Environmentalists believe that humans are ruining the earth. Have yall ever thought about this for a minute? With a clear head? Lets look @ some examples.
They say things like the Exxon Valdez wreck are 'great environmental catastrophes', but when you think about it, oil occurs naturally on the earth, so you're mixing two natural chemicals, oil, and water. The ocean, at the time, was shown to be consuming the fucking oil... yes, breaking the oil apart, and dispersing it... AND, the ocean is so fucking amazingly huge, you could never destroy or pollute all of it. How? If we WANTED to pollute the ocean, and make it totally unusable, how would we do it? It's MILES DEEP in some parts. We could take everything that existed on the earth, and dump it in the ocean, which is twice as large in surface mass ALONE, and we'd end up with a world completely submerged in water. So someone explain to me how we're ever going to 'ruin the ocean'.
Global Warming. Scientists say the earth has been 'warming' for 15,000 years. Now; we haven't even had thermometers for anything CLOSE to 15,000 years, so that's just speculation at best. Plus, in the 70's, everyone was warning about "Global Cooling". Which is it? Cooling, or warming? The simple fact is, the environment and the weather is so huge and fucking above us, we have little effect at ALL on it. Man can't make, or prevent, natural disasters.
They say the earth is going to tilt towards a massive Ice Age. So? What the fuck can we do? We can't do shit about the weather, just like we can't do shit about Hurricanes and Tornados, except be stupid enough to build shit in the way of them.
Does anybody out there legitimately have 1 concern about the environment? I get so sick of seeing movies like "The Day After Tommorow" where they try and act like the world's on the edge of chaos because we pollute the air. We couldn't make a significant change in any kind of environmental factor whatsoever if WE WANTED TO. The nature of the universe is just way the fuck above us, we have little power at all in things like that.
Even if you build a house somewhere, and then leave it, the damn thing will collapse in a matter of years and the earth will reclaim the area. Go by somewhere that there are old ruins, and look what nature has done to get rid of the shit. It's frankly amazing.
I have little to no environmental concerns whatsoever.

the thing about oil spills isnt about the ocean, its about the life within.
things like coral reefs, once damaged dont get fixed, fish die, and sea birds are incapable of cleaning themselves once they get covered in oil when they try to get the dead fish.
not all the same fish are in all parts of the sea, just like on land many only frequent certain areas, if they go they may be lost forever.
i think the thing about the 70s is, people were stupid.. i mean who would wear stupid ass trousers that catch in ya bicycle? lol

Oh, Hilarious story, too. When all that went down with the oil, there were a bunch of Sea Otters that got all covered in the oil, and of course Sea Otters are really cute, so we want to clean them up and help them, because everybody likes a Sea Otter, right? Well... they go down there, and clean up a bunch of these Sea Otters, and then have this big press day, where they're releasing this symbolic sea Otter who's been all cleared up and everyting BACK into the bay (I think it was in Nantucket Sound). Anyways, they release the Sea Otter, and he's swimming out on his back and shit, looking all pretty, and out of NOWHERE, COMES SHAMU! This big ass Killer Whale, swims up, and eats the fucking Sea Otter. LOL. They had idiots yelling "ANIMAL RIGHTS! ANIMAL RIGHTS!" from the sea shore and shit.

so you're a marine biologist now?
as i understand it dead coral cant be replaced as new coral cant grow where old coral was, i believe they have to blow it up for it to be able to grow in the same spot again. very costly and difficult.
coral is also one of the most senstive biological structures on our planet.

So the only thing you can refute about what I said is that sometimes Humans kill off a local species of animal. Big fuckin' deal. Animals kill other Animals, too. MOST of the Animals we kill, we replenish! (I.E., Livestock, Poultry, Swine, Elephants for Ivor.... urgh, scratch that last one). It's just not a big deal.
Now, I'm not saying we should go out and purposefully extincticate (TM by Trauma, all rights reserved) animals, but when it happens, I REALLY DONT GET TOO CONCERNED ABOUT IT.
Again most of this was me just shooting a shotgun through the flimsy plot of "The Day After Tommorow", which AlGore is going around saying is imminent, and that the world's gonna end up like that, because of one man: George Bush. It's fucking ludicrious.

This is remarkable....Trauma actually saying it doesn't matter components (species) of the creation of his great God go extinct. Isn't that a terrible thing in your eyes.
And I personally think extinction is a terrible thing because it's irreversible. I assume you don't know many extinct species apart from the dodo? I assure you,it's only one in an unfortunately HUGE list of animals that have gone extinct due to human actions. I think this is a terrible tragidy and one of the great crimes of mankind. In fact,I think the world had been much better off if humans had never existed.
And though environmentalists might be exaggerating at times,their concerns do have a basis in reality. Ever seen a coral reef? It's amazingly beautiful and the fact we destroy it is a hideous act. Sure,the oil might dissolve in the sea but that's only after a certain time.Before that happens,the oil has destroyed or killed many things on it's path wich is what environmentalists are most concerned about. You might not mind it but I would certainly miss any ( vertebrate) species that would dissappear in my area.

Trauma you have recently been harping on about global cooling being a big issue in the 1970's, about it being on the cover of Time magazine being the only evidence i've seen you give of this. So i decided to do my own investigating, I asked a couple of people who are very well respected in the field of sustainable development (and specialize in the environment side of it) and they hadn't heard of it. Fair enough, they were academics so were probably damn dirty liberals who could have been hiding the truth from me so they could promote their own agenda. So i read some articles from magazines published in the mid 70's which talked about global cooling, and either i'm guessing you knew this all along or it just proves your ignorance, as global cooling is the exact same thing as global warming, just under a different name.
