Title: The Terminal
Post by: Sikotic™ on June 19, 2004, 02:17:04 AM
Saw this today. Surprisingly a good movie.....well not really because it was directed by Spielberg and had Ton Hanks in it. But the premise seemed really wack and made me not interested in it.

The movie is REALLY GOOD. Fuck Dodgeball, check this movie out.

I liked it, some hilarious moments, and a good story that had the potential to get real stupid or try and make some sort of political or social statement, but thankfully steered away from it.  Very well written.

The only thing I disliked was the whole Trekkie marraige thing. I dunno, just seemed unrealistic to me.

The food cart guy and the one black chick that denied Victor everyday. They got married. They were both Star Trek fans.

DAMN, that makes sense now.  I wondered why she gave him the vulcan "live long and prosper' sign whenever she met him, LOL.  I was thinking "This chick's got some kind of dehabilitation in her fingers or somethin'"

i dont think id see the movie otherwise because the story doesnt seem interesting to me.

Tom Hanks IS by far one of the, if not THEE, best actor alive today.  This movie looks pretty good, and I might go see it.

But, I got a question.  It says in the previews he's from a country that no longer exists...whats the country?

^ It's a fictional country that ceases to exist during the plot of the movie.

Tom Hanks is definately one of the finest actors alive today.  In this movie, he even shows some of his humourous side.  Good movie, different, and like I said, it's well written.  They poked fun at politics and the U.S. government, and several other things like that, but did it in a way that was intelligent and not just the same old tired bullshit.  Very well done.

Since we're on the topic of Tom Hanks, did anybody go and see The Ladykillers? And I agree, Tom Hanks is up there with Denzel and Pacino just to name a few.

Yea, I saw it!  I will see anything with Tom Hanks in it.  It was actually a very good movie.  I can't stand the Wayan's brothers, but he wasn't too bad, and Tom Hanks played a very interesting character in the movie with a lot of flair.  It's a memorable performance.

i never saw it, im waiting for it to come out on dvd.

i didnt see it because of that reason....wayans dude.

i thought tom hanks was just trying to catch on the black comedy train.

all the white actors are doing it now, and the movies suck big time.

Looks like a good movie.

Hes a good actor because he chooses his movies wisly.  Forest Gump, Green Mile, Apollo 13, Cast Away, Big, Catch Me If You Can, Saving Private Ryan, all hella good movies but each role is soooooooo different in each of the films.  He can play any charachter convincingly.  He and Spielberg are a good partnership if you ask me, hopefully, the will keep making movies together for a long ass time.
