I don't know about everyone else but the thing with me is not his beats there ok (but im not the biggest dre fan) but the fact that he's boasting so much about being so great....
Quite funny when he got so pissed when JD said the same thing about himself...

If you listen to the beats on Dre's "2001" album, he uses a wider variety of instruments then he has been after that album. He used a ukelely, trumpet, that main instrument for "Fuck You" etc. His later on were just drums, bass and keyboards with his atmospheric signature. His beats has not been as complez as they have been on "2001."
His "DETOX" sound though will be out of control though. Like Mellowman said, he did tracks with acoustic guitar and just drums to some orchestral hip-opera.

Ummm the only album i bump that dre did is "Doggystyle" and once in a blue moon maybe "The Chronic"....
I know im gonna get hated for this but i thought "2001" was an average album, 1st half was great 2nd half was wak.
But hey thats just me.

HAHA thats some funny shit. He probably didn't write that anyways. He usually doesn't, you can tell in alot of his songs, that he doesn't come with the same style. I didn't even have to look at the credits for the song he did with EM on eminem show, I could tell eminem wrote that shit, its obvious. But about everything he's sayin' in that rap, I donno, he can kinda say that, he does have the evidence to back it up, altho he's fucked up a couple times tryin' to put out people, he put out some of the best selling shit. The point is not weather it sounds dope or not, its weather it sells, thats his point. He's been in the game longer than any rapper or producer and got the PRODUCER OF THE YEAR award, so i mean come on...im out 1 .

First of he doesn't write the lyrics himself, so receiving a paper with the lyrics from Knoc, Xzibit, Eminem or somebody else shouldn't take more than 2 seconds.
Spitting the actual verse shouldn't take more than top 5 minutes, pros get it right pretty fast.

I think Symphony in X Major is a fuckin great song. Amazing beat and production + great vocal delivery by both. Should have another Dre verse instead of Xzibits second verse.

i bumped it up becuz of the dialogue. i actually just clicked on tha 1st page of this section and it was on tha 2nd to last page. it's funny how 10 years later the discussion about Dr. Dre hasn't changed at all lol. Even tho he's released 50 Cent, Eminem (2002-2010), X Zibit, has his own headphones, and all of tha other shit and people are still bitchin about tha same shit. running into this thread was more of a coincidence than anything, it had nothing to do with "Symphony".
