executive-producing Nate's album?), Eminem, 50, Xzibit, etc...

'We are not amused' :( >:(

Damn....in dunno what dre offers them eastcoast artists, but i guess that jay z is just about making good music, cause hes already a rich muthaphukka....... 8)

yep thats exactly it ::) Jay-z is strictly in it for the music, just the same as dre ::)
yeah right dude, they are doing it for the money. the album will probably be cool, but there are a million other artists I'd rather hear on an executive produced dre album than jay z.
-
::) yeah i heard this too...i guess it drops right after rakims...around the same time detox drops ::)

thats stupid as shit. he "retires" to gain fans, and then comes out of retirement so he can bandwagon the hottest label? doesnt he have his own label to run?
-
why is a fansite reporting it and not any official label reps?

Ok that's cool, but it has been a no-brainer that this "retirement" wasn't going to last, and many people in the business never really believed it, hell none of the fans really wanted to believe it either.
And again having links on a fansite doesn't mean that one is "working" with artists and labels. Just from my own experience, there were alot of Death Row fansites with links to the official site, but none were "working" with the label, just doing interviews and what-not. But your site is cool and I check it out from time to time, so it's cool.
But it's weird that a fansite will report "confidential" news before the actual company itself reports such "big news". And I'm sure the labels in question knew what was going on before the start of the weekend and would of contacted various outlets before-hand. And some people do work on weekends at labels (it's not an un-common practice).
But if it's factual, it would be interesting to hear what Jay and Dre can do, like Dre and Nas once had started.
But Halu, brings up a good point.
-

You must of misunderstood what I said. Why hasn't a label's PR (or other label outlets) department report such "big news" to the various media outlets first? And many labels have independent PR companies that have their own sites.

www.Aftermath-Entertainment.com is the official website. www.Aftermathmusic.com is in their Link Section.

I NEVER SAID THE JIGGA Deal is finnished. I juss said: "Jigga is doin his next record with the math". I only confirmed the rumors. Whoo Kid announced it 1st. ;) REAL Fansites ALWAYS posting the news a way earlier than official websites.
Anyways:
I run this website since 1998. Last Year we, DubCNN & AMM, was saying : Upcoming Deals with Busta and X ... at the top of the year, busta signed. be on da look out for X.

;D

REAL Fansites ALWAYS posting the news a way earlier than official websites.
Well that's true, but alot of news don't come to fruition, it's just hype. But all one can do is see how this project comes along if it at all.
-
^ lmao
(damon..)
u just gotta take everything with a pinch of salt.. its the nature of this thing :)
dedi's done what he can to verify it.. if it falls though "jay-z was once in talks with aftermath" might be a better headline :)
maybe he got a offer he couldnt refuse...
-
Let's see how fast Adidas' thread gets removed since individuals are talking about ruining thread. I guess one took a break from designing all those free websites to jump on my nuts, again.
Cheers 8)

yes man. The projects is coming real soon ... believe me or not.

No disrespect to Damon X, thats my boy and all. He should stick to flashing his penis on BlackPlanet.
Well you are definitly not my boy and maybe you should stick to continuing on your "revenge campaign." What website is my alleged dick and picture on now? Make sure where ever you make one be sure to put all the record record release info on there and promote my records as well. And stop crying about somebody talking shit about you, you and many others know you don't get paid and you don't represent no record companies young roccs ;D
And yea Seer that may be the best idea, because if it doesn't pan out folks won't take any real authentic news seriously. But keep doing your thing Dedicato, the site is good and better than most out there.
-
But keep doing your thing Dedicato, the site is good and better than most out there.
like I always said:
Aftermathmusic.com is your premier source of Aftermath and Shady Records. The Site is trying to make the fan-artist relationship even more intimate and create a more involved and personal experience.
Peace. Thx for your comments! Later.
-
sounds good, but how the hell you gonna drop rakim and scratch your album and then sign jay-z ???
-
Jay Z is a bigger name than both Dre and Rakim.
Jay Z is Hip Hop.
-
Jay Z is a bigger name than both Dre and Rakim.
Jay Z is Hip Hop.
:'(
How did it come 2 this?
Hatesrats 2oooIV
-
what the hell is wrong with dre, lets see he is most responsible for NOT releasing the following:
NWA-not these niggas again (most anticipated album of all time)
Rakim-Oh My God
Dr. Dre-Detox
Ice Cube-???
So by looking at his track record nothing will probably happen with Jay-Z, but if he does do a Jay-Z album then he's got to be the biggest bitch in rap cause he denied all of the above and put jay-z, WHO THE FUCK IS JAY-Z??
I fucking hate dre more and more everyday!
-
cant wait for dis album.....should be another doggystyle type album if dre is producing the whole thing.....btw its not jay-z makin da album its S. CARTER MAKIN IT....im sure will find out the difference when the album drops....eg maybe hell use a different flow or something
ps we havent seen whole solo artist album being entirely produced by dre since doggystyle and at that time snoop was one of the biggest rappers in the west.......so wats wrong wit doin a whole dre album wit one of the biggest (if not the biggest) rapper on the east......i dont know wat sum of yall r bitchin about....sean carter is concidered one of the best rappers today
-
i think y'all should wait till it comes out of either dre or jiggaz mouth cuz this to big a rumour to be thinkin tis true without no real info............remember the whole xzibit signin with aftermath thang.......still hasnt happened.......jus wait and see.......if its true.......i guess its dope to see another whole dre produced album and therefore it'l be sick........but he dropped a rakim album..........and wont make his own album.....wont do a full cut with snoop but ready for jay-z?......i guess its his chioce at the end of the day, but id rather see a whole dre produced snoop cd anyday and i know most people would......but its still interesting
and if this news does get confirmed by either aftermath or jigga......then to all those cats who think jay aint gonna drop a album better wake up even if he does sign with aftermath better wake up.......that would never happen....to much money invloved
dre needs to do a whole album with snoop though still.........thought im looking forward to hearing what he got on games album......
peace
-
I dunno about this. It would be tight, but I'm just skeptical. You never know though.
-
If this is true, all I can say is Oh My God....
Yea Really, OH MY GOD. Wheres OH MY GOD at!!!!! Good Move By Aftermath. Except They Fucked Up Alot This Year. They Should Drop EVE, Pick Up Xzibit And Sign Planet Asia, Thats What I Think.
-
Not to long ago today, on Power 105.1 in New York, Steph Lova confirmed the story about Jay-Z signin with Aftermath. S. inked a one album deal with Dr.Dre and Jimmy Iovine and apparently sold his share of Roc-A-Fella records to Dame Dash for a reported $150,000,000. Its a new day in the rap industry, THIS is a Dynasty like no other, not even Death Row in its prime boasted a roster like this. Wow, Aftermath is runnin this shit! Some1 posted this @
